You gave him your house address???  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
of course not lah. we give him yours. i'll just be conveniently lounging there when the guitar arrives, and when your back's turned... er... cya later tongue.gif

And low end Gibson. Spend a bit more on some pups and all, and you'll get wher eyou wanna be.

Another reason for low end Gibson: everytime you look at your headstock and see that Epi, you'd be thinking, "hey it could've very well said Gibson"... Might not be the best reason, but aren't most guitarists brand whores? tongue.gif

490 and 498 gibson pickups arent that great.
but of cos low end gibson anyday, the menace isnt that low end.
low end is the melody maker or even the les paul special.

now the pickups i'm interested in are the seymour duncan actives that mustaine is using.
*
In relation to the high end R9s lah. Les Paul Menace, eh. First time I've heard of it. Doesn't look very traditional, eh smile.gif

Better edit:

The Goddess and Vixen I've never seen too. I like the idea of lightweight gigging LPs, and I like the look of the smaller Goddess body. But people will look at you as if you're holding a Daisy Rock... sad.gif

hey guys, a quick question...
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=302815
will a mixer like that (link) be able to:

voice me, as in mics thru the xlr input then the mixer then out to unpowered speakers. it says on the website that it is equiped with mic preamps for each mic channel...

plan to use this as a small PA for my band...
*
Not a powered mixer. There are preamps, but as said before, no power amps.

I have already messaged the guy about it, now gonna discuss with my band on what songs to play. I think it's a kinda a 'rock musical night' with lots of bands. Inverted Coma are playing too, with a young new drummer, who's my friend. thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

If you have a band, come join the gig and let's support each other! thumbup.gif gizmoduck? nerd? j0sh? Anybody? thumbup.gif
*
Hmmm. We'll see.

BTW, my buddy David used to sing (croak) for Inverted Coma. Haven't heard from them in a while...

Prepaid debit cards, eh? That's a pretty good idea. Just check to see if you can use it online. I've had some trouble before with regular credit cards.

Post a "not wanted" sign with your pic on it.
Unless you go out and get one of those prepaid cards, lah. Then feel free to come in. But the doors will lock behind you until that card is emptied smile.gif

What may be redundant to you may not be the same for others. biggrin.gif Don't forget that most of us here are students who are still living with our parents (Not sure about everdying, I don't think he was the one who brought up the issue.). Even if I have a credit card atm, it will be constantly monitored by my parents, I don't really want them to know how much I spend on my music stuff. wink.gif
*
I was just thinking how excellent this would be for students. Parents give the kid one, but the limit's capped to how much they put in. Therefore no overcharging on the card. It's pretty much just giving the kid cash, but in the convenience of a card.

i understand why of course... i was just saying that other's won't since all strats look the same. At least pedals look different right?
*
Yeah especially the Boss ones smile.gif

And you boys are all preaching to the choir. We'd all have multiple instruments of the same model and 15 reserve pedals for each type and have a nice Vox modelling amp, as well as each of the amps that Vox models in front of us, and 1763 different picks if we could.

how come you know me so well.. we didn't even meet ! laugh.gif

but i don't want 1,763 picks. everytime you sit on your couch couch, you have to clench your butt, to avoid ... hummm... "brokeback" accidents...
*
I told you not to buy the cowboy picks.

A guitar ain't a guitar without chips and wear and tear.

Example:

user posted image

The Tele on the left isn't a Tele. It's a slab of wood with 6 strings. The Esquire on the right is an absolutely stonkingly good piece of work. She's got character and a voice. She's a joy to play.

...so by estimation, I will play as good as SRV in 4/5 years time as my 'guitar' will be a real guitar then... thumbup.gif

Ah such trickery...

Deceive us to think you're bowing to Steve Jobs and then suddenly turning around to surprise us. You cunning one....

I can't see the hairline crack, and if it's not noticable, just leave it. If it's opening up, do what Erlewine would do and seep some thin cyano in.

And get fuzzy dice knobs, or metal skulls.

Oh, edited to add: Congrats!

I just saw it on ebay couple of weeks back. It's called the Fender Lite Ash MN stratocaster. At first i thought it was a scam, but those things are around. And it looks very suspiciously NOT fender....

Example

I dunno if its a real fender or not. It just states "Fender" on the headstock and i'm not sure if there's a serial number somewhere. In ebay germany going for about 2k....thats alot for a fake fender....
*
Lite Ash series is real. Made in Korea, special features are the birdseye neck and the Duncan pups.

And with US made bodies and necks, you're just paying US worker wages for what can easily be done elsewhere for much less at the same quality. Don't let the US elitism cloud your judgement.

(and anyone dares to put another european country in front starting with "I", I'll head-bump him in the chest)

Disneyland fanatic, eh? In the past year and a half I've been to the ones in Tokyo, HK and Anaheim. If I have to go again, I'll being a shotgun and blow my head off in the Small World ride, but I'll tear my ears and eyes out first.
