You can hide it using Xposed (G2 Xposed) ..but it require root ..

Nothing serious actually, and not a real issue.

The 3 are:
  • External SD Card write issue - this is KitKat new implementation, the apps developer need updates it apps to solved the problem, another way is using patch people did where adding back write permission at platform.xml at /system/etc/permissions for root user.
  • S View chip detection - Samsung did this on purpose to against Counterfeit S View flipcover. I dislike though.
  • No downgrading back to 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM as new bootloader required and new bootloader only work for 4.4.2 KitKat ROM.

Regards of the battery life and UI i don't actually see much differences though. Just more or less the same. But i do face problem on GPS locking (slower than previously), but now seems like it's working fine. Other than this, not much obvious update for 4.4KK.

We're lucky because the update dont seems to have these problem in G2. I'm not a heavy phone "tweaker", hence i can't get to judge on the third issues you mention.

The 3 of it, only the External SD card consider an issue, all stock apps by Samsung is working fine, only some 3rd party apps can't write to SD card.

Others two is not an issue, just a warning for user that plan update Note 3 to KitKat.

yeap. After I updated to 4.4KK, it really worried me lots. Cause it just will not lock the GPS. I seearch through the website, it state that 4.4kk is apparently having a few issues on N5 also. just pray that Google is serious in their android business. @@

I'll buy that point. Regardless what colour it is for the phone. I believe most of us are getting a casing as the phone protection. Otherwise, one gonna use it very very carefully.

I remembered someone asked whether our carrier supports fast dormancy mode before, I've tested out on Maxis and the answer seems NO. When FDM is enabled, the phone doesn't get to deep sleep most of the time so should disable FDM for Maxis

That's why I was asking around if our telco supports fast dormancy or not.. If they do then just leave it. Then again I'm not sure why does the speed gets worse. Some of the guys over at xda reported slower data speed too. Some said it became faster. Personally I just turned it off to try like two days ago.. it'll need further observation.

I have the battery running at 70% now. Is it normal for 'Android System' to use up around 20% of my battery?

Mine goes up to 40%~ on days when I rarely use the phone. Followed by Android OS and then Screen. According to what I read, they group all the system processes under Android System. You'll need apps like BetterBatteryStats to monitor further.

When I use my phone like crazy i.e. finishing the battery in half a day the screen gets about 30%~ Android system will only be about 10%~

Mine says status unknown. Don't dare to touch since i have no problem with the connection. Managed to get a whopping 38mbps upload in speedtest in Jalan Hang Tuah, Melaka. Max the device can do is 50mbps upload.

If you click on Android System you'll see the list. Mostly just system stuffs. Don't worry much about it. Install Wakelock Detector if you want to know more details and hunt down wakelocks if your G2 have problem sleeping. The best advice is, disable location services when you don't use it.

4G sorcery hahaha. I was on Umobile and was disappointed with the 2G/3G coverage here in Melaka and my hometown. Changed to Celcom, much better. As an added bonus, their 4G coverage here is pretty good too.

i did turned off my location sharing.
but still it uses my battery at the background..

Makes them look not very cool-ish.

If they just could make the buttons to be the same exact colour as the shell,

i'm using it, the one with the magnetic flip holder to hold the flip in close position securely. The case works fine as expected, small window feature also working fine.

only issue is after long usage, the flips kinda disintegrate/peeling into multiple layers at the bottom edge because i always open the flip cover from there

i'm using it, the one with the magnetic flip holder to hold the flip in close position securely. The case works fine as expected, small window feature also working fine.

only issue is after long usage, the flips kinda disintegrate/peeling into multiple layers at the bottom edge because i always open the flip cover from there

Yours is korean , f320 right ? If korean , yes it makes a difference for 2 pins even 3 pins since their voltage is different from msia . All my korean phones charge super slow using their original charger . if it's 2 pin elsewhere eg Hk where most D802 comes from these days , it's the same as 3 pin unless your unit come from a country with different power household output then malaysia

Not true, my f320 2 pin charge just as fast as the d802 2 pin. Both takes Malaysia 240V input and output 1.8A. It's the current that count

Most chargers nowadays supports both 110v and 240v. Most 3 pin chargers, the 3rd pin (earth pin) are dummy pins. They are either made with plastic or they are not linked to any metal parts to allow earthing.

Amperage depends on the wattage of the charger, not the number of pins.

Yup that's why i'm confused lol. Charger nowadays are global. You can bring it anywhere in the world since it supports voltage from 100-240V. The Ampere is the same. The difference is just the pin shape.

very unfortunately, the reading for 2 pins plug is 1.2A and the 3 pins plug is 1.8A

The 1.2A plug is really killing me when I charge my phone. It's a huge difference.

My first time charging the phone was with a 3rd party 1.0A charger. Took probably 6 hours to full from empty LOL. Then i realized that the given charger is 1.8A. doh.gif

How bout this, try Note 2/3/S4 or iPad chargers. They all use 2A and above chargers. See if it will charge your phone faster.

Sometimes its the cable's fault. Cable issue was extensively discussed over the Note 2 forums last year.

I tried before using iPad charger with a much higher output. Can't recall how much. however, it seems not working on my phone. Same finish charging time as the 1.8A charger.

THe cable do really affect on the charging time. I tried before night market cable to charge. it takes forever to charge finish the battery.

Samsung cables are not the best IMHO.

My S3, Note 2s came with bad cables. Plugged into 2A charger, the S3 cable could only output 300mA, Note 2 cables I had 4. It varies from 600 to 1100 mA.

However with my Galaxy W cable it was able to output 1.7A! And the Belkin cable could pass 1.8A easily, sometimes 1.9A

IMHO Samsungs have better speakers if you were to compare high end phones only. Reliability, I can assure its much better than Samsung in terms of parts nowadays.

There's a reason why Google decided to make LG the OEM of Nexus phones

Its not loud or not. Both are equally loud, just that Note 2 is less harsh and has better bass and treble response.

LG, is more harsh and focuses on the vocals rather than the pssssss and booms of a song.

if you want to prolong the battery life. suggest you use the lowest amps charger. I am using a 5V 1.0 A.

Charging the battery is a chemical reaction. so you want it to be as slow and steady as possible. fast charging causes non uniform charge distribution and heating.

To be honest, there is an issue where the phone creaks a bit when pressed hard. Speaker seems to be an issue with reviewer but with a small mod, it can get really loud. But overall, stock software is very stable and hardware aside from the creak have no problem at all.

Maybe that's ok if you're an overnight charger. Since it came with 1.8A from the factory, it should be ok. What would be bad is using a 2.1A charger on a 1.0A phone.

Does anyone actually suffer from micro lag? I googled this issue and follow the steps of 3845#*802# and turnon the heat property thing. But stik the same.

Try using Interactive governor. I'm still Ondemand though.

Which leads me to this question. Any of you guys using custom kernel? If so, which one?

StockMod kernel is the best for my usage in terms of battery life . I get a 2% drop on standby the whole day once as I forgot to take my phone out . Went out at at 9am and came home after midnight .

Skeptical about custom kernel since when i was on One X, it's always had worse battery life than stock. I see there's quite a few kernels available on XDA but doesn't seem stable based on the comments since the dev probably poked around too much. This StockMod seems fine with some optimization. Looks good so far.

forgot to mention F320 series do not come with the FM radio apps. Hence, the need of the applications (from fm station) is required and thus internet is a must.

I think LG is not interested in the mobile business here. The market is just too small for them to survive n compete against Samsung, Sony n HTC n other upcoming China brands. Even Nexus 5 from them till today no news of release.

got it from ebay. the link to that transaction is no longer valid, but just search for usb voltage tester and they'll many listing to choose from. got mine for about RM10 after conversion.

All my phone are covered with cases. I had experiences on dropping my phone on the tar roads and cause a huge dentssss on the phone itself (damn heartache). Thus, i must get a protection for my phone (have a higher resell value)

Ermm, i think u need to be rooted first to be able do that. No settings available, although i think LG should have one. The default navbar is just big as fish.

LTE is enabled on default.
You just have to make sure your location is covered with LTE by digi to use it.

But if you wanna double confirm, you can go to
Settings>network>tethering & netowrk>mobile network>network mode
And make sure the LTE option is selected.

It's not anti scratch totally , just harder to scratch . Sand is the biggest culprit . It's everywhere and we never know if some flew into our pocket . So if you put your phone in your pocket often , naked , get a SP even if it's gorilla glass

I think your best bet right now is to get the lcd parts from eBay and diy or you could get someone to help you do it and just pay them for labour costs.

Im thinking of getting this phone by this week (hopefully before CNY lol). I'm a little bit concerned about the quality of the speaker. Do you guys still find it bearable? That's just one of the many KK Rom available. I've tried CM11. Even now it still have random freeze issue. Otherwise it's usable.

May i know whats the maximum temperature the g2 can stand? I play modern combat 4 with interactive governor and some G2 xposed tweaks and i get 60c on cpu temp. Will the phone overheat or damage the phone?

G2 output speaker at the bottom it's got 2 side? My G2 on the left near to the earphone jack seems no sound. But on the right okay. This is normal, or mine is defect?

It's only cosmetic lol. The speaker is only one. Only the G Pro have 2 proper speakers.

Bro just get the international version. 95% of users have that here. It's cheap also! only 1699RM korean around 2K or 1900RM. Removable battery in Korean no use as it's not 3000mah then. Unlike international one has a 3000mah battery.

You shouldn't conclude its a microphone issue, have you try to use recorder app to record your voice thru the mic? Then play back and see if there are missing voice . if no, I would say your mic is not faulty. The problem you are facing could be due to other issues such as the line quality itself.

I'm using it for a week now. So far very satisfied. It feels almost as smooth as the original glass. Installation wise, u need to be really spot on. There is very little or non margin of error. I think mine is installed slightly too low. There's a very slight lift on the bottom corners. I didn't bother to reinstall again as it's not really visible.

Yours is 0.22mm? My glass m box has no size mentioned. It says generation 2 on a sticker. It is the real glass m as I got from directd. Mine sending me a picture of the front part of your glass m box.I wanna match it with mine. I will pm u my number for what's ap. Hope u still got thebox .

I got mine from lowyat forumer memories fallen. I can whatsapp you the photo of the glass though.

i am using iface cover. though the phone become very bulky after installing the casing. but it look awesome from every way. I recommend forumers here to use this casing. Ultra protection and safe. didn't scratch my phone a bit at all after i dropped it for few times...

the original price of lg g2 in lazada is rm2399 and rm1699 after discount. I added in my cart for payment but the price goes back to rm2399. I tried to proceed with checkout but it is still rm2399 up to payment.

Got question. This phone released just recently around August. Rumours of LG G3 coming out in May. Should I wait to buy the G3? Or just buy now?

Usually how much will the G2 price drop usually when a new model comes out? I'm not too particular about the getting the latest model. But I don't want any model less powerful than the G2.

Also, do you all have problems getting accessories? Most important for me is screen protector and a solid casing. I'm a little rough.

You can change your keyboard. I am using Google keyboard as I got use to it while using nexus 5. There are many other types of keyboard too.

as i read on the internet it appears the cause comes from LG software whereby when an app trying to change the phone's brightness to match the contrast, LG software having issue in coping with it thus cause the flickering.

It uses min max algorithm. I don't have problem with that but i don't like how it changes the brightness. Not smooth so i've been using Lux Lite ever since. Keyboard i always use SwiftKey. The only issue for me is still the creaking issue. Can't do anything about it but it's definitely the sound where the glass and the body meets.

i thought the creaking is due to the gap between the back casing and the battery ? theres a video guide on how to solve this issue but you need to open the back casing la

There's so many 3rd party keyboard to use like SwiftKey, touchpal, A.i keyboard and etc. Just kwy in keyboard in search. Personally i prefer SwiftKey..

LOL. Bro delete some data. I am guessing your phone is full. Free up to 1GB? Also restart ur phone and try? maybe your ram full as you didn't close applications. hmm.

Woot ! after googling for so long I finally solved the problem. Seems like it's caused by my custom ROM (rayglobe), it installed some partial google keyboard files and thus deleting all of them and reinstall works like a charm biggrin.gif


For anyone who are using Rayglobe 3.2 and facing the same problem as me for installing google keyboard,you can fix it by:

1. use root explorer and search for the word "latin" in root directory
2. delete everything that are related to google keyboard ( check files directory, if it's not google keyboard related,don't delete lol)
3. restart the phone and bang ! you can now install google keyboard cool2.gif

Mine still can on and received notification but cannot do anything as the touch screen doesn't respond to any touch movement due to the crack, I think..

not to say advice lar but better you put a clear photo with the screen turn on but from your description, it sounds like the digitizer is definitely broken. The lcd not too sure.

fyi, the screen/glass where your fingers actually touch is the digitizer. The part below it where it lights up and show all your image and stuffs is the lcd.

Screen = whole display assembly (glass, digitiser, LCD and various sensors)
LCD = Liquid Colour Display, the part that turns electricity and various electrical signal into visible light.

I thought you were using the Samsung phone as i recalled. Didn't notice that you change to nexus. What about the knock on features? If you haven't got yourself a casing yet, i will strongly advice you to get iface evolution casing. Damn good! I dropped the phone on tar. Not a single scratch on the phone but the case. Worth the money!

I no longer using Rayglobe since the dev sold his G2. There are 2 other modded stock ROM that i noticed but somehow i'm on Dirty Unicorn now which is a mashup of every KitKat based ROM. Seems stable so far and no freezes like i had on CM11.

my phone suddenly got wifi problem .. I cant connect to any wifi ..eventhough I enter the wifi password correctly .. the status will always says Authentication Problem on each SSID I try to associate. I have done factory reset also not helping to solve the issue.

Guys, I'm rooted (with no custom recovery) and would like to change my firmware to D80210f-SEA-xx (currently using HKG v10b). Will I lose root?

Btw, is v10f root-able? I heard about problems with rooting v10f, but that was in december. Can the latest ioroot root v10f? Just doing this to make preparations for kitkat when it arrives here. I'm not getting updates with HKG version, so that's why I would like to change to SEA

Look in D802 Development thread in XDA. I only noticed 2. Energy ROM which is stock but dark themed. I don't quite like it. The other one is Black Pearl which i think is stock look like Rayglobe.

its not about unifi.. its about the phone itself .. cant connect to any wifi at all .. last resort ...flash back stock rom (finger cross) ... and phewwwhhh... it went normal again .. but all data inside storage is gone lah.. lucky i backup everything first before that..

Ehm there's a modded camera software already which is proven faster. Even for the speaker reviewer said it sucks, but with a simple mod it can be very loud. Don't worry lah. Just have to worry about official update hahaha...

Don't think twice ishit 5s and samsung galaxy noob4 or nob3 are no match. Trust me LG is very under rated imho.

Exactly. I have NO issues as well! This is the best phone I have ever owned. I cant believe it came out last year because I bought it 20 days back and it still seems like a new model to me haha.

Found no issues with my G2 (D802) smile.gif

Maybe AutoFocus is a little slow compared to other flagship but doesn't really bother me.

I really love the battery life survives me through the day(3G always on, whatsapp, fb, minor web surfing) when i'm back home i'll be left with 35-40% battery and i'll charge it back up.

Just FYI, there 3 different designs for iFace casing (G2) one is classical iface (sensation), another one is iface evolution/revolution (many different names for it) another one is iFace 2nd generation.

Not sure whether the names are right or wrong. But i am certain there are 3 different types of iFace casing for G2. biggrin.gif

Actually , we r both wriong . Seems there are more from iface for G2 now then before , iface first class ( hour glass shape ) , ifsce revolution , iface sensation huch u refer 2 as 2nd gen and now Iface flip and even iface Innovation , etc . . .

Just go Here n search n u can see all iface have 2 offer . Sadly , most dont do international shipping .

I believe you can do your quick window setting at setting.

Settings> General> Accessory> Quick Window setting.

Just be positive .. if they willing to refund .. for me its good enough to say that they are a good responsible seller .. because the method of delivery is using free postage without any tracking number .. there are possibility the parcel can get lost or being stolen .. the casing I order from 2 different seller ...1 in china and 1 from korea ... I suspect it lost when arrived in malaysia airport.

customization is limited to LG's built in option. Go to settings --> accessory to enable quick windows

for customization you actual have to do it from the quick window itself, the options are something like this

1st window is clock + lock screen background. For this window, you can swipe up or down for different type of clocks
swipe to the left, u get 2nd window which is clock + weather
swipe another time, u get 3rd window which is the LG music player

thats about it.

there is a mod in xda to make the quick windows display more type of notification alert. currently it only shows missed calls and SMS if i'm not mistaken

Hi all i feel that when i knockon my phone it will delay few second only light up, however if use button it wont delay, is this normal??

Shouldn't be a problem. Imagine people tap u twice and pressing ur button when u sleep.. Which will wake u up faster? brows.gif

U need to send sms to 28882 and type
ON 4GLTE

Wait for next sms and follow the instructions.

Make sure your sim is not the old sim..

I'm getting this phone soon. Was thinking of getting Note 3 but I'm pretty sure I won't be using all of its feature and whatnot, not worth it for the extra RM300. I have to ask, do we still need to charge 8 hours prior to 1st time charging?

I mean on your 1st time charge after you get low battery, did you charge up to when it's fully charge only? So no more crap on 8 hours first charge thing?

But no harm if want to do so .. even the guy from the shop I bought the phone also tell me to charge it 6 hours after draining the battery for first time.

charge until full then ok dy....even whole day charge also no problem.....
btw this phone battery life is freaking amazing....enjoy!!!

but i m not sure with red g2

yes flashing and rooting will void warranty. but there is some method to unroot and flash stock rom also..
