QUOTE(velthan @ Mar 12 2025, 03:37 PM) Hi seek advice for Proton E.Mas tinted. budget RM2k ~ RM2.5k I also doing survey now. will get my new car soon (vios). RhinePro - Black Beauty - RM2200 (RM1800 after less) IrisPro - Elite - RM2688 (Yet negotiated) 3M Crystalline - RM2400 Special price Raya promo Really headache as still not sure which one i should choose. so far survey 5 shops: m pro tinted at puchong - rm2040 (after discount) for multi-layer sputtered film (IRR 99%. Royal Series); care kool at puchong - rm2600 for multi-layer sputtered film (IRR 96%); vkool/llumar (same boss) at OKL - rm3xxx (IRR 95~97%) raytech at OKL - RM3500 (after discount) for RX shield smith at OKL - RM2800 (multi-layer sputtered - IRR 97%) or rm1800 (mix nano-ceramic + sputtered, IRR 95%) 3M - no survey yet. Toyota got provide tinted but only normal tinted and come with RFID on windscreen. So means if i choose multi-layer sputtered, i have to tear off the RFID and buy a new 1 to stick on headlight or what. I need sifus here advise, i should go for 3M nano-ceramic (non-metalized based) OR multi-layer sputtered (so can get highest hot reflection) OR mix (nano-ceramic + sputtered, but RFID and smart-tag still detectable)????? 2nd question, should i request the shop tear-off ALL the original tinted from Toyota (only remain rear windscreen tinted)? |

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Mar 20 2025, 11:49 AM) Tint is inside the car, RFID is stuck outside the car, not affected by tint. because of tinted warranty by other shop, if 2 tinted stick together it's hard for warranty judgement. If really don't want Toyota tint, try ask SA to stop the installation as it is the last step before wash & delivery my friend tried before at TNG center (got device to sense the RFID to test it on spot), the RFID if put on windscreen or any metal place, even it's stick outside the screen, it also failed to sense the RFID. so, it's affected. that's why some ppl still prefer 100% ceramic based, so they can use their access card/ RFID/ smart-tag smoothly without trouble. checked with SA already, toyota won't do by request, they default give u what then they give saja. u want tear off or not, that's ur business already. I did install the rfid at their center using the reading device. My SUV, it installed at the left headlamp, based in usage, 100% workout. my friend tried before at TNG center (got device to sense the RFID to test it on spot), the RFID if put on windscreen or any metal place, even it's stick outside the screen, it also failed to sense the RFID. so, it's affected. that's why some ppl still prefer 100% ceramic based, so they can use their access card/ RFID/ smart-tag smoothly without trouble. checked with SA already, toyota won't do by request, they default give u what then they give saja. u want tear off or not, that's ur business already. Can skip the tint effect for Rfid |

QUOTE(cheemm @ Mar 20 2025, 12:48 PM) because of tinted warranty by other shop, if 2 tinted stick together it's hard for warranty judgement. RFID signals are sensitive to interference from metal. If you place RFID too close to car metal body or on metal body, the signal will go haywire as well.my friend tried before at TNG center (got device to sense the RFID to test it on spot), the RFID if put on windscreen or any metal place, even it's stick outside the screen, it also failed to sense the RFID. so, it's affected. that's why some ppl still prefer 100% ceramic based, so they can use their access card/ RFID/ smart-tag smoothly without trouble. checked with SA already, toyota won't do by request, they default give u what then they give saja. u want tear off or not, that's ur business already. So if you used metallic sputter tints and RFID can still work on it, that is fake metallic sputters...hahaha. Users of metallic sputters tints like me always place our RFID on left headlamp. Frankly, I changed windscreen more often than headlamps. At least all my decade old cars have change windscreen (stonecrack) at least once but most never change headlamp (coz no accident). If put on windscreen, all my RFID tags have to buy again. On tint warranty especially if you tinted the premium one, you right on it. Even if 10 years warranty, it will likely be voided or blame the 1st tint inside. If you don't care about warranty, no issue. Of course if anyone one of the tints cause issues, both tints kena...
