Hi bros, just got my Nikon D7000 and a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens not long ago.
Loving it so far, has a lot more options and much to learn compared to any DSLRs I used previously

Working distance is one issue, most lenses below 90mm have to be very close to the subject to achieve 1:1. Besides, like TJ said, most photogs own a 50 prime already, so a 60 would only be a dedicated macro lens. While
a 90/105 works as a dual purpose lens, for portraits as well as macro. Hence more useful.

Tammy 90 very good lens, sony's thread fansoption got a lot nice macro with his 90mm tamron.

When you macro need kaki, feel free to find me to tag along. haha 

A white paper would not be a good option..

Because it is thin/transparent, unless it is a pure white cardboard than that would be a better options..

If you are so concerned about WB, maybe you can get an EXPO Disc which would give u accurate WB at the same time convenient! You'll save plenty of time that way

I would normally shoot in Auto WB in events and all and manipulate later in post processing!
