Well, try buying a new Marshall all tube head for less than 4k here.

Of course, that price is just my guess since dealers here tend to charge list price and the XXX list for USD1000++. Got to take into account shipping, taxes.....etc

i've almost 9 months of guitar playing...but i still seems not much improvement....just printed out lots of tabs to pratice when i'm free.....i think my catridge have to be replaced......

I have been playing for more than five years and I still suck!!! LOL

I can play rhythm very well but just could not get into lead playing at all.

One way to improve though is to constantly try stuff that you can't play. Start with not so challenging stuff then move on to harder stuff as you improve. It will take time but keep at it everday and you will get it sooner or later.

then found out they were made in korea.

was thinkin of that option, with wilkinson vs50 or vs100 bridge, grovers, lefty strat neck so get reverse headstock which i prefer cos of the reverse string lengths.
i already had all the parts including the mighty mite neck and body sourced locally from dealers.
the total came up to just under RM1800, with duncan designed pickups.

now that i know the mighty mite bodies arent made in the USA, well the wood is from the states, but routed everything else in Korea, so i think i'll pass on that option

But all honesty, American Workmanship isn't all that it's cracked up to be either you know..... Sure....... they have a high workmanship in terms of guitars....... but just BECAUSE it's made in America, doesn't mean it's the best. Korea (and to some degree Japan) also makes excellent guitar related stuff there too........

sokong. i have played japanese strats that sound better than some americans and mexican strats that sound better than some americans. Even my friends japanese squier jazz sounds better than some american jazzes i've played. Besides, Leo Fender is gone (RIP). What makes you think that the dude thats building the "made in america" guitars is not korean or chinese or indian etc....

It's just for names sake. I know....I wouldn't go for korean guitars either...hahaha . But they're good mind u....

i bet it wouldve been so much diff if someone told you its a korean made prs body... or a korean made jem body...lol
everyone is biased in some way...

imo its all about the assembling of the gat and the fine tuning that matters....
so i guess it wouldnt really make a huge difference
the bodies are machine-made anyway (useless you go for the "custom" US made bodies...LOL)

actually there is.
mighty mite supposedly are drop-in replacements for strats as they're licensed by fender.
but thats not the case, neck pockets are somehow deeper, so the necks might require shims.
the neck also needs work in extra finishing, fret ends, extra lacquering/polishing etc.

anyway you guys can go stick to your hyundais and korean soppy sad-case stories

well, those stuff are the lousy korean stuffs ...hahaha

actually the only fenders i've seen that are korean are the MN lite ash strats. I was actually wondering if they were licensed fender guitars.... anybody knows?

between 92-94 there were korean made fenders.
technically they were squiers, but the ones from those yrs had fender as the main logo, and squire series in small.
then of cos the squiers all came after that til the production got too expensive and had to be moved to china.

and whats MN?

I just saw it on ebay couple of weeks back. It's called the Fender Lite Ash MN stratocaster. At first i thought it was a scam, but those things are around. And it looks very suspiciously NOT fender....

Example

I dunno if its a real fender or not. It just states "Fender" on the headstock and i'm not sure if there's a serial number somewhere. In ebay germany going for about 2k....thats alot for a fake fender....

Lite Ash series is real. Made in Korea, special features are the birdseye neck and the Duncan pups.

And with US made bodies and necks, you're just paying US worker wages for what can easily be done elsewhere for much less at the same quality. Don't let the US elitism cloud your judgement.

well the ash series strat in a real fender.
i was actually looking at that model earlier today on the fender website.
falls under fender's american deluxe series which explains its high price.

think what that guy on ebay has is a older model, cos the current ones dont have seymour duncans.
yet no idea what the MN means

i still think it's weird. Especially the head stock. Just has "Fender". No "stratocaster" or "made in korea" or some serial number....And the neck bolt on plate also states nothing. I have seen Ash strat series. But i'm still not very sure about this model. Somehow it's different also because of the MN that stands after it....weird
