for amd, ram timings or mhz more important?
I know a mixture would be the ideal.
But comparing between 848@4-4-4-12 and 990@5-5-5-12

4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.2V, fail 935 and above.  rclxub.gif I thought this ram can go till 950 with these settings?
*
Mine can go 4-4-4-4, 2T @ 2.1v @ 950mhz. Tested it briefly at 1020mhz at 2.2v and it passed superPI (didn't test with memtest or blend test in orthos though)....

I'm using normal ballistix but I've seen forumers saying that the tracers are a bit hotter due to the LEDs. However, you can overcome this by putting some fans on the rams.....

If you ask me, the normal ballistix is more than enough. However, if you want bling bling, then obviously you should go for the tracer....

I'm not a ram expert but this is what I understand.....

1T and 2T refers to the command rate - the rate at which commands are issued to the rams. 1T is faster than 2T and as such, it is preferable to set your rams to 1T. However, if you overclock your rams, you might want to set it to 2T so that you can get higher OC, the slower 2T is made up for by the higher speed and bandwidth.

However, this is generally true for DDR rams. For DDR2 rams, they generally run at 2T but ASUS has come up with mobos that can run at 1T, which is slightly faster..... Dunno whether other mobo manufacturers has any such mobo....

Some DDR2 ram modules are also produced to run at 1T...... smile.gif

Hehe, sorry, my mistaken. blush.gif

Was actually referring to the super memspeed for the ASUS mobos which has nothing to do with the command rates.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, AFAIK, only Nvidia chipsets from nForce 600 series and AMD/ATI RD600 chipsets allow using 1T command rate setting.
