I enquired directly to Kristof of Punch Powertrain about the improvements on the VT3. My questions were forwarded to his colleague Fikeri Yusof. the following is the email exchange.

Although the VT3+ is currently implemented on the Suprima and Preve LE only, future Preve models will adopt it as well. Something for future Preve owners to look forward to.
There was a couple of intermediate email exchange but due to irrelevance I will omit them here. The next relevant email is below
So as you guys can see the improvements is not only software, but also the mechanical parts. Kudos to the team for answering my questions so thoroughly when other carmakers will probably shrug me off.

Goes to show Proton is not ready to rest on it's achievement with the CFE+CVT powertrain design.

It's good to know they are improving, I believe Preve as a test bed serves its purpose well, I won't be surprised that after they have passed the current phase of rebadging Accord as a temporary means, they can fully make their own D segment car biggrin.gif

I have talked to the SA in Sg Besi Proton Edar Branch~~
i've asked if the gears have been updated to VT3+, he mention yes~~
but from the post here (thanks a lot man) it seems like the 2013 Preve has not been updated with it yet~~
i really doubt what the SA told me and i doubt whether they know about what is VT3+
How come Proton Sales staff is not improved or updated? Hmm dissapointing~~
This is a damn big deterrent for me to rush for a new Preve this year~~

However, the SA mention that next year Preve variant has 6 airbags~~
wonder how much they are going to increase the Price~~

Again, thanks a lot for the info~~

I'm quite sure only Preve LE has VT3+. Preve LE also has EVP (confirmed). I think only future Preve with 6 airbags will have VT3+.

Take sales people's word with pinch of salt. They'd say anything to make a sale.

I'm not too sure, I din check the Preve LE yet but like Sanadi said...

EVP and VT3+, pretty much confirm.
In the future, Exora Bold/Preve will be equipped with VT3+ too.

Most sales people are clueless about the mechanical differences.

Mentions of VT2, VT3, VT3+, IAFM, IAFM+ are usually met by blank stares unsure.gif

All they know are leather seats, push start button, turbo and DRL whistling.gif

I believe I read in a newspapers that all features of SS but implanted into Preve LE, including the ICE.

But I'm more into waiting for aftermarket multimedia system for Preve sad.gif

Due to PaulTan recommendation, this car is similiar to the specs of the Australian-market Preve, which has scored a five-star ANCAP rating smile.gif

anyone here have experienced sending your Preve to SC EON Glenmarie in HICOM?

How is the quality of the services over there? I am planning to send my Preve for 1st service tomorrow morning because of its proximity with my office.

Can I just go there with setting up any appointment first? And can they send me to my office (in Bukit Jelutong Industrial Park) and send my car back / fetch me up from the office once they serviced my car?

EVP for hill hold assist and resolve some issue with Preve brake pedal become hard before starting up the engine.

VT3+ got mechanical changes in the gear geometry to reduce whining sound. Number of teeth, and different TCU calibration for more response. Dares have the replied from punch engineer.
