There must be a way to use the lousy router!! I've changed from channels to channels but still the same. But more depressing as I go on... now I want to reset back to factory setting but I can't get my password right (or is it my username)?

username is XXX@unifi or XXX@unifi.my?
I have been to https://occ.unifi.my/HSBBCustomerPortal/HSB...erPortal.portal?
and click change service password. I received the sms, but still using the old password (which I don't know what it is)...

I've tried the 8 digit numbers on the sticker found under the router, but still can't connect.

Luckily I've made a backup of the settings before reset it. Is there anyway to look at the backup file to find the password?

PPPoE log in is : xxxx@unifi
Password you need to call the helpline and they will tell you. Just say you want to use your own router. Keep original router as Unifi technician won't support other router.

Thanks jovial...
I don't know what I did, but at least the wifi internet connection is back to normal. I'm getting my VIP5 speed on wifi and on LAN cable as well. All I can say is now I'm on channel 11, bgn setting, 20MHz... which was my previous setting anyway before it got into problematic.

Prior troubleshoot, I have tried other channels, used my S4 to scan for neighbors' channels and try to use something other than those they have been using.. changed to just B & G, auto 20/40Mhz.. nothing works.

After all the above I tried reset to factory setting but couldn't get the password working. So I restore from the saved config settings. And suddenly this morning, it started working.

But in my experience, I think we should have a gathering of signatures, to complaint to TM that Unifi users should get toll free CS calls just like streamyx users. I also don't like the fact that they will charge RM50 for us seeking help.

Can anyone help me with logging in to the ONU "hg8240w". I tried all the 4 ports with 192.168.100.xxx IP and tried to access 192.168.100.1 and was unable to do so. However, I was able to ping the ip 192.168.100.1.

Normally, there is reset button on the router.
Just press it for several seconds, setting all back to default.

Yes

1. Security wise

refer this

http://blog.namran.net/2010/09/02/tm-unifi...-security-hole/

and this

http://www.bolehvpn.net/blog/2010/06/tm-un...e-unifi-router/

and .... many mores if you search around.

2. Better throughput

i.replacing router is better options because you get better processor router and can handle more sessions (if you do download alots)

ii.better wireless coverage areas

iii.chose the brand router you like and you control it.
