Normally the upgrade offer is offered to those near or after 2 years contract, whereby if accept the offer, another 2 years contract bound.
It is not available to everyone, certainly not for new subscriber,

As after 2 years contract, one can terminate the service and can migrate to another provider (like Maxis if available) who may use the same infrastructure.

not the case, u will receive offer letter from tm.

like my case///

i received postal from tm. a beautiful and colorful pamplet with attractive offers. since i used tm unifi for around 1.5yr. if i accept new offer. the 2 years that overlapping the current one. meaning my commitment for tm end to end is 1.5 + 2 = 3.5 yrs all total up. i'll hv to make do with existing ONT and hptv box. since i no time to watch tv. just leave it aside till they got better offer.

so far my internet experience with tm unifi no problems all way for years. this except mobile ones i mention some other thread.

Hi!
I have a problem with my unifi hypptv where the login 'ok' button cannot be pressed. I can move the cursor around using the remote control, & enter login Id & password using the on-screen keyboard. But once I've done that, when I move the cursor to the 'ok' button, & press ok on the remote, it doesn't do anything, ie not logging in. I can press 'cancel' though, ie the 'cancel' button is active, only the 'ok' button is not active. Has anyone had this problem & able to resolve it? I called unifi helpline, but they keep saying the 'ok' button can be pressed & passing me around from one technician to another but with no solution. Appreciate if anyone can help
Thank you
Regards

I don't know whats wrong with Unifi.

There are charging me to replace faulty modem and router for RM 500 ringgit.

Just install Unifi last May 2013 and upgraded existing pack to 10mb.

Anyone can advice me on this matter why they are charging for this?

Your account barely reaches a year, you weren't supposed to be charged for replacing faulty devices unless there's a lightning / water / physical damages to the router & modem.

Whose charging you?
Did the technician asked you to pay on the spot or do TM charged you on the next bill?

You still have to call the helpline to file a report.
Or else the RM500 will always be there in your bill & if it's not paid or waived (cancelled) by TM, your account will be suspended.

Received call by tm & time for their promo. Time & maxis seems to offer better value for me since im an astro user. I told tm not interested since other telco offering better price & Im not willing to be bound with them for another 2 years.

if your house can access Time network, i'd choose that instead of Maxis. the maxis thread is not that convincing enough. not to say that other telcos are perfect, all have their fair share of issues but Time looks more promising.

Personally I am using Unifi at the place i am currently renting, my family's home is going the Maxis route since it is cheaper if you want to use Astro too. and Time doesn't cover our area.

yeah, go for TIME if you can.

RM129 @ 8Mbps lehhh. much much cheaper!

Maxis' fiber has different QoS compared to Unifi's, although maxis fiber using unifi's fiber core.

At my apt (unifi fixed in Mar 2011), a UNIFI agent offered RM179 to upgrade to VP10 with free Sports Pack OR Mega Pack. Not sure if we were the 1st batch customer. Today going to confirm this. If it is true, good deal isn't it? Add RM30 and get both speed upgrade and Sports Pack..

good deal indeed!

"problem" is i dont spend much time at home sweat.gif most of my hours spend in the office (abundance use of LAN & wireless internet already 10Mbps++ tongue.gif) so, i personally wont gain much benefits to the 10Mbps speed. beauty of it, i'll be contract-free (by March 2014) drool.gif what is sux, there's no other fibre service at my area except Unifi.

on the other hand, user experience will definitely be better (fast speed = shorter download time). also, IF unifi starts to enforce FUP, VIP10 will have higher quota threshold than VIP5. since promo will extend my contract for another 2 years, there will be more upcoming promo/packs introduced in-between, perhaps.

VIP5 has covered all of my basic needs though. RM30/mo may sounds small, but accumulated across 24 months = RM720. <-- heck, this sum can be used to offset some of the increased cost-of-living wink.gif

dilemma: i have no immediate need for VIP10; i want to but dont need to blush.gif laugh.gif
