i want to ask, what is the difference between redeeming things via on-the-spot and at the treats fair which will be happening in 2 weeks time?

is it because treats fair will be cheaper points?

Anyway, Try to get Other Local Bank's CC like RHB , HLB much EZ to get Approval..., As for Overseas Bank-UOB also Not Bad

Not lower point per RM1... standard RM1 = 200 TP (0.5% rebate)
Good: Lots of vendors which normally don't offer TP redemption.

That is a bad practice from the bank's side (if you did not apply for the card through FD pledge). The last thing what a customer want is to be flooded with cards whenever he or she places a FD.

I applied for Maybank 2 card then i received a call from maybank saying that i need to put a FD in order for them to approve the cards and i did it. So that mean my maybank 2 card is tied with my FD? So that means i canot cancel my FD until i decided not to use the cc anymore?

@eimane, pls share the name of the retail/shop.

at least we will be aware of these names in our transaction notification.

AMEX it seems has no other security protection. dangerous. vmad.gif

you will gain higher approval rate if you have pledged FD with MBB, it is true as mentioned by branch staff. my friend got it approved by pledging 5k FD.

Booked hotel via Agoda after looking through a few website last weekend.

Room rate
RM155.00 - Pre-tax
Rm179.80 - Post-tax
RM170.36 - Paypal (-7% till 30 june, conversion from MYR-USD)
RM173.90 - MBB Charge (conversion from USD-MYR 2.08% increment)

Assumption:

RM160.86 - AMEX Rebate (5% cash rebate + 2.5% TP)
Effective (PP+AMEX) = 10.5% discount

RM169.55 - AMEX Rebate (2.5% TP only)
Effective (PP+AMEX) = 5.7% discount

A case report... using paypal and amex

wta on opening an Online account to Link my CC to it.
I went to the branch in hope to get the above done. Upon checking my identification by the officer, he notice i had a savings account which is INACTIVE. (I knew about this n i thought it has been deleted as i did not used it since 2007 and nvr bother to re-activate the account when they sent me the letter in the same year.)
Hence, the officer told me to go back to my home-branch to reactivate my acc, link my cc to that acc, apply mbb2u. I found this is quite absurd as I told him I rarely went back to my hometown and all I want is just an Online Account to link to my CC n not another savings acc.
Still he insist that I need to re-activate my inactive acc and he can't create another bank acc. for me as they only permit 1 customer = 1 savings acc.

Taking a day leave and back to hometown to get this done just for d sake of an Online account is time wasting for me to be honest. I also sent an enquiries to mbb on this matter. Hope to get more advice from those went through this situation before.

Kindly advise.
Note: PBB allow multiple savings account on 1 individuals.

*Online account = Maybank2u.com online banking

From MBB FAQ on Online Account :
QUOTE
Maybank customer with a Maybank ATM/credit card

Go to any Maybank ATM
At the main menu, select Maybank2u/Phone Banking/SMS Alert
Select Maybank2u Application
Key in your own 6-digit Maybank2u.com PIN
Repeat the 6-digit Maybank2u.com PIN to confirm
Perform your first time login on Maybank2u.com

I viewed the login page and the access no. is the no. on the credit card. while i need to get the PIN (password in this case).
How do i get it? it seems so simple and mayb the officer misunderstood the meaning of online account hmm.gif

**Note : using cc n i believe i don't have the PIN for it for ATM transactions n etc.

I have 3 savings account with Maybank =P So u can ignore what the officer told u.

Yes u can use your credit card, insert it into ATM machine, key in your 6 digit pin, which supposingly came separately after u received your ccard last time, or maybe u've changed it.

Then from the ATM, select M2U and key in your own 6-digit Maybank2u.com PIN.
