yup, my car near 50k km..city traffic jam can go around 450km. hiway or long distance can go slightly over 600km. follow speed limit n sometime overspeed oso (normally when wife n kid zzzZ) hoho. i think can go more than 600km if didn't stop go toilet n buy 'jajan' coz i didn't off engine when stop go toilet etc2..only if everybody get out from car only will off engine.

My target is 650km with normal driving style. which is never happen yet tongue.gif

I just called to iCare to reconfirm cause I was being charged on labor for 10K service at COSE. They told me the 3 times free labor charge service only valid for 1 year, applied to all PROTON cars ??!...what?!

i think you can try to do at SC instead... COSE always follow the rules...
some SC much flexible, example SC allowing me to bought my petronas engine oil by myself...

try call to this SC, Intan Matang. No far from COSE...

on my 1st service, the SC explained to me about this.thus advise to service every 5k km.

because i ask, why shud i service every 5k km? since in the manual stated service shud be done every 10k km interval.
so the first 3 service was done every 5k km until 16k km and after that only start service every 10k km.

some people blame sc saying they were conned etc.
however i wont say that SC wan to con me.they were actually helping me to make use the free voucher.

as a user/owner, we shud always ask for clarification.

another tips, whenever going service at SC, always request to wait to confirm/verify on service parts.
dun just leave key and end up being overcharge by changing the unnecessary parts.

Err it goes a bit back into history. Let's take Syntium 1000, 15W-50. The W stands for Winter, back in those days you would have to switch between different types of lubricants, during winter and not. The '50' is during normal climate, basically this oil will have its viscosity rated at '50' at 100 degrees celcius. However, lubricants nowadays are considered as Multigrades, where you no longer have to switch the lubricants depending on the climate (during cold weather period you need thinner lubricants).

Just remember the basic, the lower the numbers are, the better they are. The lower the 'W' value is, the easier your engine works, especially during cold start smile.gif

For Preve specifically, I recommend Syntium 5000 (5W-30) as I believe 90% of service centers carry Petronas product only. Usually the service costs around RM300, for 6 months interval. That's like RM50 per month smile.gif

I usually ask my Petronas contacts to buy (staff price less 30%), or if I feel like it, just buy straight from SCs near my area smile.gif

which SC is that?

ur car is new? new car engine tends to have much higher friction when it is new...this is normally due to micro imperfection of the engine~~ so it need sometime to "wear in / break in / run in" ...
some said 10,000KM....some say 5,000KM~~depending on the engine... (google it)

so after 1,000KM oil change, try to hantam you engine a bit to make sure the engine blocks sits correctly in place and reduce friction~~~

full tank (50L) for 400km in city drive with new engine wasn't that bad in my opinion...try avoid the jam and go out of town...at 100KM/hr can achieve 6.6L/100KM based on the instant FC calculation displayed~~

Anyway...dont compare Preve CFE's FC with normal 1.6 engine car~~the FC should be comparable to 2.0 car especially when u are running in city constant stop and go situation~~

I was looking at my fuel data for my ex-Accord and my Preve. Same driver, same driving style, same FC! But what the statistics don't show is that Preve FC is much better on highway compared to my ex-Accord. Compared to my dad's iVTEC Accord however, they both have similar highway FC, but Accord has worse city FC (due to my dad's driving style).

You mean how long the data went back (more data, more accurate the statistics)? 1 year+ data for Preve, 9 years for Accord.

If you mean how quickly I create the table? It was point and click. I used this software: http://www.carcaresoftware.com/

A free option that I am also using is the fuelly website. This is my statistics: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/sanadi/preve/annual

The rack pinion gear is bad. there are special valves inside to direct assist left or right. By adding a littl gas, you are building pump pressure and freeing up a sticking valve or so. A pump will not cause loss of assist in one direction. Your rack/pinion is most likely going to need to be replaced. You do however want to put a jack directly under the lower control arm on each side, leave tires on and use your hands to swing the wheel all the way left and then right. just to be sure a strup bearing is not binding. Not likely but worth checking smile.gif

quite good and friendly as my personal experience...

as i check with intan matang regarding the validity of free first 3 service... it only valid for 1 year only but the mileage can up to total 20,000km too if used full synthetic oil only during the 3 services...
