not sure if u bring ur car to authorized dealer or KIA SCs.... from my experience with PJ Red Cube... if u have to leave ur car overnight for warranty claim...they will provide u a courtesy car usually a kia forte... at least this is what i got when i leave my car there for 1.5 days warranty claim...

Well i went to KIA HQ directly since the authorized dealer that i bought my car from doesn't help and keep on delaying my case. Sweet talk before you buy the car and once you bought the car, the service is horrible. 1st time in my life having so much problem with buying new car. From the not working GPS system to paint defect.
I don't mine if they can provide me a transport to use while my car send for repaint. But when i ask what am i gonna use for my transport to the SA, he can't answer me nor provide me with solution.

i see...in this case i think u shall just go to KIA official SCs for the warranty claim.... big SCs like the PJ red cube (their flagship SC) has in house paint shop and body shop.... whether it's paint defect or not i believe they can tell straight away... no worry abt replacement car as they have plenty kia forte 4speeder there for overnight warranty claim customers... anyway, good luck bro

Thanks to Edwin Loh, really happy to get my white baby today!
The remaining thing is to figure out what to do with polishing/coating....
One thing that make me a bit nervous is how the FC will be.

LATEST NEWS

Bank Negara has raised the benchmark overnight policy rate by 0.25% to 3.25%, the first rate hike since June 2011

For those who are interested to get a new car. Better to secure the loan now before the interest rate hike take effect. Do not wait any longer.

Hi, just got the Cerato 2.0 5 days ago, fantastic car!

By the way, found the GPS a little less user friendly, so I added PAPAGO X8.5, so far working well, no more annoying volume change when navigating, and can get monthly free & easy map update from  http://www.malfreemaps.com/

For those interested to try it, can download from
http://www.mediafire.com/download/893gyqs2...PAPAGO+X8.5.zip

just unzipped and copy the folder into GPS's SD card, then go to APPS>OPTION>SYSTEM to change Navigator Path to
\STORAGE CARD\PAPAGO X8.5\NAVI.EXE

next go to AUDIO>ADVANCE setting, set Navigator volume to +10 and Radio volume to -5, then start from Navigation button and enjoy it. Can always change back to Speednavi by changing the Navigator Path.

I've tried several option of Garmin XT but fail, just wonder anyone have successfully install it and like to share it.

thanks for sharing this utamabw. i like the part where it shows the real photo on which lane to turn to at the fork of the roads. really helps alot in deciding which lane to turn in to. however i still experience the volume change when navigating using radio. but with mp3 and dvd player it's fine. do you know how to fix it? thanks biggrin.gif

Guess it was bound to occur again some day. My gearbox problem happen again. Put into D and the gear would not engage. Raised it to KIA Korean engineer also when I saw him but he flatly refused to even look into it.

Cruise control also went crazy after that. Set to 110 and the car just went up all the way to 140 on 4th or 5th gear.

Agree, Sweet talk before you buy the car, before i buy Kia Cerato the salesman also talk with me if my car send to warranty and i don't have transport, they can provide me a transport, beautiful lies, but nevermind ,this not too important problem, now i know the problem is KIA don't have any technical knowledge, even the paint is using what type they also don't know, Import Kia Cerato Light Silver paint code is 3D, Local install Kia Cerato Light Silver paint code is A58.
If your car not have any problem, just is send to service, kia service center is can handle, but if your car have any defect they will not have any idea to settle, they just know change engine oil, oil filter, wash your car after services, thats all, Kia car engine is come from Hyundai, kia don't have development of engine, if have some problem is inside the engine ,this will make them dizzy, because they don't know engine is how to work, let say the engine leaking oil but they still don't have any idea to settle, just will say they already do something in your car engine and need you try to drive few week, repeat and repeat until your car warranty fail, If can't change a new car, maybe can try change the engine to try drive again, because if car engine have the problem is can't settle, who to bear, or maybe the new car have some problem but Kia factory In order to avoid losses and sell the defect car to customer.
When the owner found the car have problem, they will really don't know how to do, because the engine problem they already know before and they just will protect their own interests only.
now just can say buy a new car must look you got lucky or not.

You are so no lucky, i think your Kia is Kia factory rejected product, engine leaking oil and gearbox problem all is a car the most important seat,
you must strongly requested to change a new car or change a new engine and gear box.
Please don't think the KIA Korean engineer can help, they really is so stupid guy.
Now my Kia Cerato fuel save problem is settle, but don't think is kia settle for me, is Hyundai to help me, they just replace the gasoline nozzle from my car, now my Kia Cerato can go RM100/450KM-470KM with Potent Booster, last time without potent Booster RM100 just can go 300 KM-370 KM, so very very difference, maybe if you have friend is drive Hyundai, please try go with your friend to Hyundai services center ask them to help check your car, i also like that, i go Kia services center so much time they also do nothing, i follow my friend to Hyundai just one and half hour and settle, Kia Services Center please go back to car traning center to start learn again, don't take our car for traning.

How did you manage to stop the car? Failed cruise control is extremely dangerous. I don't think this is related to your gearbox. If gear could not engage, can be due to low transmission fluid since you have leaking problem, or fail solenoid. Happened to a K5 owner (read from fb smile.gif)

The car was going beyond 110km/h which is what I set. The RPM was somewhere beyond 5K RPM and the car was going past 130 km/h. When I saw that I quickly stepped on the brakes..The cruise control disengaged. I've experienced stuck cruise control before on other cars so I tend to be very careful when using it.

What's interesting is that the car was going past the speed I set. It was already set earlier at 110 and I braked and went to the left lane to let people pass. After cars passed I hit resume and the above happened. Not once but a few times.

Eventually the issue sorted itself and the cruise control was back to its normal behavior I left it alone and drove like 50km before trying it again.

The last time the gearbox issue happened there was an error that was logged indicating a communication error between the TCU and the engine. I suspect this is the case again this time. Will have it checked next week. Just so happen this occur when I'm driving the car on a trip.

I suspect the above same issue also caused the cruise control problem.

I asked the SC to drain and replace the ATF the first time this happened. They didn't though and will probably force them to do it this time around.

Interestingly both times This occurred, it was in the morning....

Just collected my k3 last weekend.
Many thanks to @Buydirect @ Mr. Loh for the quick and smooth delivery, as well as the detailed explanation of the car features even though he was kind of busy on that day.

Can't wait to explore the potential of the car after the break-in process!
