Where are you getting this lens? You're using it for architecture?

The one I'm lusting is the 24mm f/3.5 PC Nikkor.

*
the 24mm pc-e is too pricey...
this 1 i get rm2k only...

yup.. planning for architecture shot for client..
need to train a little

test shot using PC nikkor 35mm f2.8 wide open on nikon d600
the lens is sharp, the bokeh is smoother than my 50mm f1.8g and my 85mm f1.8g

same here.. just got the lens a couple of week now..
still learning (especially how much to shift for certain height, distance)

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Jan 12 2014, 12:36 PM)
i don't see the bokeh is smoother than 50mm 1.8g and 85mm 1.8g. shocking.gif

in fact, the bokeh doesn't look good at all. cool2.gif  whistling.gif
*
hahaha.. biggrin.gif
maybe i like the way it render the transition from focus to OOF area...
nevertheless, its not scientific, later i will post side by side comparison, if i got time
(if more bokeh sure any 50 n 85 more bokeh than 35mm)

speed for stills it's alright, but lets say you want to track something, then mirrorless can't do that well. oh you want to get it solely for travel? then of course you won't be needing a 70-200  tongue.gif
*
Haha.. Same dilemma as me before..
Now quite happy with x100s
Autofocus is quite ok for travelling

Haish.. Now using 3 system..
All with their own strength
Everytime want to photoshot had to ponder
Wich one will i bring

I nearly jumped ship couple of days ago  tongue.gif  Felt dslr bit bulky and thought of getting mirrorless camera instead (was considering Fujifilm or Sony). But to start fresh with a new system will cost me more so I decided to stay with Nikon. Will be saving for D7100.
*
hahaha.. rclxms.gif
im already goes to mirrorless
using sony nex
and fujifilm
but still keeping my nikon
nothing beats dslr in focusing and flash system
(not yet anyways)

The vignette is only fine is the subject is close. The further the focus is, the more the vignette.

Not just noise, you can shoot D600 underexpose in such a bad way that you can +1 +2 +3 or even +4 stops of exposure in post without much artefact.
*
Yup.. The dynamic range of latest generation ff camera
Still quite latitude to recover. Especially in the shadow recovery.
The way it retain colour in high quality iso...

The reason im still using d600 even now already have 2 fujifilm camera..

Not ready to comment on this yet tongue.gif, haven't shot much on the 1855, but the 23mm is sharp and nice! So far I'm shooting indoor more, so yes shooting on the 23mm more frequently and so far I'm impressed!
*
Haha.. Better continue on the fuji thread though...

Hi, it is very unfortunate that there was a small flood in my home and now both my D5100 and Nikon 1 camera is soaked with water.

Both cameras are now left to dry. Are there anything I can do in the mean time to save them? sad.gif

My DSLR is brand new ... ugh
*
a side story...
my once my nikon lens (dont remember which, but got afs)
drop inside a river, waist level water.. spend a good 3 hour try to find the lens in murky water..
when i got it, wrap it with dry towel..
then, i put inside a tupperware and add 2 container of thirsty hypo
left it about 2-3 weeks..

and the lens work as new.. no fungus, no stain..
used it a couple more years until i sold it before moving to d700

You are most welcomed notworthy.gif

To be honest, kite shots are hard to take, because its very hard to include both the subject and the kite since the kite is so far away...

I think there are 3 ways to get a cliché shot:
1. Stand very far away so you can take in both the subject and the flying kite, but both will be very small

2. Shoot from the front, where the subject is moving (or standing) towards you, and the kite is in view at the back

3. Shoot from the top, but not that easy to get such location, was lucky to get this shot in Bali:
