The time has come once again for me to show off My Credit Cards and Debit Cards Collection for 2014 plus bore you with my other bragging rights. If you want to see my credit cards collection, click on the link below:

My Bragging Rights and My Credit Cards 2014

In my article, I have announced that his is the last time I'll be posting my cards collection as I don't think I'll be able to qualify for any more Premier Credit Cards.

In this article, besides posting my entire active cards collection, I also did a brief review on the Alliance Platinum Visa, Alliance Visa Infinite, CIMB Visa Infinite & World MasterCard, Citibank Platinum Visa, Hong Leong Bank Platinum MasterCard, HSBC Visa Signature, Maybankard 2 Cards, Maybank Visa Infinite, OCBC Titanium MasterCard, RHB Platinum Visa, UOB Preferred Platinum Visa and UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite, as to how they benefited me.

I have just made one reservation through booking.com and it only requested the credit card number and expiry date. It is stated that the credit card is only used as a guarantee and not for immediate payment.

Few minutes later, I received an email from booking.com that the hotel is not able to process my credit card to secure my reservation.

QUOTE
Please take one of these two actions:

To use the same card: Contact your credit card provider to make sure that your card is active, has sufficient funds, and is valid for international online transactions. Then reenter the card details here.

To use another card: Provide alternative card details by clicking here. Please make sure that the alternative card is active, has sufficient funds, and is valid for international online transactions.

While I am pretty sure I have entered my credit card details correctly the first time, I give it benefits of doubt and selected the first option, which is to reenter my card details. This time, I have to enter my credit card number, name and also the CVC code.

I am curious on why they need the CVC code for the second time, but not during the initial reservation?

Hong Leong Bank has finally launched their Visa Infinite, not one but 2 versions.

However, you better read the terms and conditions of the Hong Leong Bank Visa Infinite benefits, else you will be pissed of big time especially in regards to the FREE airport lounge access. I got no idea if the HLB VI only allows FREE entry to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge or airport lounges worldwide. But it makes no difference to me; because one is a fool to use the HLB Visa Infinite for their expenses and earn less Enrich Miles compared to other credit cards which includes an Entry Level Gold credit card.

To learn more about the Hong Leong Bank Visa Infinite benefits versus Alliance Bank Visa Infinite vs Maybank Visa Infinite vs UOB Visa Infinite including versus the Entry Level Maybankard 2 Card Gold AMEX, click on the link below:

Cant wait to go home and check your blog but in the meantime, i checked the HLB Website and the Infinite Card is still not there. The highest is still their Signature Card. Is the Infinite by Invitation Only or is this a Soft Launch?

Updated on 16 Jan 2014

Hong Leong must be monitoring LYN. The links to Visa Infinite is on the HLB Website together with the T&C

http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/cc/tc_en_infinite_P.pdf

Actually, HLB VI Enrich of:

Local - RM2.8 to 1 Enrich & Foreign - RM1.8 to 1 Enrich

still looks better than CIMB Enrich which is

Local - RM4 to 1 Enrich & Foreign - RM2 to 1 Enrich

But you're right, the Card sucks compared to what u listed on your blog. Hmm, Tan Sri Quek should really hire you as their Head of Cards

This is what I got from Hong Leong Bank website

Investor Relations Contacts

Chow Hing Hon
General Manager, Performance Management

Hong Leong Bank Berhad

Fax : +603 2164 1519
Email : ir@hlbb.hongleong.com.my

Maybe you should send him a e-mail on how bad his Flagship Card is and how you can make it better and to be the Top Premier Card in MY.

For first timer, is not good (i.e. unwise) to apply for the "better" credit card instantly (e.g. Visa Signature)? By first timer I mean that I haven't had any credit card before. Though this will be my first card, I believe my annual income passes the requirement, and it's not by a thread. It's just I'm a foreigner working as an Engineer in Malaysia. hmm.gif

hi guys.. just got a call from a lady "claimed to be from ocbc" offering a call for cash based on my ccard .... giving 5K cash with 6% Flat rate.
Basically does it really worth it ? Flat rate =/= effective rate right ? I assume the interest we will actually pay is around 10% per an. ?

- If im not in need of money.. this is def. waste right ?
- what if i use the money and clear my other bank's credit card ? 10% is still better than 18% ? hmm

Or is this a scam ?

Which cards still give good rebate for overseas spends like HLB Wise's ex-promo of 10%?
Otherwise will use Aeon Watami Card for lower forex and 3% CB, as advised by Genx in
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2014/01...r-overseas.html
Thanks in advance.

feel that the cash back is all a gimmick, i.e. capped at RM50 per month by AEON watami and CIMB cash rebate card...get you hooked and the interest on outstanding charges easily snowballs beyond the RM50 rebate.

CC is only suppose to represent a convenient method of payment. Meaning, instead of carrying cash, u carry cards.

If u don't have the Cash to pay in full when statement comes, don't swipe and u will never be paying the CC any interest.
