me oso afraid to put high volt to my precious ram laugh.gif

the highest i think at 2.275 tongue.gif

Any volt higher than 2.2 usually need proper cooling maybe heatspreader or better blow some air directly to ur ram.

Thats why RAM manufacturer provide extreme heatsink to cool their 2.4v rated parts.

You mean single sided rams with chipset only at one side right? smile.gif
Well actually, it all depends on the chipset also.

If the chipset sucks in overclocking, one sided or double sided doesn't make any differences also.
So the most important things is the chipset itself.

Correct me if i'm wrong guys. notworthy.gif

PCB is important also, even cheap chipset if combine with Brainpower 6 layer PCB can also oc high lor.

DDR2 with 2.2V is actually much safer if got active cooling on it.

I think almost all DDR2 value ram can set to 2.2vdimm without any hassle. They quite overclockable too. But value ddr2 rarely can reach stably 1000MHz unless for the good D9 chip.

Anyways here's my KVR 2x 1gb DDR2 667 Hynix FP-Y5 assembled in China. Not bad, 2V @ DDR2 1000. Loose timing tho.

Mine also reach DDR1000 but need to loose @ 5-6-6-18 for stable operation. Maybe try to loose like urs @ 2V, more safe.

If u read review website like Anandtech, they build a table to show overclock CPU, FSB, RAM and its timing. They include benchmark in it. Can compare which setting is better.

HyperX sure can hit. maybe @ 55515. My friend's Team Elite also can easily hit DDR2-1000 @ 2v.

Just get good chip ram then use active cooling is more reasonable. Getting 4 figure ram like dominator, even they say handpicked doesnt mean can go beyond DDR2 limitation. Such a waste..

Anyways, tested 2 sticks of KVR ddr2 667 , Kingston chips. Hit ddr2 1040 5-6-6-15 @ 2.2v. Pretty decent.

Pretty decent? Thought value 667 to reach ddr2 1000 already wonderfull. hmm.gif

Very nice idea, but maybe a little difficult to get the 'loan' ram. Anyway, u can try all ur value ram 1st or borrow from ur friend and post the result.
