QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Aug 7 2013, 06:20 AM) The current DRB management doesnt like the name Preve because of it is hard to pronounce correctly. I see.Heard that they will kill all previous Proton legacy for future models. All with new name. If DSZ is still managing Proton, the Preve name will remain. QUOTE(FlamingFox @ Aug 7 2013, 08:01 AM) I don't think people are mad. It is just about continuity. If BMW makes a a new 1 series HB, called it 8 series, people will complain. Makes no sense. QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Aug 7 2013, 10:38 AM) I'm not surprise because i already know from beginning they will not retain the Preve name. So this car is buatan juniors? The name is alright, but of course to use Preve make more sense. But as I said, it is DRB decision. A lot of Proton engineer who original work for P3-22A/P3-21A already left the company. |

QUOTE(herojack41 @ Aug 8 2013, 12:11 AM) current preve premium is 77k if imnm, i guess there would be a price reduction perhaps for the sedan.with 3k difference, i dont think you can get a different body style, more airbag, more gizmo and gadget and mostly different trim. the leak picture hint silver trim, most like faux aluminium perhaps |

if the collaboration with honda pulls thru, and proton will be using accord's chassis to be Proton Suprima... i guess that would be the sedan version. but then its 2 different cars. lol

I also wonder why they never named it Preve hatch, or Preve sports back or something. Changed to some brand that sounds like a loaf of bread or some canned product. It even could be a sub brand of some engine oil or petrol. Suprimak kau.

VW also name their Sedan as Jetta & Hatch as Golf, why nobody ask them to name it Golf Sedan or Jetta Hatchback ?Peugeot also name their sedan as 207 & hatch as 206 so why not 206 sedan. Toyota also name their Sedan as Vios & hatch as Yaris, why not Vios Hatchback ? Hyundai also i30 & Elantra, why not Elantra hatchback or i30 sedan, i40 & Sonata, why not i40 sedan or Sonata wagon. |

Actually it was stupid of them to separate the Jetta/Bora and Golf, otherwise they'd constantly be the best selling car in the world.Peugeot also name their sedan as 207 & hatch as 206 so why not 206 sedan. Toyota also name their Sedan as Vios & hatch as Yaris, why not Vios Hatchback ? Hyundai also i30 & Elantra, why not Elantra hatchback or i30 sedan, i40 & Sonata, why not i40 sedan or Sonata wagon. Yaris and Vios are no longer related btw., from what I heard. |

QUOTE(jolokia @ Aug 8 2013, 11:40 AM) Expect next Jetta using A6 / MQB platform as well. It's OK to give it a different name, but the problem is the name itself. The topic here is about name different between sedan & hatchback, I have shown P1 is not the only one even Big Car mfg do the same These kiddo simply wanna find fault. Forte is a good one, while it has a meaning (strong) it is from a language that not many are familiar with here. I also like the wind phase of VW naming. Santana, Golf, Bora, Jetta, Passat, ... Only Golf is a bit problematic. Suprima is simply a bit tacky. Like Toyota President, Crown etc., just that with those cars the name is at least quite fitting.
