I think I want to try wedding photoshoot next year. Currently I only have 35mm and 10-24 (for landscape, lol!), planning to get Yongnuo flash gun next. Is there any other equipments needed that I should be aware of? For Yongnuo flash, what particular model is good for a new flash user like me? My budget is below RM350.

And for this kind of events, Lightroom is enough right?

Last year stayed overnight, this year I'm attending wedding on Saturday so can't make it for both days. Only planning for Sunday if I were to attend hehe. Even if attend most likely will be outside only and not going inside.

CF entrance need a fee? or is free? sorry never been to one before

Read alot of entry level DSLR recommendation threads today...

Curiously i wonder why ppl seldom recommend Nikon entry level DSLR if compare to Canon and Sony? I read alot of reviews, those in depth analysis, also shown output quality from Nikon is higher than other brands in the same class. The most commendable item for Nikon is hard to learn for newbie in fact they know the quality of Nikon is better.

I dun know, before i own my D3200 less than 2 months ago, i have almost near to nil knowledge regarding the relation of exposure, shutter and aperture. But after less than 2 months, i already able to use manual mode now. Almost every night at home since i bought, i will take out my Nikon to play around even though i have nothing special to shoot (Yesterday i check my shutter count, reached 3359 just over 6 weeks), just shoot and compare the difference of each setting, read and understand the histogram, read online guide, read camera magazine (5th issue bought this week). IMO, Nikon menu setup is not as hard as they mentioned, each items has guide on that, just press a little '?' button will do. For me just same as driving a brand new manual car and learn all the characteristic from the feedback of the car.

My opinion, if ones feel difficult to learn, is not becos it is difficult, just they dun have enough patient and passion for it. Then i would recommend taking compact cam rather than DSLR, cheap and easy to use.

Just my thought.

because it's more common lo. just like why most phone shops will recommend samsung/ iphone to people when they want to buy new phone. same logic also, any brand can take good picture, just that you must like the camera you had in your hand. when i bought my 550D last year, i only took like 3-4days to master the buttons/ controls, while with my friend's nikon, i can clearly tell you nikon's menu is a lot more complicated and harder to use for beginner.
samsung actually make better cameras than sony (the NEX is really crappy imo after trying it out). and if you go and check samsung's lenses lineup, there are plenty of good glass from them (85mm f1/4,  quality macro with OS etc), while all sony offers to nex is crappy slow zoom.

The sensor might come from sony, but the image processing is still by nikon la, plus the fact that sony DSLTs have a translucent mirror in front of the sensor, affecting the quality of the output (The mirror cuts about 30% of light going to the sensor, hence the performance difference)

I thought all canon mount lenses have a built in motor? The mount is completely electronic leh, no screw drive like nikon. 

Nex cameras are quite good, again that's depending on the user comparing it to what first la.
Their menu system is too consumer-ish tho, alot of menu diving to do to access some settings, plus some aren't labeled the way you'd expect.

Canon doest have 35mm f1.8(u know canon user admirer nikon user to have cheap price 35mm f1.8? How we wish hard canon will build a cheap price of 35mm f1.8) , only 35mm f1.4 L , 35mm f2 and 35mm f2 IS , all this 3 lens is damn sharp even with wide open, and canon lenses all have build in motor , so it can be auto focus in every of canon dslr model even on 1000d unlike nikon entry level which doesnt have a motor in body.

Nikon have their own top grade lenses and canon do have too, it's depend which lenses u going to purchase, both have their pros and cons

For the camera body, if superior focus system is ur main point and high fps, get the 5dmark3, 1dx , 7d pair with the superior 70-200mm f2.8 mark2 and 24-70 f2.8 mark2

If landscape is ur main point, the d800 is just awesome pairing with the nikon nanocoat ultra wide angle to fully utilize the 36mp, dynami range is awesome too on nikon

So its come down to personal preference,  get what u need but not what u want

Nowaday consumer isnt stupid anymore, advertisment not really help unlike old day, there is so much internet SOS CILI, i would say that canon dslr is actually more user friendly , nikon menu is abit complicated haha.
About the nex's series, I personally dont like the nex too besides the nex7, the low end sony nex series is hard to change iso, aperture, ss , need always go thru menu to change it, and finally my fren sold all his lenses, adaptor to fund the fujifilm x-m1 , and he is far more happy and never miss the nex

Heard that sony is release the new nex5 right? Not sure the layout and button got improve or not, I found that fujifilm x series and Panasonic Lumia gx7 done a good job, u can stil have Dslr feel after u jumpship to either 1, a camera must have dual dail , else u will face problem when come to A , S or M mode.
