actually someone suggested that we should request more than rm50, for example rm100 or rm150, because a mere rm50 does not benefit us as it goes straight to the gst.  laugh.gif
and that person actually did receive rm100 or rm150 from the bank (standchart if not mistaken).

just call and ask for it, saying that you are loyal user of the card with huge transaction records and with prompt payment (they can verify from their system).

some banks are easy and will absorb the gst for you. for eg, credit a rm50 into your account to offset it or give you certain amount of points for you to redeem the gst.

but some banks won't absorb it for you. they will always reject your request, even if you threaten to cancel your card.

Hi, I would like to ask about the cash advance thingy. I've got this CITIBANK clear card and I'm wondering if let's say I'm about to use the card to withdraw some cash due to emergency. What are the interest rates?

QUOTE
Citibank: 5% of cash amount (min RM20), and 18% p.a. daily interest (N/A for Ready Cash)

means if I withdraw 1k today, the interest will be charged everyday until I pay up the full amount of 1k + interest?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, not sure the question should be post here or not.

Just curious to the credit card debt,
How the bank going to collect the credit card debt if the card holder is passed away? His children/family members need to responsible for the card holder debt?

When signing up the credit card, there's no guarantor, So where will the bank get the debt from? Let's assume the debt is large amount like 30-40K, previously only pay 5% interest every month.

this is possible but unless they get express consent from you, this is fraud.

the merchant does not get any consent from me that this is a cash transaction. any advice on how to report this?

Public bank told me that there is no other way round to void this.

thanks

ask them to go fly kite
if they refuse to accept it as fraud
file a complaint to the dispute escalation channel for the bank
if that fails only then report to BNM

Who is the merchant? Casino or gambling-related?
