I received the letter today and there is 1 statement for GE card stated as below
"We are also giving you an additional RM50 rebate upon a minimum retail spend of RM2500 in the month of January 2014!" So for those still holding the GE card, don't miss this. Spend RM2500 in January 2014 and you will get total 3% rebate (1% + additional 2%). |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Dec 5 2013, 11:01 PM) besides the benefits/discount on watami deals, this card also offers 3% cash rebate for non-watami transactions (except for petrol). How about the Alliance You:nique ? It is also giving 3% rebate... I just read about this card, the catch to earn the 3% is every quater must spend at least RM3000... |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Dec 6 2013, 12:13 AM) How about the Alliance You:nique ? It is also giving 3% rebate... for alliance you:nique, it has tiers as below:I just read about this card, the catch to earn the 3% is every quater must spend at least RM3000...
which means, if you spent rm5,000 using alliance you:nique, you will only get the cash rebate of: 0.50% for the first rm1,000 = rm5 1.50% for the second rm1,000 = rm15 3.00% for the third rm1,000 = rm30 0.30% for the fourth and fifth rm1,000 = rm6.00 total = rm5+rm15+rm30+rm6.00 = rm56.00 but if you spent rm5,000 using aeon watami, you will get the cash rebate of: rm5,000 x 3% = rm150 conclusion: the total cash rebate you earned using aeon watami is close to triple of the cash rebate you earned using alliance you:nique. I just published a brief review of the once again revamped OCBC Titanium MasterCard.
In my opinion, the OCBC TMC is a pretty good Entry Level Card for those who need it for emergency cases only since it is FREE FOR LIFE Click here to read my review of the OCBC Titanium MasterCard - Once Again Revamped. |

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Dec 6 2013, 04:31 PM) The OCBC TMC with RM24K annual income requirement is great for those unable to qualify for the MBB 2 Cards and need a card for occasional usage. For petrol, like I mentioned, there are better options. If one has MBB2 Cards, I don't think they be bothered with OCBC TMC - that is if they spend less than RM10K per year with their MBB 2 Visa or MasterCard. And if one does spend RM3K to RM5K per month, Alliance credit cards are better compared to the OCBC TMC at places that do not accept AMEX. However, for big spenders (more than RM10K per month) who needs Visa or MasterCard, then the 1% offered with the OCBC TMC is pretty good at places that do not accept AMEX. Then again, for big spenders, they should be able to qualify for other better cards. OCBC WMC does offer 1.2% cash back but the annual fee is high and not even FREE if one is an OCBC Premier Banking customer. |

However, the requirement to waive the annual fee is quite tough for me... e.g. for MBB VI, one need to spend at least 50k per year to waive the annual fee. Is there any other alternatives that can waive the expensive annual fee?If one has MBB2 Cards, I don't think they be bothered with OCBC TMC - that is if they spend less than RM10K per year with their MBB 2 Visa or MasterCard. Is there any other alternatives that can waive the expensive annual fee? OT, but I guess I will answer your question here.If you had read my article Visa Infinite - Allaince Bank vs Maybank vs UOB Bank, the Alliance Bank VI is FREE with Privilege Banking. As to your question is there other ways waive the expensive Maybank VI annual fee, I don't know since I have been getting auto annual fee waiver for the last 2 years. However, the MBB, Alliance and UOB Visa infinites are only good for converting to Enrich Miles because their overseas admin fees are high ranging between 3% to 4% as Visa International since few months back increased their conversion rates. If you don't really spend much on overseas transactions to get reward points to redeem for Enrich Miles enough for you to get a Business Class ticket - click here to read my article Enrich Miles Sales Is Fantastic for Maybank Visa Infinite 5X Treats Points, I suggest you click here to Pin Thread on Overseas Transactions where many of us report and compare different cards conversion rate. Cards like OCBC and AEON have reported to have low overseas conversion rate. |
