guys, i only managed to drive roughly 400km full tank. kinda low FC la.
city drive all the time, regularly travel short distance
*
ur car is new? new car engine tends to have much higher friction when it is new...this is normally due to micro imperfection of the engine~~ so it need sometime to "wear in / break in / run in" ...
some said 10,000KM....some say 5,000KM~~depending on the engine... (google it)

so after 1,000KM oil change, try to hantam you engine a bit to make sure the engine blocks sits correctly in place and reduce friction~~~

full tank (50L) for 400km in city drive with new engine wasn't that bad in my opinion...try avoid the jam and go out of town...at 100KM/hr can achieve 6.6L/100KM based on the instant FC calculation displayed~~

Anyway...dont compare Preve CFE's FC with normal 1.6 engine car~~the FC should be comparable to 2.0 car especially when u are running in city constant stop and go situation~~

Good FC if you drive in city traffic.

maybe get the lighter engine oil instead... such as Petronas 3000 5W-30 only available at some SC and spare part shop, i will going to try it after my 5000km odometer... like Petronas petrol station only selling Petronas 3000 5w-40...

with Petronas 3000 5W-30, the FC about 12km/L but 75% on PLUS highway...

Yeap highly recommend Syntium 5000 (Well, that's the best choice as most SC will only provide Petronas brand lubricant).

but 5000 a bit over since the viscosity same as 3000... hence 5000 hardly find in the market unless very old stock...

Err.. not sure at your place, but I think many SC ditch the 3000, they either sell 1000 or 5000 for full synthetic. I guess their strategy is to sell the lowest quality of fully, and the highest one laugh.gif

for my SC, they didnt carry 3000 or 5000 since the 1000 can last 10k km mileage which same as 3000...
but 1000 which is much thicker than 3000...

as 5000, i checked from Petronas petrol station, the manufacture date about 5years+, no dare go for it... sweat.gif

I usually ask my Petronas contacts to buy (staff price less 30%), or if I feel like it, just buy straight from SCs near my area smile.gif

You request directly to COSE or need to prove them the seat got problem from other SC only make appointment? i think mine also have the problem, and steering sound getting lounder.

No need to prove. Just show them on the spot. Another forumer serviced his car at Alor Setar SC also managed to change. His one is 1 year and 6 months old.

Err it goes a bit back into history. Let's take Syntium 1000, 15W-50. The W stands for Winter, back in those days you would have to switch between different types of lubricants, during winter and not. The '50' is during normal climate, basically this oil will have its viscosity rated at '50' at 100 degrees celcius. However, lubricants nowadays are considered as Multigrades, where you no longer have to switch the lubricants depending on the climate (during cold weather period you need thinner lubricants).

Just remember the basic, the lower the numbers are, the better they are. The lower the 'W' value is, the easier your engine works, especially during cold start smile.gif

For Preve specifically, I recommend Syntium 5000 (5W-30) as I believe 90% of service centers carry Petronas product only. Usually the service costs around RM300, for 6 months interval. That's like RM50 per month smile.gif

Last friday I ran over a size 8 spanner aka wrench... dont know how it got there... just my luck maybe... lost my tyre and mudguard/splash shield... went to proton SC they fix it in just 30 minutes! It cost me rm90 for secondhand tyre (from tyre shop), rm61 for the part, rm18 for labor.
