Guys, let say my front glass pecah, and Im using 3M. My insurance cover for the windshield, but does the 3M will reinstall back the tinted ? Is that what the 5 years warranty for ?

Each brand has several series of tint. To avoid interference with RFID, avoid use metallic dust particle type which is used in one series of V-Cool as I remembered it. Other brands also has metallic dust based tint. Best is ceramic based. The one use dye based is cheap but it easily become discolored and not last that long. Metal interfere with RF signal.

Smart Tag is based on light in IR region. Many tint claims high IR rejection rate but number can be deceiving. Since IR has very wire frequency range, many does not specify at what frequency it is measured. They probably tested it in wide range but pick the number with highest rejection. I could not remember the IR wavelength of the Smart Tag but this is why Smart Tag still operate properly even though the tint has very high IR rejection number.

Many tints do affect Smart Tag to some degree when newly installed. That is why cars get stuck at toll  .  However any brand cheap or expensive one will degrade like a good one after 2 years will have no problem with Smart Tag. This is the reason why even good and expensive tint feel like not blocking much of heat from sun after 2~3 years 

I have used VKool and also Haverkamp (now market under KRÖPELIN brand?). In beginning you have to drive quite slowly to get Smart Tag detection. So, I just lower the window glass and shove out the Smart Tag. After certain time you will find that you will not longer need to do that.

The long warranty I believe never about the ability to block but on the appearance of the tint like no bubbling, wavery vision, etc. So, the question would be whether you want to used cheaper tint that you can change every year for best performance or use the tint that cost thousands so that you do not need to go for re-tint ever one or two years 

I'm using 3M Crystalline series. It doesn't affect RFID (pasted outside of windscreen), it doesn't affect condo access card, but it affects Smart Tag.

I'll still choose 3M if I tint my next car. It's been 6 years and the tint still performs like Day 1 (but my car is parked in sheltered car park at home and at work).

No fade no bubble just perfect. Ceramic based so no issues with smart tag. RFID also no issue (my guard house uses rfid sticker — I stick it inside the car windscreen).

I am using their diamond series for the whole mpv. so far so good.

Diamond series have problem for smart tag and rfid (put behind ws). you need to take black beauty series if you are using both of them.

Really headache as still not sure which one i should choose.

so far survey 5 shops:
m pro tinted at puchong - rm2040 (after discount) for multi-layer sputtered film (IRR 99%. Royal Series);
care kool at puchong - rm2600 for multi-layer sputtered film (IRR 96%);
vkool/llumar (same boss) at OKL - rm3xxx (IRR 95~97%)
raytech at OKL - RM3500 (after discount) for RX
shield smith at OKL - RM2800 (multi-layer sputtered - IRR 97%) or rm1800 (mix nano-ceramic + sputtered, IRR 95%)
3M - no survey yet.
Toyota got provide tinted but only normal tinted and come with RFID on windscreen.
So means if i choose multi-layer sputtered, i have to tear off the RFID and buy a new 1 to stick on headlight or what.

I need sifus here advise, i should go for 3M nano-ceramic (non-metalized based) OR multi-layer sputtered (so can get highest hot reflection) OR mix (nano-ceramic + sputtered, but RFID and smart-tag still detectable)?????

2nd question, should i request the shop tear-off ALL the original tinted from Toyota (only remain rear windscreen tinted)?

Hi sifus, looking for recommendations to tint my 1st gen Myvi SE.

I just want it to be as dark as possible in compliance to JPJ, heat rejection etc. is a plus.

If possible i also don't want it to interfere with Smart Tag.

And of course, looking to spend as little cash as possible haha. Just need something "good enough" so that people cannot see inside my car easily, and not too hot inside when park under the sun (which doesn't happen that often, which is why this is just a good to have).

Was on vkool for my previous car and Magnus pro for my g20

However my fiance is getting a new seal, any cheap bang for bucks recommendations for 1-2k tint since this is a rather cheap car
