It is also speculated that the Note 3 uses the S800 M8974AB version, which is the highest binned version of the CPU with even higher GPU speeds. Updated as we know more.

The Samsung 3GB LPDDR3 mobile DRAM uses six of the industry's smallest 20-nanometer (nm) class* four gigabit (Gb) LPDDR3 chips, in a symmetrical structure of two sets of three chips stacked in a single package only 0.8 millimeters high. With a full line-up of package dimensions, Samsung's new ultra-slim memory solutions will enable thinner smartphone designs and allow for additional battery space, while offering a data transfer speed of up to 2,133 megabits per second (Mbps) per pin.

Why USB 3.0 - All phones to date have the USB 2.0 interface. This is rated at a max of 480Mbps. USB 3.0 is rated for 4.8Gbps, a 10 fold increase in theoretical maximum transmission speed. Your Gb's of will transfer much faster via USB 3.0 to your external storage device or PC. Of course you need a USB 3.0 port or compliant peripheral as well.
Before the RDF kicks in, I'm given to understand that the Lightning connectors on idevices are still USB 2.0. > link <
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sports USB 3.0 connector for faster transfers and charging - Xeactorz .....Oh, and if you’re worried about losing that micro B USB 3.0 cable and having no way to charge or manage files on your device, don’t be. Similar to those backward-compatible USB 3.0 flash drives, the Note 3 will allow you to connect a standard microUSB cable as well, so Samsung has every base covered.

Galaxy Note 3 Will Debut New Radio Power Management System, Uses 20% Less Power And 30% Less Heat Than Existing Tech ......Qualcomm achieves these enhancements in the QFE1100 by using a technology called Envelope Tracking. Essentially, the hardware tracks changes in the radio frequency and adjusts the power amplifier accordingly. Unlike traditional methods which perpetually run at full power, or those that only adjust the level when the radio is barely active, this technology can limit power usage only to what is necessary at the moment of transmission. This not only reduces the amount of energy consumed for communication, but also significantly reduces leftover power that is needlessly converted into excess heat. Qualcomm claims this can reduce radio power consumption by up to 20% and heat production by up to 30%, all while improving the speed and reliability of the cellular signal.
Knox - Enterprise Security !!!

This is an interesting high-level overview of Samsung's security, including Knox. I find the "authorized OSs" part interesting. Notice the s on the end of OSs. The Knox marketing manual states that it is possible to change the device keys securely, but makes no reference to how it is done. Any ideas?

GSMArena Hands on with Multi-Vision --- expand your screen ACROSS several Note 3s !!!!! - Andrewtst
=============================
For the Note series, the main differentiator is the S-Pen using a Wacom active digitizer, and Samsung's nicely packaged software to take advantage of it across the OS. I personally like the workflow enhancement you get when your device can actually replace the paper notebook, so I am very keen for active digitizer devices, of which currently only the Note series has it in the smartphone/phablet form factor. Larger devices with active digitizers (Wacom or N-Trig) tend to be very expensive (RM5k++) tablets/convertibles from notebook manufacturers.
First off, I want to put things in perspective. I must state that we can no longer think of our devices as "phones" but COMPUTERS. Therefore, since computers have been around for the last 60 years or so, there is nothing "new" or "innovative" to expect from our devices, except for "faster, better, cheaper". Maybe not cheaper but we have seen ASP (Average Selling Price) falling across the board.
And because it is a computer, you have to treat it as such, ie regular backups, some periodic cleansing/factory reset and practice safe computing habits.
Note that of course it is not to be compared with the CISC type computers of the Intel x86 desktop/notebook genre, but it is still a computer nonetheless of the RISC variety, specifically the ARM family, with a huge number of variations across manufacturers. The focus of ARM is for performance per watt, which allows low power computing on the go which has been the dream of computing since its dawn.
Anything else, feel free to contribute.
Information will be added as it becomes available.

Hi guys,
I just came back from the hands-on session of the Note 3. Here are the answers to the questions that some of you guys wanted me to ask Samsung.
(Q)Does the Note 3 use Gorilla Glass for its display? If yes, which generation?|
(A)Gorilla Glass 3
(Q)Are there any advancements in the S Pen technology used in the Note 3? Is it still using Wacom tech like the Note 2?
(A)The new S Pen reinvents and modernizes the classic note-taking experience by providing the ability to accomplish everyday tasks with just one click. The advanced S Pen is designed to fully function as a communication driver between the phone and the user by creating essential input and control features. A simple click of the S Pen button while hovering over the screen introduces users to Air Command, a palette of five powerful features that truly make daily tasks easier and faster. With the Air Command feature, there is no need to toggle between screens, memorize commands or look up different menus.
For these enhancements, the GALAXY Note 3 uses the Wacom technology and is capable of 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity for a better user experience. The S Pen also features a changeable pen tip that is softer, which makes for a better handwriting experience. The S Pen on the GALAXY Note 3 can be detected from up to 1.7mm from the screen, an improvement from the GALAXY Note II.
(Q)Is the Note 3 using a PenTile RGBG matrix?
(A)The GALAXY Note 3 uses the Pentile RGBG matrix.
(Q) How did Samsung manage to make the Note 3 lighter than the Note 2 despite the slight increase in display size and physical size?
(A)The 5.7-inch screen Full HD Super AMOLED screen of the GALAXY Note 3 is larger than the previous GALAXY Note 2 device but because of the thin bezel, the overall size of the device stayed almost the same. The new Gorilla Glass on the GALAXY Note 3 helps to reduce its overall thickness and weight. In addition, we also optimised the mechanical design and HW circuit placement which contributes to the slimmer and lighter design of the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q)Will there wireless charging kits available for the Note 3?
(A)There will be a Wireless Charger Cover for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Can the Note 3 play 1080p 10bit video with flac?
(A) 10bit video playback is not supported on the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q)Does Samsung Mobile Singapore have the 7 days exchange policy for the Note 3 (1 to 1 brand new within 7 days at same place of purchase)?
(A)This exchange policy is not available for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Is the USB cable bundled 3.0?
(A) The USB is bundled 3.0.
(Q) Is there bundled S-Window case? Will it be available at launch?
(A) We have the at launch the S View cover for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Though its stated to support microSD up to 64GB, is there a chance it can support 128GB memory cards?
(A) It can only support up to 64GB.
(Q) Is the LED notification light on the Note 3 multi-color like the S4 and Note 2?
(A)Yes, the LED notification light comes in different colours on the GALAXY Note 3. __________________ Thanks and regards, Sidney

TechRadar - Hands on: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 review - 2013-09-05 - mudkipryan94 A short review, but I would like to highlight one of the comments. I am not being a Samsung fanboi but surely a review should be as objective as possible, and personal bias should be stated up front.
QUOTE
nellymosserFri 11:38 This is a fairly ridiculous review - and in fairness, not very helpful. The article seems peppered with your own personal tastes. We're not reading this to see if it suits you, we're reading it to see if it suits us. It is for us to decide on the leather look. And your comment, "Most people will never use multi-window, as nine times out of 10 you'll find you're using it for the sake of it." Actually, is for us to decide if we like the multi-window option or not to - Pinterest/Facebook/Twitter users, people who actually do like to look at links on the web but not lose their threads - already find it useful in Notes 1 & 2.
Instead of your own personal tastes, how about telling us what we need to know? What about battery life? That battery sounds massive. Is it? How about telling us about sound quality? Connectivity? Any changes to the home page? How it feels to hold? Can you drop it? Does it have gorrilla glass? What is the point/function of the octo core - how good is the super HD filming?
Different people want different things from a smartphone - that's why there are so many. How about you try to think about your spectrum of readers - your customers - when you write. At least that something that Samsung is trying to do here.
.....These smartphones are all top of the range devices, and the bar has been set extremely high. There are very few perceivable differences between the four of them and personal preference might be the biggest factor that makes you prefer one over the other. What we do know is that with such great options from a wide variety of manufacturers, the competition will compel OEMs to make even better devices which is a win for you, the consumer.
It’s a battle royale, and these are the most latest and most advanced smartphones in the world.
url=http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/04/samsung-galaxy-note-3-preview/]Engadget - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 preview[/url] - WiLyi Nice and fairly in depth overview, with 40 pics.
...The S-Pen is what actually makes the Note lineup so special, and Samsung has surely provided the Note 3 with even more S-Pen compatible apps, handwriting-recognition features and drawing tools.
There is also one more thing different about the new Note - it arguably looks better than ever (if though not everybody here at the office agrees). Samsung has its entire back to look like leather and the Note 3 looks just amazing....
.....As phones get bigger and tablets get more ubiquitous, it's good to see a device do something different that actually justifies the increased size. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3's multitasking features are particularly well-thought-out -- but whether you think it looks good in leather is up to you.
All Samsung Knox enabled phones have a warranty counter that CANNOT BE RESET at this time. ALL FLASHING AND ROOTING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK, and you warranty can be dishonored by Samsung.
Download Mode on the Note 3 and Clean, Official Status
You get into download mode by: 1. Power off your phone 2. Simultaneously press the Power, Home and Vol Down buttons while booting 3. Release when it reaches a warning screen, then press Vol Up to reach the screen below:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
13MP Rear-Facing Camera: Gracing the rear of the GALAXY Note 3 is a 13 megapixel wide-angle camera with Samsung Smart Stabilization, their take on Optical Image Stabilization. OIS uses hardware corrections to negate camera shake and provide sharp images.
Ultra HD (4K) Video Recording: 2013 is the year of the Ultra HDTVs and with them come a host of video recording capable cameras and smartphones to provide content. This means that video can be recorded on the GALAXY Note 3 and played back on an Ultra HDTV at 2160p. To put this in to perspective Ultra HD has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (8.3 megapixels) which is 4 times the pixels of Full HD at 1920 × 1080 (2.1 megapixels).
2MP Front-Facing Camera: A discreet front-facing 2 megapixel camera will provide 1080p video during video chat. The greater the resolution, the better the video chat or call experience for your partner. But don't forget the dual-view option that allows you to also capture video using the rear-facing camera.
Full HD Display The GALAXY Note 3 has a new 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The screen is bigger and brighter than that of the GALAXY Note 2 with a pixel density of 386 PPI. This means that you will not only have a crisper image but you won't have to squint at the screen under direct sunlight. The display is graced with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and should provide greater protection for the WACOM-enabled digitizer.
Hi-Fi Audio The GALAXY Note 3 now supports 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Fi audio. In basic terms, you are now getting playback at studio quality levels. Before any argues a lack of subtle or no difference between current offerings of 16-bit/44.1kHz, your ears may not distinguish between them but your eyes do. Crazy I know! But the human body is just one of those miracles of design we may never fully understand.
Adaptive Display and Sound Adaptive Display is a very simple. It changes the brightness or contrast of the screen depending on what you are viewing and the lighting conditions of your environment. This same technology will also adjust audio properties such as equalizer profiles based on the content you are experiencing. If you watch a YouTube video while cooking, the screen automatically switches to cinema and lowers the brightness while also switching from the default equalizer profile to one more suitable for movie playback.
Removable Battery and MicroSD Card Samsung stays the course despite the current trend by most tech companies to switch to a unibody design. This keeps the battery captive and forces you to send your smartphone in for a costly battery replacement. It also limits your smartphone memory to whatever it shipped with. The GALAXY Note 3 has a removable 3200 mAh battery and allows for a swappable MicroSD card up to 64GB. I for one always have a backup battery and alternate MicroSD to match either a work or play profile.
802.11ac WiFi This WiFi standard is essentially an updated version of 802.11n or Wireless-N. 802.11ac currently has speeds of 1.7 GHz, limited by current hardware, but can reach a real-world maximum of 2.5 GHz. This means that the GALAXY Note 3 can work and play faster than most devices on the market provided you have a matching Wireless-AC router.
New Multitasking Options The GALAXY Note 3 now lets users do more with an enhanced Multi Window option. Owners can now launch the same app twice. Multi-Window also allows users drag and drop content, so it's easy to share from one window to another through quick command icons.
S Pen 3.0 The new S Pen reinvents and modernizes the classic note-taking experience by enabling everyday tasks with just one tap and click. The advanced stylus is designed as a communication driver between the owner and their GALAXY Note 3. By creating essential input and control features, the S Pen plays an integral role in how one interacts with the GALAXY Note.
Air Command This quick access S Pen action lets owners quickly open up; Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window. You can access this from anywhere on the GALAXY Note 3 screen by simply hovering the S Pen over the screen and pressing the button on the stylus.
S Finder This option allows a GALAXY Note 3 owner to search for memos, contacts, and notes. S Finder even recognizes handwriting and symbols. The GALAXY Note 3 can even sync with and search through Evernote.
Pen Window This option allows a GALAXY Note 3 owner to draw a square anywhere on the app being viewed in order to pull up and fill the drawing with a number of commonly used apps, such as Calculator.
Anti-Theft Features Locate My Mobile displays the current location of the lost mobile on a map and tracks movement history during the last 12 hours. Lock My Mobile can remotely lock your mobile so that no one else can use the device. And finally, Ring My Mobile rings a bell for 1 minute at the highest volume regardless of the current sound settings.
WatchOn Smart Remote For those of you who had a chance to program and use WatchOn, you know that the GALAXY S4 effectively becomes a smart remote control rivaling the pricey remotes sold by TV accessory manufacturers. Now this feature is unleashed on the GALAXY Note 3 with its greatly improved screen promising to make the GALAXY Note 3 a powerful Smart Remote.
Air Gestures This feature allows owners to control the GALAXY Note 3 by using gestures done over the upper part of the smartphone without ever making contact with the screen. Quick Glance lets you view basic notifications while the screen is off. Air Jump lets you scroll up or down in emails and webpages. Air Browse lets you browse images, webpages, songs, or memos. Air Call-Accept lets you accept calls by swiping over the sensor.
Samsung KNOX For those of us who are security-minded and want to ensure that a stolen smartphone doesn't become a liability, it is welcome news that Samsung has brought a global-ready version of KNOX to the GALAXY Note 3. SamsungKNOX essentially separates your smartphone in to two parts; personal and business. Neither side can interact with the other. Samsung KNOX provides Platform Security, Application Security, Mobile Device Management and Samsung KNOX for Enterprise.
Smart Pause While some may call this feature gimmicky, those who have used Smart Pause on the GALAXY S4 know that this a great feature. Just like Samsung's smartphone flagship, the GALAXY Note 3 can pause video playback when you look away from the screen. Samsung has worked closely with content providers to ensure that features that were once limited to in-house apps can now control 3rd party apps.
S Voice With Hands Free S Voice has been upgraded and a feature called S Drive has been added. S Drive is useful for those who must have constant access to their smartphone, even while driving. This feature does exist on the GALAXY Note 2 as Driving Mode which causes S Voice to read your texts, report who is calling, allows you to control your music player or open common applications by voice command. This option enables safer driving and, in some states, may save you from being ticketed by the police.
GALAXY Gear Although the GALAXY Gear is not a feature, I believe it will quickly become a must-have accessory. This is basically a tethered Smart Watch that uses S Relay to seamlessly transfer content and alerts from the GALAXY Note 3 to the GALAXY Gear and vice-versa. Beyond sharing content, the GALAXY Gear also controls the GALAXY Note 3 allowing you to send messages, make phone calls, request directions and a slew of other actions. To me the Gear is just a bonus thing. I would sell it off if I got it. My main concern is the price and plan for the Note 3 itself. Btw, wanna ask if anyone here knows if Maxis will accept cc installment in buying the phone with their plan?
No no..I mean I hope they have enough stock to cater for all of the buyers that'll buy from them, not saying they keep stock don't want to sell at lower price.
The LYN self-service submission form - storage capacity got 64GB.. So i want to make thing clear before i collect my device, incase i get cheated.. Thanks alot btw.

64Gb is an option, however nobody has gotten a 64Gb unit yet. Like the Note 2, the higher capacity units were extremely scarce, and arrived a couple of months later. The same will probably happen.

all these sounds fishy to me. But anyway, as long as your happy with the deal, so be it Btw, you had SP on in the previous unit? If so the RM100 is to compensate your SP
Hi guys, i just wanted to share my experience on dealing with item.com.my / paul1978 This is exactly what has transpired, and i am not going to comment if he is or is not a reliable seller, if you are planning on dealing with him, please make your own judgement.
Last night (22/Sept) at 7.50pm, i sms him at 012-6666368 -
Me - Hi, i saw your ad on lelong, interested to get the Note 3 @ RM 2199 Black color, do you have stock ? Can i pay cash & collect at your shop at the summit tomorrow ?
item.com (This is his exact word from the SMS, no more, no less) - Left some Pls walk in to our celcom xclusive store G floor G32 Summit complex USJ infront of converse shop mon-fri 12-9/sat-sun 12-7pm pls text b4 come tq
Me - Will come over tomorrow before lunch, will text you before i come, can you please reserve one unit of black for me please ? Btw, what is the 5 free gift? Thanks.
item.com - Stylus pen car charger car holder card reader extra cable prepaid card headset choose 5 tq
Me - Ok. I will come over tomorrow, thanks.
Today (23/Sept) at 10.45am, i sms him (i took 1 day leave today... to buy note 3 from item.com.my)
Me - Hi, can i come over to your shop at 12pm to get the note 3 black ? Thanks.
item.com - Double check if any left over. only sell to preorder at the moment
Me - I thought you said got a few left last night ? Anyway please check and let me know soon, thanks.
item.com - Preorder list is more than 100 at the moment...will double check
Me (12pm) - Hi, have you check your note 3 stock yet ? Thanks.
item.com - Will double check after lunch
Me (1.30pm upon arriving at The Summit USJ) - Have you check your stock ? Hope to get from you today, i just went to cash out from atm, i am in the summit now. Thanks.
item.com - Sorry will sell on 24th or 25th only after preorder tq
Me - Ok. Never mind then, Thanks.
The above is what has transpired during our deal, sad to say that i trusted item.com.my and took a day leave to go to his shop. But i guess i will be buying from ebay deal on 25th Sept since it is technically less than 2 days from now. As a reminder, i did not buy anything from item.com.my, and i am not going to comment on the way he conduct his business, i guess everyone has their right to conduct their business in their own way. All i know is that i will not be so trusting the next time around no matter how reputable the seller is or how long the seller has been doing his business online. So what i lost was a day leave from work, my time to travel to summit usj, some sms cost, and travelling expenses, and of course, disappointment and loss of trust.
ps : one thing is that at least item.com.my did reply my sms promptly, and not turn off the phone like other seller (from what i read from this thread, not my personal experience)
Disclaimer: certain part of sms from myself has been omitted to protect my own privacy, however all SMS from item.com.my is not modified or deleted in any way, it is exactly what he has replied me. TQ.

You are welcome, this forum has helped me a lot and i learnt from others mistake, so i hope i can contribute too.

I still not buy the seller's story. Whatever, the important thing is you didnt get any loss and somemore you get Rm100 cashback, it just like gift!!!!

1stly i also doesnt believed it..but another lyn forumer pm me and got same call because we buy from same seller..and the deal just now going nice..got sealed set and extra rm100..btw my previous unit still naked..and i will never use sp on my n3...hihi
Last few months S4 price also is very good for the ebay promo. I foresee note 3 price will plunge faster than note 2. After 3 months will see it around 1.7k range.
with 4k recording video, i think its better to have a 64gb though
As for video, the Snapdragon 800-powered Galaxy Note 3 is capable of not only 1080p FullHD capture but also 2160p 4K video. It takes up a lot of space on the device, naturally, but also carries the very high bitrate of around 47 Mbps with a constant framerate of 29 fps. Audio has a bitrate of 121 Kbps with two channels (stereo) and a sampling rate of 48

Hopefully ebay.com.my reserved many stocks for launch day. Don't lah later OUT OF STOCK then hancur all our dreams, damn potong stim la if like that
From what I know, it would probably be the seller allocating 20 units for the deal. As long as 20 devices are allocated, there shouldn't be a question about stock depleting as they have mentioned that only 20 units would be sold at that price
In 2 days time, I guess many ppl will be holding N3.. N3 everywhere! .
it's better to see people using Note 3 rather than the colourful 5C. I'm afraid our place will be full of rainbow colours, ranging from children to old folks. lol plenty of colours, sakit mata later..
yeah...but i think i deal with their boss just now..hihi..very2 friendly..will just use white colour la..nvm la about colour..plus got rm100 more.. hihi..
Judging that the winner of the free Gear contest won't be able to get the Gear tomorrow, I come to think if it will be the same for telco and also Samsung lucky draw?
1. ebay RM1888 / RM1999 2. LYN seller RM2199 3. Maxis, Celcom, Digi with free Gear 4. Samsung Store @ The Garden
Above are my priority of buying. Starting from the cheapest...
If Maxis plan is attractive, I won't mind signing up a package with them and get the GEAR for FOC, then use it like a week and see it off to reduce the price of the plan I sign for Note 3...
Otherwise really hope to be lucky enough to be one of the buyer for the RM1888 promo by ebay. Provided the delivery date is not too long....

For me if I manage to get the free Gear, I will sell it off to save more budget. As of now, I still don't see how useful the Gear to function as a smartwatch. For me, I won't use it to do voice calling or capturing of still image. The most I will use it is for simple notification checking like SMS and short emails.
And if I'm not wrong, the screen will be off to save power and you have to turn it on when you need to check the time, which it defeat the core purpose of being a WATCH. But then it's just my opinion, some will really like it.

Agreed, I won it and will sell it too. Not that practical for me and I am not a watch person.
Wao, to my surprise, I see many users here who keep changing from one flagship phone to another and few buyers of Note 3 here are uni students. The most "advance" phone I owned during my uni life is SE W800. Youngsters nowadays are full with endless "luxuries"

If you see other threads, 16 year olds are carrying flagships too.
The best phone ever, multi function phone 1. Safety - throw at dogs or thieves 2. Pass all drop test - you can even use the phone despite the front and back casing and battery is scattered away 3. Super good battery life - can last you a week with a single charge 4. Entertainment - everyone plays the same Snake game 5. Everyone is using the same charger.
LOL..ok, it's enough of my off topic. Later joytest will come after me.

That time still young, and it was my 1st own hp that bought by myself, not much of experience on how to differentiate original and ap set...
I think my 3210 cannot last a week in a single charge, mainly I think the seller replace the original battery with a china one...
But after few months, I upgraded to 8250... That time Nokia was KING...

Even though I can easily afford it, I NEVER pay more than RM500 ( usually around RM300-400) for a phone for my 3 kids. They start to use it in Form 5 till their graduation from university. I don't believe in pampering my children with such unnecessary luxuries. Why would they need a smartphone for. They can always communicate using their laptop but I will not hesitate to pay RM5K just for a MacBook Air for them as this is a more useful tool than a handphone. My children are very and extremely well trained by my wife and they NEVER ask me for stuffs. They are frugal in their spending. Infact I have top persuade them to buy new clothes/shoes every new year. But they will not hesitate to spend money on books. Every shopping trip is 99% spend on books. Now all of them are working ( and comparatively is now way better than me in my days), they have their own means to buy what they like.
Like what joytest mentioned, technology advancement is very fast. If the news turns out to be true, then by the time it reach here you might hear another news of new camera technology and new processor and new metal body for S5 and the waiting game will never end.
For me, I will buy what is the "best" available at the moment.

Sorry guys, but whats the major different between 32bit and 64bit in Android?
Does it mean after 64bit release, 32bit will have lesser support in term of apps?
To put into a simple term, 64bit processor means that it can handle more memory, like having more RAM into your devices and handle larger storage more efficiently. In terms of app support, it will take times for developer to optimize their app to be benefited by the 64bit processor. As of now, not many apps are optimized for multi core processor, so I believe it will take few years for optimizing 64bit.
If you need more detail info, you can either google or ask joytest, he will be better in this area

64 bit will mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the timeframe of at least the next year. See JBQ's post linked in post 5. JBQ was one of the major people behind Android. And Samsung is making v1.0 of ARM's 64bit for consumers, so I think it will take a bit of time to get it right. It also needs support from Android itself to work properly. Read Anandtech's writeup on the ipong 5s review, he provided a very detailed discussion. However he also said it's going to take about 2 years before it matures.
Technically speaking, the most visible benefit is allowing the CPU to address more RAM. The rest are actually a lot more obscure and has to do with register sizes and executing more instructions per second, leading to improved execution speeds.
So 64 bits is nothing to clamor for right now, but it will arrive inevitably, so just wait for Note 4 or Note 5 with proper 64bit Android.
As to the curved display, I don't know, I don't think the design shown in the pic is practical. Up to you if you want to pay a lot more for the limited edition.

Exactly. I was being trained by my family in the similar way of yours during my younger age. I believe kids should not be pampered with all this luxuries until they are able to afford one by their own means.

So so true. I look at the youngster nowadays really *shakehead* especially those who are still studying in Uni fancy all the latest tech which 99& either using ptptn or parents money. Go club etc etc.
I remember once when I told my parents to buy me a nokia 8250 back in the olden days. My parents will say , earn it yourself to get it. LOL

Yup, not sure when will root be available for N3. During the N2 days, is root available before launch?
Yes I think they had CFRoot very shortly after the announcement.
This whole SELinux thing is supposed to be good for everyone in general, but certainly bad for modders and hackers. As I said before, they put in a padlock, sold you the device, but kept the key themselves. So now you have to figure out how to unlock and relock it without letting Samsung know so as not to void your warranty.
Well I mean in part it is society's problem........WHY THE HECK DO PEOPLE LOSE THEIR PHONES SO EASILY??????

Maybe useful if they plan give you 6GB Internal RAM for coming S5 ... kidding.. .I know it won't happen, not now.

Hopefully the developer will find a way to root it. I don't mind to wait for TA to be available in later date, but without root means having a super computer but you are limited to basic function of it.
I hope Samsung won't go HTC way which really discourage lots of developer and user

CM is a fork of the green robot, Firefox seems to have hibernated, Aliyun may or may not be alive (also a fork of the green robot), and Tizen has not been born. Will Jolla make any waves?
You will be able to collect the GALAXY Gear from Samsung Experience Store, The Gardens Mid Valley on the 4th October. Kindly note that should you not be able to attend on that day, you can appoint someone, but you will need to sign off a letter of authorization for your representative to bring along on that day. Please remind your representative to also bring along a proof of purchase.

Everyone say the same thing. Anyways is spoke to the Samsung Sep in publika preorder at msrp and get s view cover for free on 25th
I'm as excited as everyone else about the eBay promo but suddenly had this thought:
"always be wary of a phone that’s being sold with a markedly lower price tag than its current market value" (and this is SIGNIFICANTLY LOWE by 400~500)
Even Samsung Malaysia is only offering a chance to win one of the 500 Gears for purchase of Note3 btwn 25th-29th at RM2399. (Checked with a shop. Buyer to register online to stand a chance so sorry for those who were hoping for 1st come 1st serve like me)
Is the eBay 1888/ 1999 deal too good to be true? Read here someone purchased the S4 promo b4, any other forumers could confirm that?

For my case, I'm still not able to get the phone at the moment My reseller said "maybe" can only release this evening as Samsung will be conducting stock audit this evening it is still not 100% can get the phone even tonight
He further said that if it's only allowed to go on sale on 25/9, he'll let me collect the phone even after midnight but ... do I need to go to such extent meh? It's not safe on the street nowadays

Don't know... but my fiend who selling phone, he already got stock and show me too.. but it still can't sell yet because Samsung disallow they selling before 25-9-2013, else will having problem take stock on future... (this is what he told me)
Called an authorised dealer which only sell Samsung in Penang, surprised to hear that they are not sure if stock will arrive tomorrow (though he said should get).
Puzzled with such launch planning (either them or Samsung Malaysia)
whose gonna sleep in front of SEP tonight? tmrw gonna buy popcorn and watch this thread grow as ppl starts to spam with pictures of their purchase, as well as impressions.

You could say it's well coordinated to start selling at Samsung's PLANNED day rather than leaking devices left, right and center.

It's up to Samsung. For the Note 2, the 32Gb variant was only available about 2 months later. Maybe they've improved now but only Samsung can announce it. Get a 64Gb sdcard in the meantime.

You don't need to buy any popcorn right. You can grow your own culture and just sip it off that 20gallon barrel.......
I'm as excited as everyone else about the eBay promo but suddenly had this thought:
"always be wary of a phone that’s being sold with a markedly lower price tag than its current market value" (and this is SIGNIFICANTLY LOWE by 400~500)

if it is the same seller as in S4 promo before, i think no problem. because i won that S4 promo too. you can see the seller history on ebay. furthermore, this is joint promo by LYN too. can give some faith in LYN team at least.
Yeah, save your money on popcorn !!!! Grow your certified 1Malaysia culture and sell as a refreshing beverage to all LYN forumers and /k/tards !!!!!
haha.. cell biology or fermentation, if that is what you are trying to say, is not my core job.. i'm not even in industrial biotechnology.. i'm actually in pure molecular biology, more towards genetics, genomics and proteomics.

to hold such devices as the Note 3 and XZU of course......

Thanks namh, so will have to wait till the posting pop up to check the seller. I couldn't find eBay Malaysia as seller. Bought from amazon before but no experience with ebay.

It's not a seller. It's the ebay website itself in conjunction with LYN. So ebay themselves are selling it. It is as legit and as safe as it gets lah

I might not be able to sign up the plan that offer by Maxis, cause according to the person, I need to port in to Maxis 1st then only can entitle for the plan.
But right now already half day gone, so no need to rush, let the fate decide for me once Maxis has release the plan for Note 3...

There are at least 10 or more of us here who save rm400+ buying the S4 promo. Same seller. Very efficient. Paid 1215pm n he send out same day evening n I got it next morning. Sealed SME set.
I just call one of the stuff that work in one of the maxis centre in klang valley, even them are unsure about the package for Note 3.
And regarding the FOC Gear by signing up on 25th Sept, according to them, only selected centres have this offer.
So lets pray one of the centre near you are selected...
P/S : The one I contacted is not a direct friend of mine, I got his contact from one of my very close friend.... So anyone else who has friends that work with Maxis, maybe can reconfirm on this matter...

Uncle Benny, are you saying that the Note 3 promo @ RM1888 is conducted by the same seller as the S4 LTE one?
If this is the case, does the seller accept payment by using CC?
Cause I didn't have any paypal account, and if I link my CC with paypal now, according to forumer here, it would need 2-3 days to complete the process.

Yes you can use credit card on ebay. Using paypal is better as your CC details are secured n in case any fail transactions guaranteed refund of every single sen.
eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Programme reimburses buyers for eligible transactions when: An item was not received. An item was received but significantly not as described. You'll be reimbursed up to a maximum of RM 750.
For example: If the item price is RM 825, you're eligible to receive RM 750. If the item price is RM 165, you're eligible to receive RM 165. The maximum reimbursement for any claim is RM 750.
I just contacted Maxis customer service and check about the promotion for Note 3 and the details are as following:
Surf More Plan 12 months contract - RM1,999 24 months contract - RM1,899
And the lady told me the free Galaxy Gear promotion is only available in KLCC, Garden, Sunway Pyramid and Danga Bay. When I asked how many Galaxy Gear available for this promotion and she said 800++. She also said we can use cc to pay the phone by installment basis.
Somehow she doesn't sound confident throughout the conversation. I don't know how true is the info given by her especially the difference of phone price between 12 months and 24 months.
Maybe someone can call and find out?

But my GF's friend who is working in Maxis HQ can't get any information from the PIC for this promotion as Maxis is keeping the Note 3 promotion highly PnC.
I also don't know who to trust. Let see how things show up tomorrow.

The 1999 price is within feasible contract pricing for 24 months IMHO, for the Surfmore 75.
If they decided on a firesale, that will be great news.
Do you mean after I link my CC with paypal, I can use it right away?

Cool, if Maxis really offer Surf More 50 for Note 3 @ Rm1999 for 12 months, I will really go and que for it... Did she say about the GEAR is a sure get item after we sign up, or is it a LUCKY DRAW basis?
Nowadays vendors are very tricky with the words...

dun think will be Surfmore 50. It will be Surfmore 75 at least or maybe RM98 talk + data combo plan like S3 offer. Maxis getting stingy in giving good offer for Note series, starting from Note II. The initial Note II bundle last year is not worth at all. They only bundled it at better value with Surfmore 75 for RM1,399 few months later.
So for those who are hoping to get good offer from Maxis, dun cross your fingers coz it is not happening.
[03:30:52 PM] Maxis: Sorry to advice, at this juncture we have yet to have any info, Would like to advice that the Launch date is tomorrow, thus all info will be provided in our Maxis Website as well.

IMHO, the Note series and other large screened devices are more catered for computing and media consumption usage. To tie this to a TALKING plan is somewhat ridiculous......

I was being told Surf More will be available. Let's wait till tomorrow and everything will be revealed
What I’ve gathered from this simple test was that Samsung has not built itself a smartphone with 4K recording capabilities but a smartphone that does 1080p recording wonderfully that has unfortunately been upscaled to a 4K resolution.
Hopefully the developer will find a way to root it. I don't mind to wait for TA to be available in later date, but without root means having a super computer but you are limited to basic function of it.
I hope Samsung won't go HTC way which really discourage lots of developer and user
Rooting can still be done on Note3.. But be prepared to void warranty. At the moment there's no way to workaround Knox Warranty Flag 0x1. Even if TA manage to reset binary counter..the warranty flag still show each flash in download mode. My S4 warranty flag now shows 0x30 eventhough it show Samsung Official with zero binary.
The best thing is..when my S4 got bricked and sent to service centre. They reflash the phone phone themselves but the warranty flag remain the same. It even increase by the reflashing that was done by service centre technician.

I think Maxis is aware of this, and it seems that they purposely market in this way so that consumers will have to pay higher monthly fees in order to enjoy a lower up front money to buy the Note 3...
Unless they come up with SurfMore plans for it, otherwise my only hope will be rely on ebay promo or lyn sellers...
Anything could happen, afterall Maxis haven't officially announce yet the plan for Note 3. I sincerely hope that the one who gave this info to me was wrong...
I guess most of the seller in lyn won't be releasing their stocks today, or maybe at the evening time like one of the seller told me...

Actually many of my classmates in Taylors uni have flagship smartphones... But I still am considered 'average' only as some students drive an Audi R8 to uni.. So a 2.4k phone is little compared to a 800k audi r8..

i think maxis will only introduce surfmore package later. right now they will ride on the hype and entice customer to sign up for expensive plans just to get the phone first.

yeah stupid plan to protect on their furity sale?
my only option to get it from ebay only then but 9am==
For Note II, I will come to office earlier tomorrow.
My target to reach office at 10 latest everyday, so I think I will not risk it by sitting down in front of laptop at home and click click. Later late to work.
Come to office, have a good cup of cappuccino from the pantry and click click!

Same here. I hardly spend on talk time unless I'm travelling to conduct training. Most of the time I will use viber to call my GF or family.
Planning to get maybe around Oct. I believe everyone will be chasing after the GN3 starting tomorrow. Since I'm not planning to get the free Gear, maybe can try my luck in those Maxis Exclusive Partner.

My target to reach office at 10 latest everyday, so I think I will not risk it by sitting down in front of laptop at home and click click. Later late to work.
Come to office, have a good cup of cappuccino from the pantry and click click!
Should I sign up SurfMore 50, 12mth @ RM 1999 or SurfMore 75, 12mth @ 1699?
I won't be using it to call or online most of the time, unless during my holiday back to Malaysia, which is about 2 month once. And the stay will be around 14 days per return...
If SM 50, I will save RM 200 (2199-1999) whereby SM 75 I will save RM 500 (2199-1699).
But SM 75 I need to pay extra RM 25 each month which is RM300 in 12 months. But I will be having 5GB of data...
My DG68 unlimited plan, the most data I ever utilised was less than 1GB over the period...

Since you won't be in Msia often, perhaps you should just get it outright. Try your luck tomorrow getting the RM1888 deal... or the RM1999 one. Else RM2199 isn't too bad too.
When you're back in Msia, just subscribe to Maxis Hotlink prepaid. They have revised their monthly plan. Only RM30 for 1GB. You mentioned yourself you hardly use mobile data too
no no.. I think it's limited by RM2k if I'm not wrong. Check your paypal account
I have bought in one single transaction RM 4950 from HK and no issue. That was about 4 years back. . It is tied in to your credit card limit. RM 2000-3000 transaction many times I did already !!

Care to elaborate why is not worth for port in customer? OT again...
Btw, after I linked my CC with Paypal but I didn't verified my CC with paypal, what is the maximum limit I can use it to purchase online?
When you have just ported in you are new in the Maxis system, so whatever advance payment etc charges they want to slap on you will be hefty.
BTW as -kytz- said, why don't you get it off contract, then you can get a Hotlink account that you can keep active for 1 year that will cost you about RM60 only.

Digi don't have LTE aam I correct? With LTE, your data will suck up much faster coz the speed is faster
The operator told me that only TalkMore 78 + 1/3GB data is available for tomorrow Note 3 plan...
As for the Surfmore, she said it is for Tab 3 one...
Phew, really confusing lah...
Maxis Live Chat said got SurfMore, call to their helpline say no...
OMG...
No need to fret so much. Just buy it cheaply off ebay tomorrow morning. Even if you miss the next pricing is RM 1999 still very attractive. I am planning to buy 2 units tomorrow morning - one for my friend and one to resell to make some small profit to cover my first purcahase cost

Hahaha, wise investment...
I won't mind to pay for 1999 from ebay, but what worry me is the shipping period would make me wait even longer...
Btw, the price will automatic adjust to 1999 once the 20 unit sold? Or we have to wait for further update?

I don't think it will take more than 3 days to be in your hands. The last time I bought the S4 special promo, I recieved it next day. As in the S4 case once the initial lot was sold, the subsequent lots prices went up RM 100 until whole batch was sold out. I remember the balance units took about 3 days to be finally sold off. Once the 20 units taken-up, you will see RM 1999 for subsequent units

Must pay IMMEDIATELY lah !!! This is online transaction and where in the world will seller wait for you to pay later. Only when your debit card is charged during checkout only than is considered sold. You never did online purchases before ??

Uncle Benny, so they will ship out the device once the payment is made? Or they will only ship out after all the stocks are sold?
This will be my 1st online purchase on ebay....
Hope it will give me good luck @ 1888....
Then I will have more spare $$$ to buy some case....
Based on all the questions, seems like many of you guys don't do online shopping. I have bought so much stuffs from EBay, Amazon.com, Clove UK, Handtec UK , Carrymobile.com, Aliexpress.com, Taobao etc past 7 years and yet to faced a single extra charge on credit card. As for shipping costs it will always be reflected in the posting details or you can view it during checkout or view it before checkout in a separate window And I always choose Paypal for extra security and assurance of refund ( every single sen) if transaction fail finally. I have 2 refunds made past 7 years and I got back every sen

Depending on the seller . Read the payment description , most of the time , u can pay later BUT there are some sellers that require immediate payment . Is this case , u are not confirming your unit till u click on it . Example below

Check with the seller la , uncle benny is the buyer not the seller . How will he know when they will ship Based on experience , it's up to buyer . If u wanan buy it fast , get it at normal price starting from tomorrow OR save a bit and wait for the item to be shipped . U cant have it both ways to benefit u . Forget to add , if it's from doodadent_my , do bear with the 2-3 working days for delivery to Damansara area . That's my experience buying over 6 gadgets from him/her .

How can I tell you the answer ?? I am not the seller. But I can tell you the last S4 promo, I recieved the phone the very next day. Even if have to wait 2 weeks is still worth it for RM 1888 or even 1999

Correct uncle , they didnt buy any special deals before from ebay so it's expected . Those confirm first , pay later mostly for selling items , not the special deals

If can't wait, then go grab it at the stores tomorrow at RM2399 RRP. Otherwise, can try for RM1888 or RM1999 as mentioned and wait for few days.
Well said... Or pre order with SenQ NOW and get free Bluetooth.
SenQ with free Bluetooth as well? I pre-ordered both from SenQ and Sen Heng. Can i take from SenQ instead of Sen Heng? They are both related companies right? Both of them confirmed that they will reserved one for me. Just that SenQ is nearer to my workplace and I might be able to collect it during lunch while Sen Heng have to wait till I off work. Sen Heng did enter my particulars inside their computer system while SenQ just took my i/c and mobile number in a piece of paper. Will there be any impact if I didn't buy from Sen Heng?
As per conversation they officer they said we r not obliged to purchase on tomorrow ya. Can purchase anytime before 4th october as the gear will only arrive at that day.
Hi guys. Good luck on buying ebay deal tomorrow and congrats to the proud owners. I won't be able to join the wagon this time as I'm buying a house this saturday. Need every single cent for my dream house Anyway, my note 2 is still alive and kicking and handsomely lag free (almost) till this day so I won't missing out on note 3 that much. Well, note 4 maybe
