i tot u bought MBP 15 inch?
CY sifu has his 85mm 1.4G bokeh king.. i dun think he will shoot at 2.8 for portrait la..haha..

btw i see 200mm 1.8 photos.. bokeh is mad creamy bt then it looks super fake most of the time.  sweat.gif
200mm 2.8 enuf.
*
the distance required to use 200mm is crazily far, unless you are doing half body shoot or headshot only

85 1.4/1.8 on the other hand has better balance between bokeh and DOF drool.gif

found this god lens for sell in facebook
Rm4600 - Nikon 24-70MM F2.8 G ED N, 97% like new, excellent condition. No fungus, no haze on glass. Superb lens for FX body.

I have 85 or 70200 for that purpose tongue.gif Plus the 105 focuses just too slow for these events shots.

KL Tower.
If you can access the top floor (not observational deck) at night it'll be good.
Note that they only open this pass 7pm on very special occasions.
Unfortunately the petronas towers are in parallel so one tower is blocking the other.

Helipad bar
Similar to KL tower... but I believe there's the Maxis building blocking part of the view.
It's definitely open pass 7pm.... however I believe you need to purchase something or build some relation with the manager for him to let you up there.

Both places above are open air roof tops. Which means they don't have pesky glass to introduce flare. This also means that they're subject to weather. If it gets even slightly windy, the place will be off limits.
*
ehm thanks for the info... both open for public?

i wanna ask noob question here. I have a 50mm 1.8 and using a D90.

I was looking into a 35mm 1.8G as well, and i was just wondering other than the difference in the focal length. Whats the difference between this 2 lens. Forgot to mention 35mm is DX while the 50mm is a FX lens.

I wanna know, does the 35mm 1.8 performs better than the 50mm? or shall i forget the 35mm and just stick with the 50mm.

I dont think it will perform better... U just get the one with the focal length that ur confortable with... If ur feel ur current lens is wide enough for ur needs, than just stick with it. sweat.gif

If u plan to upgrade to FF in the future, then just keep the 50 thumbup.gif

for most of us, we prefer 35mm in crop body. since it's more usable indoors n outdoors. Well, wait for 35mm FX coming on 7th Jan. then only decide.

both slightly diff but i was copy the the basic idea from [PF] T.J. detail u can see from the flickr

Lens - tamron sp90
Aperture - f/16
Shutter Speed - 1/200 secs
ISO - depend to the place

Flash fired at 1/32

this time not really go for magnification liao, just crop the photo if want higher magnification.

D800 seems like a bad camera for macro.. f/8 is the diffraction limit and usually go bout f/16 or so?

Good one hehe thumbup.gif
Higher magnification = shallower DOF, very hard to get the whole thing in focus, so its better to just take from farther abit then crop hehe notworthy.gif

I don't know much about diffraction lol.. macro shots are often taken at F11- 16 to try and keep things in focus hmm.gif
But the D800 is an awesome camera for macro, mainly because of its very high MP counts for cropping, and of course, the uber dynamic range wub.gif wub.gif

Macro shots for today~
Insects/Spiders from Pulau Jerejak. Animals or insects on islands are always the most special since they were cut off from the "original" population within the mainland, so as time passes, they will breed with those on the island, and follow their own evolution pathways and becoming different species, looking very different from "original" laugh.gif Interesting~

you hardly can get any more D600 new nowadays, unless its a 2nd hand or old stock in certain shop.
