Below 36k, BNM's 2 card only rule applies, no?

Plus having 2 car loans tied to your name would make most bank think twice to offer you a card since you're practically knee deep in debt Liao laugh.gif

Cheh.

Meaning even if I am earning less than 36k, I can whack all the low end cards from Bank A and still can get few more from Bank B ( Since not more than 2 issuer in this case )?

yes, but all the cards will share the same cl under the same issuer.

fyi, conventional and islamic (or other non- conventional) are considered as different issuers. for eg. mbb2cards and mbb ikhwan. even hlb wise and hlb mach.

Thanks boss.

Just 1 last question since I am curious.

If I keep pledging FD to get CC, would I still be bound by the rule of 2 issuer under 36k p.a.? wink.gif

If you pledge, you are not bound by the rule of 2 issuer and max 2 months salary CL ceiling.

I'd like to remind everyone who uses this topic to get valuable advise on CC recommendations. CC is a financial tool and it works both ways - both to help and also can be a major burden to a person.

Banks are not in a business to deny cc to an individual without any reasons. These days banks have are bound to evaluate each individual credit risks before issuing cc to them. If you don't qualify today, it doesn't mean you would not qualify forever unless you pose a credit risk to the financial institutions.

I constantly remind the seniors to be responsible when dispensing advise. Similarly, readers are reminded not to push their way for that piece of plastic. If you don't qualify, you don't qualify. Pledging FD should not be considered as a backdoor method to obtain cc nor should it be abused.

Everyone should note my non-tolerance for abuse or potential abuse of cc.

if you want to have other options:
1) pbb aia = 2% aia insurance
2) aeon watami = 3% quarterly rebate (requirements needed) on anything except petrol
3) hlb wise = 10% on selected categories (requirements needed)
4) cimb cr = 5% online
5) citibank cb plat = 5% petrol (af applies)

basically the benefits of mbb2cards is on the amex card. you will get 5x points on everyday transaction and additional 5% cb on weekends transaction. however, amex card is still not as widely accepted if compared to visa/master. so there's a visa/master as the second card as backup. but only 1x points everyday use. if you have other better cards, you may use that as backup instead of this.

i think mbb2cards is good enough for your needs?
may i know what is the reason you need another cc?

is it because mbb2cards inflate its points redemption?
or the rm50 cb cap is not sufficient? if yes, which category is not sufficient? petrol or f&b or etc?

Hi there, thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, it's due to the points redemption thingy. So just wondering if there is better credit card out there

Thanks and regards
