You don't need to cancel, just go apply the Plat, once it is approved then cancel the Titanium. But why you want the Plat which earns you less in returns  rclxub.gif plus the fact it is not FREE FOR LIFE unlike the Titanium.

Recently I applied for RHB credit card at their sign up booth at Tropicana mall. A few days after that I got a call from RHB, asking the usual questions (about address, workplace etc). Before ending the conversation, the CS asked me a weird question, "did our promoter offer you any other card from a different bank?"
I told her no, which is the truth. On the same day I applied for the RHB card, I did apply for HSBC Amanah credit card but it was done via email and fax.

Is it a coincidence, or is it because when processing a credit card application, banks can actually know if you have applied for another card?

last time i applied SCB Gold card at shopping mall, the sales agent in the same time ask me to apply HLB essential card together... rclxub.gif
but they told me if cs call, please say no for promoter offer other card for other bank.
I know they are not right, but i still say no to cs

Son, you're off to a very BAD start.  Forgive me for being blunt.  Just got new CC and not making full payment for your purchase is a recipe for disaster.  Before you know it, amount will snowball to your credit limit and you'll be knocking on AKPK doors.

If u cannot afford to pay in full at end of month, don't swipe.

Don't swipe anymore until u clear your current balance.
*
agree, don't use future money which u can't pay back .
we use the credit card to enjoy the benefit and making us save money

"For example, new graduates earning a salary of RM2,000 monthly buy a car with monthly installment of RM500 to RM600, regardless of other costs such as fuel, maintenance and insurance.

"So they use credit cards to support the costs. When credit card debts rise, they resort to personal loans with high interest rate to settle debts," he said.

Just wanna ask sifus here.

I've always been against CCs. Why? Coz I don't like to live on other peoples' money, per se.

But then I read on the positives of a CC, the rebate, cashback and whatnot.

Am I right by thinking that I should get a CC coz I can get cashback and rewards. And at the same time I can still pay the amount on time without any charges, therefore, I'd be making a saving and getting rewards.

Hmm.. thanks for any feedback.
*
last time i was also like that, pay everything by cash.
cc can give us alot of convenient and also emergency use.
as long as we spend what we got, not over, no debt, we can enjoy the benefit

well i dont mind to swipe my debit card/eftpos for RM2 if they allow. when i was living in australia/nz, using card to pay most of things was very convenient and you dont need to carry so much cash with you.

but dont know if this comes to malaysia, system/security will be as good or not...

ya, i dun like pay cent....

*

actually it will reduce the amount of your loans eligibility whenever a credit limit is given to each of your card (although you have not fully utilise it). credit limit will be viewed as a type of loan because there are chances that one day one will fully utilise all their cc's cl when they are in need of money.
*
ya, that why, now i got 4 cards with total credit limit about 80k.
waiting for new house launch, if ok then will buy..

The only tedious problem is the insurance. Etiqa accepts amex via phone call only, so you need to call every month to renew. Do call them up for info.

Your GE, most cards don't give you anything better. Even with insurances, u only hit 1k/mth, then no point getting watami.

The rest, you can rearrange your preferred merchants who accepts amex smile.gif
*
etiqa can go to branch, accept amex
