Have no problem paste the link to the chrome browser and download.

But can't download with NAS download manager. Use this for torrent download.

Try with others cloud also same.

Anyway just try test speed. But home broadband is 100Mbps. Fast enough for me.

I just googled, there is no internal web browser for DSM? sweat.gif
It also don't have GDrive add-on package to sync google drive with NAS?
If torrent also can reach 100mbps download then means it have no problem to reach max speed. thumbup.gif

The review I link earlier that just goes over 30MB/s is because they using 300mbps internet. So wrong info.

This link show it can goes 80MBps or 110MBps on LAN, depends on type of connection
https://nascompares.com/review/synology-ds218-plus-review/

This reddit also show can get such speed, as long as every setting and hardware is correct
https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/...ransfer_speeds/

If your HDD is SMR also can cause the slow write issue which will seems like slow transfer.
*
Seems like nobody checking the cpu utilization.
From what i checked 40-50mb/s is doable.. so yeah about 300-400mbps on consistent transfer. 800 etc all spike.

No web browser in DSM. For DL, have built-in download station.

No Gdrive add-on package.

Torrent DL depend on network and seed. 100Mbps is no problem at all.

800mbps LAN transfer try before no problem. I use Link aggregation and switch.

100mbps a rm300 phone can already do that.

Alot of ppl dont realize core usage when its 300-1gbps.
Even your router at 500-800 mbps a 2core arm will be maxing out..

I don't remember any NAS review check on cpu utilization, so yeah this is usually something that being overlooked.
I try on my NAS with N3050, it average around 60% utilization.

I think most NAS from few years back have no problem for max speed lan transfer
Usually is setting issue or other hardware issue that cause it not able to transfer at full speed.

Qnap and Asustor have web browser.

Will it sync gdrive content to local folder in NAS?

I didn't use Amazon to ship. Expensive and for this case, can't ship.

Probably warranty problem.

Use 3rd party ship.

The price still expensive as exchange rate is high. Even Amazon price down.

I will wait longer.

Another hdd can use if you using Synology. Exos model. Even cheaper.

Interesting... I've never bought any HDD online because I'm over worried about the HDD DOA due to bad packaging/handling.

May I know how's your experience over buying HDD online i.e. from Lazada or even Amazon? Do they cover INTL warranty?

Thanks...

This is my 1st time brought HDD online too. I also worry about the handling since HDD is a sensitive device. I try 2set 1st and see how is the delivery and put into run test.

Packaging no damage. I request additional amazon packing instead of just the Seagate own pack box. But the 3rd party shipping might open the packaging and stuff together into 1 to save the cost. as long as it has an additional box ontop the own Seagate pack, it fine to me. So far no damage and run for 3 weeks now. Everyday test it read/write.

Amazon might not have a warranty outside US. Check with Seagate the serial no. on the HDD.

I take the risk since the price is cheaper than here. If it can last for 5yrs, good enough.

My experience so far, never encounters HDD spoil during warranty period.

The only WD external HDD spoil under warranty is the internal battery.

If you don't have that luck than consider properly before getting 1.

So far no custom duty either with amazon or 3rd party shipping. Not the 1st time using them.

Yes.

Using it to import thing from US, UK, China and Japan. Average 2weeks arrived once the part reach their warehouse in specific country.

But the fee increase to RM20/lb now from RM18.

WD finally come out with a list of the SMR RED HDD. 2TB-6TB EFAX RED drives are SMR, so don't mix them with your older EFRX drives. Are those newer EFAX drives arrived in Malaysia already?
