Steerer tubes come in 3 standard sizes. 1" , 1 1/8" and 1 1/2" and the latter is rare. Most suspension forks are 1 1/8" but it is also available in 1". RST forks usually are sold without the steerer forks and there's an option to buy with 1" or 1 1/8". Off course the steerer tubes are chargeble too.

I don't know what your fork problem is, can you explain why it is loose?

so normally the wear and tear of front fork is the steerer or the fork ?? blink.gif

Normally forks last as long as the frame. There's no wear and tear on the fork. Only the headset bearings will get worn off, usually after water seeps in or the lubrication gets dry or worn off! Unless off course there's a crash and the fork is bent. If there are wobbles and shaking, probably it's because it got loose but was never tighten back again, leaving the friction to wear off the metal parts. The only contact friction should be on the headset bearings. So, a sealed bearing headset is recommended if you are not familiar with tightening the fork which will get loose after some bumps. Most foldies are not shodded with the sealed bearing headset which can be changed for less than a hundred bucks.

rst is one of the option i had (luckily sweat.gif )
me mysef not sure why its loose (riding style? sweat.gif )
its just dat one day i feel de front side shaky/wobbly
i tot de qr loosen...its not
go to johny to fix de front brake he told me my fork is shaky
well
since hes not fixing de fork or aniting
so i assume de fork is either unfixable or not worth to be fixed sweat.gif
anyway i already had a plan for de fork
im eyeing the rst from de ebay
its just dat when i know rst is a taiwan company
why on earth wud i order from de other side of de pacific?
so i wonder if taobao got de rst no steerer one
n ask robyn to look at taobao
hehe

I have some doubts about your fork wobbling. As I see from the pix of your bike, it uses a quill stem. This is an old design found in our old bikes where the stem has two metal wedges that tightens and grips onto the fork's steerer tube. Parts for these are easily found in any old timer shops but I doubt Johnny's stocks them. Try taking your bike to any Ah Pek's bike shop and I am sure they can repair and tighten it. Another point is, yours has a drop bar and I think it works better to have a non-suspension fork and I think any kiddy's 20 inch fork can be fitted if the need to change the fork arises. Take it to an old timer's shop and see if they can tighten it.

There are also a conversion quill stem that when used, you can get the regular stem (where you choose the angle and length ) and lock onto the adapter.

Why is there no knobby tire on 20" folding bike? Is it because of some restriction?

Could not cover the whole Taman yet but it is certainly challenging in some hilly areas. Use first gear to climb hill... cycle, cycle, cycle, then out of angin di. Wooo, memang sweat a lot until the salty sweat went into my eyes and got the stinging effect, first time dis happen .... now in addition to helmet, I got to use a head band to soak up my sweat....

Erm, so far so good for me on all the hill. Jes that one hill need to push. From entrance if u take the left turn will go to more hilly side. Jes b4 reaching Skytrex there is a right turn upwards the hill. That hill is unconquerable for my bike. Haha.. Climb about 60% before complete stand still. tongue.gif

I tried to ride thru the jambatan gantung but then decided to stop as it was too bouncy shocking.gif .. Ended up pushing thru. sweat.gif
I am not sure if I see correctly if it's your bike and not sure where I saw it liau tongue.gif
