Just saw this news which is back in May
Air asia X offer free ticker under IPO http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...08&sec=business Zero fare return air ticket to any destinations flown by the airline to investors that buy 10,000 IPO shares, and three tickets for those who buy 100,000 IPO shares as part of its shareholder benefit programme. Interesting approach |

Right now the local market is supported heavily by retailers and local fund... Sooner or later people will cash out. I am betting on sooner |

Should i buy a stock before or after ex-date? I understand if i buy before ex-date i will get the dividend and not get it after ex-date.
Assume I am buying for long term. You may say that if i buy for long term, it is ok either way. Would like to hear your view. |

QUOTE(gark @ Jun 12 2013, 12:00 PM) Got lah.. cash rich, consumer, crony business, stable business kind of stocks plenty wat... Pimco Sees 60% Chance of Global Recession in 3-5 Years High debt levels have raised the chances of a global recession in the next three to five years to more than 60 percent, said Pimco, which manages the world's largest bond fund. The world economy goes through a recession about every six years and the frequency of global recessions tends to rise when global indebtedness is high and falling compared with when indebtedness is low and rising, Pacific Investment Management Co (Pimco) said in a note published on its website late Tuesday. They have this campaign that the more you sell, the more company reward you.
Assuming you earn RM100,000, company give you another RM50,000 Sort of. And this marketing will be lasting until year 2015. So I assume agents will be very hardworking selling, busy climbing hierarchy. Therefore the best way is to buy the company share & get to enjoy the benefits & profits. |

Last time my family all used Amway products. As what Pana Jie says, quite troublesome because everytime have to wait for the agent to come and order products then wait a day or two for delivery. Things like toothpaste always last minute buy 1 ma
Now discontinued already. The only thing good to buy from Amway now is the vitamin pills. |

Greece became the first developed nation to be cut to emerging-market status by MSCI Inc. (MSCI) after the local stock index plunged 83 percent since 2007.
Greece failed to meet criteria regarding securities borrowing and lending facilities, short selling and transferability, said MSCI, whose equity indexes are tracked by investors with about $7 trillion in assets. Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were raised to emerging markets, while Morocco was cut to a frontier market. New York-based MSCI will keep South Korea and Taiwan as emerging markets, and placed Chinese shares traded local exchanges on review for inclusion in the emerging category, according to a statement yesterday. sos http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-06-11/g...e-upgraded.html |

QUOTE(Top Gun @ Jun 12 2013, 04:49 PM) I am hitting my heart so hard. fundamental play vs timing play.I didn't buy back last Friday at 0.70 after forced selling. This morning tried to fish at 0.845, no luck. Just about to catch the fish, the fish swam away. both side also got good and bad. play together might be maximize profit. you play margin, can only do timing play, that's very high risk. just some thoughts. AK controlling Malaysia’s O&G?
Has billionaire entrepreneur Ananda Krishnan secured direct control of a series of Sarawak’s off-shore oil fields through his Pexco division? Pexco Sarawak signed 4 PSCs (production-sharing-contract) for the large area west of the prolific Central Luconia Platform where there is more than 35Tcf of recoverable gas. “The area covers almost 25,000 sq Km and makes Pexco one of the largest acreage holders in Malaysia. “This year the company will aggressive acquire more than 3,600 sq km of 3D seismic in preparation for exploration drilling,” https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...g-malaysias-og/ |

average up is much harder to judge than average down.
down is easy, since it's simply getting cheaper and cheaper. buy lah. up is opposite, that's difficult. |

Either answer, your buying action was wrong and this is why the stock price moved down. Of course, one will say, I bought the correct stock. That stock is fundamentally strong. It fell cos..... err .... no luck. Maybe. But no matter what, you were wrong. Averaging down means you are buying more of your original mistake. Would you agree? Averaging up. You buy the stock, it goes up. Why? Right stock or the stock was bought at the right price. Or just plain lucky? But no matter what, you did something right. Averaging up means you are buying more of your original correct decision. But MANY would argue that they tend to lose money when they average up. Why? How come doing more (buying more) of a correct decision end up failing? Is this tactic wrong? How about asking if one was averaging up correctly? Simply adding up to a winning position and simply adding at any price is reckless and usually would fail. Me? I am a fan of averaging up. |

This totally depends on the investor business foresight and the only one he can blame is himself. I know you're a trader, maybe a very outstanding trader. Averaging up is a really good tool for trend trading purpose. Myself is an average investor and probably very bad trader, I know I am a bad trend reader / Technical Reader, that's why I only stick to my game. For you, averaging up is feel more safer because that's your game plan, while mine different, I am comfortable with averaging down here. Myself is an average investor and probably very bad trader, I know I am a bad trend reader / Technical Reader, that's why I only stick to my game. For you, averaging up is feel more safer because that's your game plan, while mine different, I am comfortable with averaging down here. Nothing wrong or right here, Anyway, do you know that even a famous investor like Warren Buffet had averaged up on one of his best investments, Coke? And also for your info, I am not a market timer either. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jun 12 2013, 09:00 PM) Don't la masta here and there. Haha... thanks master. Will try out average up technique later.Me just having some time to share some opinions only. There are tons of reading materials on the net but I think one of the criteria is when you add up, you add up in small quantities, so that after adding up, your average cost doesn't jump up. Ya, you can't double up when you average up. Ya last time i average up by doubling tne bet... kena trapped. |

I totally agree Boon on the theory of averaging up, because it reflects the right thing to do at that moment, while if the stock is going down, the tend to have some "bad" news that we are not aware of ........................... yet.

Not good time to buy or average or you could be buying into a falling market. It would Dividend ex date in 2 weeks and the price is now 2.57, I would say can buy lar. Divi is 13.5 cents be safer to wait for prices to stop falling and see how strong is the rebound first. Using charts have helped me to find good entry prices to buy good fundamental stocks at reasonable prices and not at peak prices and give me more chances to make good profits. If you simply and blindly buy without knowing the trend, you can lose a lot of money or get your money stuck in non -moving shares. Matrix is also not a good buy now. Just my observations. Not buy/sell recommendations. |

QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Jun 12 2013, 10:22 PM) How to earn money if not focus on timing / trend by averaging up? assume solely from trader perspective. foofoo and gark,Perhaps, you do not have to use the price factor or even charts to top up. For example, say you buy a share at 38 sen. Share is now trading at 70 sen. At first sight, topping up might be the last thing on your mind. You probably think of selling.... But what if... With the sharre consolidating at 70 sen, the company announces a brand new mega deal. A whole new deal which might see the company making big money. Would this 'fundamental' reason be good enough to convince you that the future is going to be very bright for this company? How about buy more shares of the stock? If yes, then why not 'average up' by adding a small 'portion' (try not to double up. You should have a solid reason to top up. It's as if you are new to this stock, never buy before and you feel that the current fundamentals is so compelling that you just want to buy. This is just a suggestion. LOL! And it's surely not a posting about white or black cats or even brown cats chasing after dogs. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jun 12 2013, 06:58 PM) Think of the simplest reasons. I've done average down and up, average down is a tough and pain decision to makeWhen you buy a stock and the stock price goes down, what essentially has happened? Answer: You either buy the wrong stock or you buy at the wrong price. Previously cherroy taikor mentioned about this, i concur with him, average up provide a much higher confidence for investor. Ah Boon, blow so much water, got tipsy today? |

QUOTE(Top Gun @ Jun 13 2013, 10:36 AM) Biasa lah, when talking here already becomes outsider news already. Cherroy should put big disclaimer here... I'll never call people here to buy anything by saying insider news, In fact, I've got so many insider news if I want to share, I only quietly buy the shares that I am comfortable with myself, Not that I am selfish, just that, win, I get nothing; but lose, I've got the blame. QUOTE(jerrychoo2004 @ Jun 13 2013, 10:37 AM) I can only tell you that insider news, often when you hear it, and you buy the shares, either you got conned, or even if it is true, you will be suffering for a long long time buy holding the shares. For example, more than 3 yrs ago, when Redtone issued the warrants, I've bought so many mother shares before right issue ex. At that time, I've got the so-called insider new saying that Redtone will comes to 0.80. After right issue, I've also collected a lot of its warrant, but it dropped like hell, and just stagnant there. Eventually, I've lost my patient with it and sold for lost. Ya, by calling myself a shark billis, I mean, my head is a shark head but my body till tail is ikan billis. When I swim around, Ikan billis all scare and cabut because of seeing my shark head. While I am looking for ikan bilis to eat, the real shark eat my body and tail from behind. Well, this is shark bilis. Eat nothing but always got eaten. |

They may not be accurate always but they are certainly extra tools needed to win in the share market which can slaughter you without mercy. I use charts to trade and know the support and resistance levels so I know when to cut loss and when to pick cheap fundamental shares which are likely to rebound. I do not need to stare at the trading screens for hours and can trade comfortably. I am not selling any trading systems. Just sharing my years of experiences. QUOTE(ngaisteve1 @ Jun 13 2013, 11:40 AM) Less cash on the tables for the world to play. Those got high gearings ( high debts ) may just go Holland in year or two. " Easy come, easy go. Hot money, or speculative capital flows, triggered by the U.S. Federal Reserve's ultra-loose monetary policy, is fast exiting emerging market equities, confirming worries over the negative consequences of such policies. Asia's top performing stock markets including the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia have erased a sizable portion of the year's gains, losing between 8 percent and 12 percent over the past two weeks, as concerns over the Federal Reserve's plans to scale back its bond-buying program triggered outflows. "We are seeing the reverse of what happened over the past 24 months. So the outperformers are now giving back their outperformance over this short period of time. It's been hot money moving in, and now hot money moving out," said Sani Hamid, director, Wealth Management, Economy & Market Strategy at Financial Alliance. The Federal Reserve's bond buying program has provided a steady stream of cash into emerging markets searching for higher returns. However, as the central bank prepares to pare back stimulus, investors are reassessing their positions." This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Jun 13 2013, 11:45 AM |

QUOTE(davidcch07 @ Jun 13 2013, 11:03 AM) Maybe you are with good intention to share, which I believe so, but, by making the insider news here is making it public. Those who don't really knows you that follow your buy call and buy, if the market U-turn like these few days, whatever shares also will dropped. And, if they makes a lost, they will blame you. Best is like me, only share with those that knows you well but not all. But still, for my case, a rich uncle (my supplier) that follow my "insider news" bought 2 counters. One of the counter did actually shoot up when the news came out, but he didn't profit taking. End up, he make loses and keep on average down, and now he got trap inside with few hundred thousands. Although it is not my false, and the insider news is 100% happened like I was the one who wrote the script, but seeing him paper lose today by following my buy call, I feel sorry for him even he never blame me. He knows for sure that I am not a conman. The other counter, I am still suffering more than he is as of today. That's why nowadays, I don't share with people insider news. If I choose to buy shares from the insider news here, if I lost, I've only got myself to blame. Treat it as a lesson loh. As for Redtone, I believe it will comes one. Now is just minor correction. I've heard enough about Redtone since 3 years ago. VT is behind mah. Hope I've make my point of view clear. |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jun 13 2013, 12:10 PM) Insider news? Long long time ago liao loh. The news I've got is about the 25b USD power plant project in Vietnam. I've got the news more than half year ago before the contract signed. I even knew that they were going to "hired" Magician to witness the MOU signing ceremony. |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jun 13 2013, 03:43 PM) Twice in a week It's a pre emptive strike against inflation and fuel subsidy reduction, as well as to control the depreciating rupiah. Foreigners will definitely welcome the fuel subsidy reduction. Market has corrected 12% from peak, prob the biggest correction in a year or so. Good time to collect.JAKARTA (June 13): Indonesia's central bank surprised the market for a second time this week by raising its benchmark interest rate, which had been unchanged for 15 months, by 25 basis points to 6.0 percent on Thursday. QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Jun 13 2013, 03:45 PM) It happened before. Andrew Burns, a lead economist with the Development Prospects Group at the World Bank, said a less supportive global economic environment will inevitably lead to an end to the "unsustainable" world of lower interest rates, particularly in Asia. "As liquidity becomes less abundant... there's going to be a less supportive global environment and that's going to show up in higher interest rates," said Burns. "Loans that have been undertaken at higher interest rates won't be viable... particularly in countries in East Asia and [Asia] Pacific, specifically, where there's been a very significant increase in credit over the last few years," he added. QUOTE(newbie99 @ Jun 13 2013, 03:48 PM) Indo Currency is dropping like Kaboom, 6% is not enough to stop the bleeding. In May, annual inflation eased to 5.47 percent, just inside BI's target range of 3.5-5.5 percent this year. A central bank official has said that after fuel prices are increased, the inflation rate could temporarily be as high as 7.8 percent. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Jun 13 2013, 03:54 PM |

QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Jun 13 2013, 03:56 PM) But Indonesia is fond of unrest that is why oil subsidy cannot be easily withdrawn.........another kaboom coming Considerable attention has focused on when the government will increase fuel prices to reduce the heavy burden on its budget from the subsidies, which are also blamed for a widening current account deficit. Indonesia has repeatedly put off a decision on subsidies, whose reduction is expected to significantly raise the inflation rate. The government is waiting for final approval by parliament of a financial package to alleviate the impact of costlier fuel before it pushes up prices at petrol stations.
