ANybody going to US?
I want an Ibanez RGT42DXFM which is limited to US... my ex-guitar teacher's US supplier has it, but it's a contract/policy not to ship it outside the US. Arghhh...
I'm dead bored of black, hence the reason why I dont want the RGT42DX BP which is available here.

Hehehehe..... you should have asked me 4 weeks ago man!!!! Oh well.... Hand Carry weight? Um..... put it this way..... They let me in with one of the heaviest Les Paul Epiphone had to offer....... 'nuff said. Bringing back a guitar should be no problem..... put it in a SOFT case (Hard case they MIGHT ask you to check it in and then you can kiss your beautiful guitar good bye after the luggage handlers toss it all over the place) and hand carry it along on the plane.
*
yeah man... but now oni the money is available...

if u were to put it in a road ready case with all its aluminium frame and such also cannot stand their tossing?

like chicken and egg only.
its no point buying a 100w all tube amp, and not being allowed to play it at full volume.
well, even with a good practice amp, most will only sound good at higher vols cos thats when the speaker actually opens up.

i would rather a good guitar first, then later on you can bring it to jamming studios etc etc and get to use the studio's amps.

and at least with a good guitar you have the drive to practice tongue.gif
*
I'm on ur side... i actually don't have any proper big amp... always hijack ppl's one... LOL.

Haha, I am facing the same dilemma as you, I wanted the fixed bridge version. Actually asked ishibashi about it too and the reply was it's a USA exclusive model.
*
yea, u're reffering to the RGT42DXFX... also US exclusive, like the one i wanted.

I will try my best to find a way to get it out of US tho...

Receiving it soon.

First time I'm getting a guitar with a floating trem.

Errr... what's wrong with basswood anyway??? I've never played a basswood guitar before but I guess it sounds darker than alder.
*
As far as I know, it is supposed to have a very board and even tonal spectrum.
Basswood's reputation suffered in the past due to other woods being mistaken as basswood.

Rofl... balsa. Now that'll be a super light and soft guitar.

anyway copied from tom anderson guitarworks:

Basswood
Pronounced bass like the fish. This wood gained popularity in the 80s and for a time was probably the most used wood for locking tremolo guitars. It is very light weight and produces a fairly even and full mid-range response throughout the entire band width. Many people feel it is extremely well matched with humbucking pickups because it produces a lot of the same frequencies that humbuckers easily reproduce. This is not to say that single coil tones aren't great as well. Toward the end of the late 80s, a few other species of woods were mistakenly thought to be basswood and this seemed to lead to a decline in basswood's popularity. However, true basswood does produce a very pleasing midrange tone and is the only type of basswood used here at Tom Anderson Guitarworks. Ifs natural color is light blonde to of white with little to no discernible grain. For this reason, an opaque paint color is usually chosen for a solid basswood body.

acoustic...suppose to learn e. guitar but currently hooked up with keyboard so need more time so learn some basic on acoustic 1st then switch to e.guitar...is it good to do this???
*
u can start straightaway with electric also cause u can play an electric the same way u play an accoustic but of course they won't sound or feel the same. an accoustic will always sound best as an accoustic and an electric as an electric.

EDIT: accoustic i mean folk guitar, not classical.

*
go find the G3 VCD/DVD's. sure got him. Got quite a few released adi, u can find in our local stores. Since u're from ipoh, the music shop selling CD/DVD's one or two lots away from the Music Store in Jusco/Kinta City has them.

QUOTE(Criptonox89 @ Jul 29 2006, 04:14 PM)
haha...i couldn't play the bend up part well.....coz....u need to bend up for 1/2 tone only.....over or before 1/2 tone....it's out of tone already.....that's why i like it....hahaa.....i can play 15% of the song only......
*
Well, I can play everything except the fast scales. I suck at speed and improvisation. My finger's aint fast enough, need more practice.

J-Customs???? What? The Satch's guitars?????????
*
nope IIRC, the J comes from Team J Craft, a team of Japan Ibanez luthiers. Occasionally they make very limited runs of J-custom models, pretty much the best Ibanez you can find.

examples of some of the rarer j-customs:

Gear1

it isn't painted btw, the contrasting colour of the gears is a different wood inlaid.

Yup...... I'm very impressed with the Korg.... but you really have to get the manual for it...
*
The Korg is actually one of the easiest around to use actually. Otherwise I suppose you can find the manual online.

QUOTE(H3dg3h0g @ Aug 15 2006, 07:09 PM)
Haha , I got my fren to offer me rm450 for it .
Only catch is his adaptor died, How much would a replacement adaptor cost ?? will any 9V adaptor do ?
*
The adaptor for the Korg? Original Korg new one is RM70 the last time i checked cause i lost my original one before. Got a Casio one to replace it costed me somewhere around RM40 i think. Get a relatively good adaptor and you'll be fine. Just don't buy the 10 bucks pasar malam one, from my experience their voltage regulation is bad cause i tested with a multimeter before.
Specs for it is 9VDC, Inner ring -ve, outer ring +ve.
