With the "s", i hope there is significant engine output difference with existing preve cfe.

Different setting in TCU of CVT and ECU.. yesterday had a discussion with Drex Chan from EA, a guy from Racechip and comparing my test drive experience with their knowledge about Preve. Came with the conclusion it has different setting due to 17' Rim for the higher end compare to sedan Preve.

Cerato is ok coz it's a new car although Cerato nameplate isn't new. The new Cerato got both sedan & hatchback which both maintain the Cerato nameplate.

It would take a while for people to get used to the Suprima name while they calling it Preve hatchback. Same goes with Gen2 & Persona when most people at the time still calling it Gen2 sedan before comfortably calling its actual name Persona as we do today. The new name would stick eventually.

I'm not surprise because i already know from beginning they will not retain the Preve name.

The name is alright, but of course to use Preve make more sense. But as I said, it is DRB decision. A lot of Proton engineer who original work for P3-22A/P3-21A already left the company.

Where does engineer go then? Other local assembly plant?

Then we can expect same reduced quality for the other CKD stuff.

trim a bit can become Preve Aero.. sounds not bad actually..

by putting a supreme sounding name like suprima, ppl will expect it performs supremely.

Yes, I know that's why my Honda is just like Proton in the interior plastic feel... also everything rattling.
Only engine is solid since that one imported from Japan.

At least my door handle don't break after a few months, the power window never needed repair after 8 years, interior plastic never change color after 2-3 years. Brake light never failed. (listed Proton defect is experience with Gen2)

i can see why DRB Hicom insisted on using different name because it's 'hard-to-pronounce'.

1/2 hour ago i showed my dad that the Preve HB is going to be called "Suprima" and he was some kinda relieved that Proton changes the name. Many of his friends from overseas were mocking on the "Preve" name stating that it's 'too mouthful' to be uttered, unless someone teaches them the correct way to say it, so most of them would just say "PRRRVRRR"

I'm not fond of Preve either, but... Suprima? And to think Skoda was mocked for the Superb... at least that is an above D segment car that is actually pretty good, and the name has been with the brand since the 30s or so. But calling a Proton Suprima is a bit ambitious, isn't it (apart from sounding like a tampon brand).

Ambitious but rubbish. Maybe DRB is infusing some Top Gear spirit into the car?
