I thought Proton Suprima gonna be a rebadge Honda Accord or something that will replace proton relic; Proton Perdana.

The name IS A PROBLEM. Front really looks like Proton Preve, it should have been name Proton Preve Hatchback or Proton Preve Sport or something. Check Ford Focus for example(Ford Focus Titanium, Ford Focus S and so on).

Bad naming will cause people to confuse.

Yes, the name could lead to confusion. But you cant say that by hearing the name itself is not nice @@ Just worried that it would backfire the model. The name is nice, just inappropriate.

One cant change the name simply just like that. Im guessing that it cant be changed.

Do you think it worth that price with all those features? Or should we look at different brand for that kind of price?

Definitely more worth it than Jayraptor N brand Forte EX kosong which is about the same price, Also very worth it compare to KIA Rio 1.4 (4AT), 24K cheaper than Cerato & Elantra 1.6.

The name is that of an adult diaper sort of brand.

Search for Suprima and this is what you get:


If I search for Preve, I get the Proton Preve. Focus get Ford Focus and a newspaper. Wira get Wiralution. Vios get Vios. Fiesta get Ford Fiesta. And so on. But Suprima... adult diapers. And it is pretty much the market leader in that sector, they dominate the market and are well established. A small Malaysian car maker won't push them away so easily.

Preve might be use again for the sedan replacement. Suprima for hatchback.

sounds stupid the name ... stick to one name cannot meh ... like how toyota, honda, bmw does ... ..

Toyota has several different names for vios. Mitsubishi has use different name for sedan and hatcbacb (mirage, lancer, colt).

The only thing that make suprima sound so stupid is because of there is a word Proton in front of it. There's no problem if there is a model called Toyota suprima.
