Hello guys, I'm planning to get myself a mechanical keyboard and I was wondering if you guys can recommend something that you think would be suitable for someone who is getting his first mechanical keyboard a.k.a first love.

Currently I'm interested in getting a Das Keyboard Professional Model S or ducky shine 3 or ducky zero (blue or brown switch, still deciding), any advises would be greatly appreciated.

As for my preference, I prefer a black keyboard, backlight would be a great add-on such as ducky shine 3 but totally optional, I'm more concerned about the construction and overall typing pleasure.

Das, ducky, Rosewill, filco, certain cm all manufactured from the same factory. However they all have different quality.

Ducky shine 3 has most bells and whistles, sells like hot cakes but not everybody needs the feature. Zero shine is the cheapest backlit board from ducky but it is made in a different factory. Das used to be pretty famous back in the days but not sure what is the appeal now.

get ducky. the build is quite solid and it has backlighthing that you can obviously turn off.

anyone can explain how does pressing a well lubed keycaps feel? hmm.gif

EDIT: sorry, describe
*
it depends on what switch you use.
lubing mx black/red at least eliminate much of the scratchiness.

lubed mx blue click will become subtle.

most of the time lubed switch will reduce the noise.
quite a different from stock switch.

of course you can't feel it with just one demo switch.
you gotta test with whole keyboard which has fully tuned switches and compare it to stock

Yeah, what he said.
Please don't lube clicky switches. More often than not, it's a waste of time.
You'll loose the click if you can't apply the lube as thin as possible. At that rate, will you even feel the smoothness?

more like lubing the stabilizers or changing them, changing switches and possibly adding in LED!

oohh...but thanks for the headstart on not to lube blue switches...i might possibly do dat if i took them out LOL
so it will become like wat? a blue-brown mute switch? blue's clicky and tactile but without the actual click sound hahaha

my friend had a Das Pro S and a Rosewill RK-9100 brown
i tried brown first, i like it...then i tried blue...habis...fall in love terus wub.gif

but my fren's Das had some issue after the warranty period is over, some of his keys cease to function.
not sure if it's switch faulty or board.

that's something to consider also i guess...haha!

the plus point about Das keyboard is that it have 2 USB port built-in on the right side, very convenient if u need extra ports.

The clicky sound will not be muted, not all of them.
Do you even lube?

You'll end up with uneven clicky feel all over the place.
Some will click loudy, some soft, some not at all. This is affected by the free moving slider of the clicky switches, which also affects the key feel.
In the end, it's uneven key feel all over the board.

I guess my choice of word isn't suitable then.

What I mean is that lubed blue switch = less/not clicky clicky switch.

It depend whether those not functional keys are in cluster or randomly scattered.

If keys died in a cluster, hen high chance for caused by something blown.

If individual switches less functioning, then may be just switches issues.

Hi there, what feedback do u need for Poker 2? U basically can google Poker 2 review and u will be able to read alot of nice reviews out there from all over the world.

U r not sacrificing anything, u still own all the keys functions, just that they are on as secondary keystrokes, thats the main purpose for Poker 2 - Standard Layout, 60%, full functions with additional functions like programmable keys.
