what I understand is, when you install 3M film...there is some kind of small 3M watermark logo on the film, they will wipe it off after installation. You can chk first before they cut the film.

hi everyone, my car was tinted with Huper Optik on 1 August (11 days ago). when i washed it yesterday i noticed small, single bubbles in different spots in the tint film. when i called my tint shop they said to wait for a month plus before going back to check because they claim the film hasn't fully dried yet and the bubbles may go away. they also said i can use a credit card to flatten the bubbles. so i wanted to ask from your own experience whether this is true or i'm being conned. and if the bubbles are still there after a month, should i ask them to redo the whole tint? or are small bubbles generally unavoidable? appreciate the help

A responsible installer will replace it if confirm the bubble is permanent. I dont think you are being conned - Huper Optik is a good brand and their authorised dealers are listed in the website. Can PM me where you do and how much for what car? I am also considering but may choose Raytech instead for higher TSER. This post has been edited by enochtan3668: Aug 11 2014, 01:16 PM

If the bubbles are like white milky color (water vapor form), then they are very likely to dry up after few days-weeks time. Allow sometime for them to dry up I do not recommend you to fix the problems yourself using a credit card because the laminating layer is already semi dried, you might make it worse if you do not have the necessary skills. Hope it helps. Cheers This post has been edited by Lord Gitsy: Aug 13 2014, 11:35 PM

You can chk first before they cut the film. This is one of the way to check for original 3M product. And we will only wipe it off in front of the customer after our customer satisfied with the installation done. To be safe it is always better to go for 3M authorized applicator to get your 3M solar film.

QUOTE(kitongti @ Jul 31 2014, 06:10 AM) Thanks Lord Gitsy... But why at normal tinted shop they only charge rm50? big difference... Hi Kitongti, Thanks for support 3M Ampang. As for your info, Some shop do charge cheap for remove tint as they are using strong odor chemical to remove it. We are using odorless chemical to remove tint for our customer best comfort in their ride. Customer satisfaction and comfort is our 3M Ampang top priority.

Solar film cure period is about 4 weeks and Security film is about 8 weeks. Not recommended to use the Credit Card to flatten it yourself. This will become physical damage if scratches. Just be patient and see after a cure period time

Hi Sir, If your 3m scothshield is just applied within a year, then you may add another layer of better heat reject series like 3M crystalline series or 3M nano series. No issue for warranty claim if you choose back 3M film.

Just be patient and see after a cure period time thanks enochtan, lord gitsy and shaguarbb for replying, i feel relieved now is there anything i can do to help the film cure, e.g. parking in the sun? and to confirm, is it ok to wind down the windows during the cure period? also, earlier in this thread a few people were asking how to verify that the tint used on the car is really the brand we wanted. shaguarbb, is there any way to tell that a tint film is a huper one? thanks again!

There's a 3m center newly opened.. is the warranty valid?

Because you appl new layer, the new layer warranty is by the new branch. If by any chance you do visit kl, feel free to come over 3M Ampang, we will be happy to serve you.

QUOTE(billysiah @ Aug 11 2014, 04:59 PM) any recommendation for best heat rejection just for the front screen? Front windscreen need to be min 70% VLT compliant with JPJ and this is including default tinting done by manufacturer. Based on review here, so far the popular choices such 3M, Raytech and Huper Optik seems ok with heat rejection although the FWS is usually only 70% VLT while the sides range from 50% to 60%+. Some even do 40% VLT.
