QUOTE(Dbassnut @ Jun 18 2013, 05:01 PM) Me too. Considering the Y500 or Y510p. Used to consider Asus but too many horror stories about their SC. Illegear is good but slightly out of my budget. Plus their SC is in Johor, so I cannot go & camp in their lobby if I send a lappy back for repair. Lenovo got a SC in Penang so I can go annoy them if something goes wrong. Plus, it's durian season. You don't want to have a argument with an irritated customer who just had durian for lunch. . If you getting y510p, check the processor is it running 4700QM as advertise. :3 because the new batch comes with 4702QM which is slightly low clock than 4700QM

For example, the SLI version is advertised as a a GT750M + ultrabay GT720M. For SLI, shouldn't both cards be GT750M? Hope the Y510p arrives in Malaysia soon.

I really liked the G55VX but it isn't so presentable for work as it really looks like a gamers dream machine. Lenovo Y500s & Y510p look more business like, & so do the illegear RS-15. Will probably be buying one of them after the Y510p comes in next month (hopefully). Also, plus for Lenovo is that I can upgrade the warranty to on-site warranty, which means their tech will have to come to my place & not I go to them.

QUOTE(maxlol @ Jun 18 2013, 02:06 PM) Lol the powder still stuck to the bottom grating Thanks. So far no disconnection and or random drops. Works normally on my streamyx 1mbps (maybe that's why). Not sure about blue tooth though haven't tested. I think that problem was for Y400 and Y500 650m. The problems they faced seemed to be rectified including touch-pad responsiveness. So far the only touchpad I like better are those on the MacBook Pro. Other problems that persist are some keys are only half lit and the build seems a bit iffy such as scratches right out the box. Other than that there's the white powder which I have no idea what it is. Lemmie tell you what it is, it's plastic or some glu material from the joints that lock the back cover to the mainboard together. Few weeks back I took out my back cover for the first time to install the 8gb cracial RAM and the mSata for my y500, in the process I'd break one of the joints, what i did was I'd superglued it back and put it under the Sun to dry, Then that white poweder started to appear, then I'd noticed that it was coming out from one of the other joints on the back cover. In your case however I think it's because of your lappie's heat [ mine was sun's heat ] so i don't think it's coming from the companents

I have this problem lol, but i tested the other joints of the back cover, they're quite sturdy also... Edit:typo This post has been edited by garfieldcrazy: Jun 18 2013, 07:09 PM

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Jun 18 2013, 11:31 PM) but will 750m goes smooth with metro:last light on ultra but 720p? Ultra possible if without AA and tessellation for full hd. Fps average for D6 inbuilt benchmark around 25 fps. At high without AA and tessellation around 30 fps. Interestingly enough my gpu temp is only 65C when playing at high for 1.5 hours. At 720p you can increase about 30% of those fps. Thanks for the reply. I contacted Lenovo and they say they have never seen such a problem before. The white coating corresponds to 3 streak-lines on the back vent. It is not everywhere as in they fall on 3 predetermined paths. Quite hard to take a photo as the lighting prevents the powder from being seen. The smell apparently is some sort of coating on the electronics. It'll go away after 1 month. http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-...nt/td-p/1063369

Time for me to shine on this V2 thread! Hi all! Lenovo y500 Gt750M SLI Variant (7 weeks) Owner here! Wanna ask to all those who owned y400/y410/y500/y510 with GT750M, have u guys found any new drivers for this graphic card? I'm stuck on using 311.27 driver (provided in lenovo website).... I googled and saw that there's already a 319.17 driver for gefore gt750M, but it's only for Linux and FreeBSD Someone suggested me on V1 Thread to try out 320.14 beta driver for gt740m for my lappy... is it ok? Anyone tried this and confirmed it's stable?
