OK so I went to VNESS tintshop yesterday in Sect 15 Shah Alam for the Hamel tint promo. Here are the results:

1) They tried to upsell me the Hamel III package. I refused.
2) Hamel II RM559 package ended up costing me an extra RM150 to tint the std size sunroof + RM80 to remove the old tint. Add in GST, I ended up some RM940 poorer. On a hindsight,  should have rejected that sunroof quote...
3) They called me an hour later saying they couldn't remove the old tint from my rear window without destroying the rear window de-mister element. I had no choice but to let them destroy it.
4) When I collected the car, they didn't tell me about the rearview mirror they broke too. I called them later and raised hell, then he agreed to let me buy a replacement and give them the receipt for a refund.

Broken rearview mirror.

Hamel II promo says 50% VLT. Does this look like 50% VLT to you? And it looks to me like the front windshield has the same tint as the side windows too, and this results in an annoyingly hazy view for the driver whenever direct sunlight hits it. WTF man...

That is bad customer service. They should offer to find replacement for you instead of asking you to claim them.
You can measure the VLT of the film with "Tint Meter Inspector" which always use by PUSPAKOM

Money gone edy, no point crying over spilled milk.

The most I can do I share my experience regarding this Hamel crap at Vness tint shop.

I guess I will need to look for a cheap plain light black tint to add on to the rear glass after the Hamel tint fully cures.

50% VLT my brown arse...

Genuine USA product might cost u higher but it's worth for u to invest on your car for longer lifespan of car tinted. You may take a look bro.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for your recommendation bro. I just do my best service for Lowyat forumer only.
In window film market, there are 2 main things that must be remembered.
1. Find the right USA brand
2. Deal with the trust-able seller who can give u good service as in each brand also has many sellers too

Regards & Have a nice day bro smile.gif

Hi bros, anyone here installed 70% VLT FWS, 50% VLT front side window, and 30% VLT for rear side windows and RWS? (Based on JPJ new rules?)

Will the car looks fugly with this tint setup? I googled image, some car looks ok, some car looks ugly. Now confused already.

What's your opinion?

Just look at those Vellfire or Estima. Depends on the car model and personal preferences.
Black tint is ok if you apply above setup, dont go for those reflective otherwise it look funny

My car SUV CX5. Not sure how it looks with the setup. Guess will tint all 50% VLT (except FWS 70%) to be safe

Hmm I guess if we put 50% VLT at front side window and 30% VLT on rear side window it would look weird.
