Meh....... Too heavy leh.....
Will see how anyways.......

If I can't bring back the Epi Les Paul for any reason, will probably get the Tone Lab SE instead......

Which would you think would be the better choice? Tone Lab SE or the Zoom G9.2tt??
*
y dont save ur cash instead? and wait for something u really need?

why settle for Tone Lab SE or the Zoom G9.2tt?? with ur gears at the moment i think the money is better invested in better single stompboxes. u wont maximize ur zakk OD, wah, etc when u use those.
*
yea....
and also right, how many efx wud u really need or want?
well.... maybe for me.... i dont use alot of efx tongue.gif so i cant really say....

ive seen alot of rats being sold in jamtank. as for mxr double shot, u can get it locally quite easily. in kl i am sure u can get it in bentley. in kuching there are a number at lee's music. like what blacktrix said, its a very heavy pedal, u have to try it for urself if it fits you.
*
heavy as in heavy sounding or heavy in weight?

i use ghs fast fret. one stick can last for 2 years. Mine hasn't dried up yet. And you get a cloth free of charge... tongue.gif

Definitely worth buying although it cost freaking rm 20
*
same here bro
i use fast frets to stop the strings from rusting too quickly
so far its been about 2-3 weeks and the strings havent turned black yet
usually it turns black in 3 days =/

and the gunk on the fretboard, i use the nail clipper blade. lightly scraping it off
haha

b4 restringing i use lemon oil to condition the fretboard [thx nick_drake wink.gif]

i really nid to get my own lemon oil... any ideas???
well.... kinda bz this week anyway

@ criptonox89
haha same ere, been continously listening to a few of his songs

i see...i thought the given cloth is to wipe the guitar......but it'l left plenty of silkafter a wipe......consider as useless....so i just keep it away....now i use silicone wiper to clean my guitar.......

bonuslink card to scrape ur fretboard? sounds weird......is it the dirt stuff on ur palm?
*
same green gunk from ur fingers on the strings.... if its a grainy fretboard, expect some to get lodged there.... it kinda affects the sound me thinks.... at least on the cleans...

how often u guys polish/shine ur guitar anyway?

my my
don't we all love our toys laugh.gif

Nope, I agree with you too. I like Ernie Ball Slinkies because they tend to sound brighter and more transparent to my ears but I just can't stand it when it turns black as quick as an hour!

I've read that there're strings that not only sound good but also withstand rust for a long period but they're not available here. sad.gif I used Stainless Steel strings once, it lasted quite long I think, but in the end it still rust. I don't think I liked the sound of them... couldn't really remember now.
*
how bout elixirs???
how does those perform???
heard their pretty pricey... 50 per pack?

my fav sounding strings were fender nickel coated.
but they break damn fast, so i dont use them.
they had a real warm sound.
but i've been using ernie balls for a long time anyway, nice compromise.

and turning black and rusting are completely different.
anyway, even if you play for fun you should be changing strings at least once a month
*
man
if i change once a month i'd be flat broke

i change all the strings once in 6-7 months when the high e string breaks
if not, it stays... =/

i need some advice on the marshall powerbrake.

Currently i am using an EXEF load box (non adjustable) to suck some power away (the band is complaining about loudness... tongue.gif ´)...however with 200W the box is not doing enough. I would have to have maybe about 4 of those to drain enough power to crank the amp up.

in terms of loudness i think it's not even halved. Would the marshall powerbrake be able to reduce the loudness of an amp by half or more?
*
another fellow forumer here uses a THD hotplate on a 18w fulltube marshall
slayer i tihnk is his nick, faily inactive now....
no idea how effective it is tho

bassix, post ur gear in flash us thread!!!!
seems like u got an a$$ kickin rig wink.gif

QUOTE(plankton @ Jul 3 2006, 09:18 AM)
yesterday went to CK, JS, Bentley, Chambers and the Yamaha shop at kl plaza..
went to JS first, n Jaya Satriani was demoing the line6 head, really cool amp head, with all the effects etc. theyve got almost all the new ZOOM models, the G7.1(dun really remember which model exactly, but i think its this one) was going for 1300~

Then went to JS, tested the Vox Wah there.. i didnt like the distortion on the pedal.. the 3 wah sttings; Mo, Lo, n CBY way models were almost the same. the other two were a bit different. i tried a few settings with the Q n diff models then went off to Bentley. the price was listed as rm600 n after discount rm500, Last model etc etc..

At Bentley, my fren tested 2 ibanez guitars, i think one of them was the SZ n the other one looks abit like a les paul. the SZ neck was quite nice, easy access to higher frets bcos of the set neck n the string was thru the body. nice long sustain.
Then i tested out the 535Q Chrome since they didnt have the normal 535Q's in stock.. All i can say bout the pedal is, i like it smile.gif . the pedal's sweep was bigger than the Vox V-wah. The Boost button was a plus, but the switch is on the side, so i think it would be a bit hard to switch it on off when your playing but it supposed to be set b4 u play it i suppose.. the range settings were a LOT. n i could get the very high n low frequencies, for funk n distortion. the wah on the higher notes could be heard, unlike the wah in my GFX8.  tested it for a while then shot off to Yamaha. the price for the normal 535Q was around rm500 quoted by the salesman.

At Yamaha , tested the Epiphone LP, rm2300 through a Yamaha stack. really nice n chunky sound biggrin.gif after discount was rm2000.

At Chambers, tested the Yamaha AES through a Cube 60. to me, i felt that the AES sound was a bit thin. the fretboard finishing was a bit bad i think.. but maybe i was spoiled by the LP i tested at Yamaha  laugh.gif .
After Chambers went home but the stupid Summit traffic light jam kept me waiting another 45 minutes to reach home.

btw, i went to 7 Eleven on the way back, and noticed they were selling these Prepaid Mastercards from Am Bank smile.gif . u get a mastercard, an du top up the value like a phone prepaid. max rm10,000. and the good thing is, u dont need to have a fixed salary n the approval is guarenteed biggrin.gif.. *off to look at online guitar offers*
*
did u test the epi LP custom???
realise there was a broken string????

yea that yamaha stack was cool btw, the knobs turn by themselves!!!!
Lol. it wasnt me rolleyes.gif
