Ai yo, Fhaarkas
My heart hurt when I read/hear that statement from you.
Need so harsh meh.

If I hear/read from someone else, I probably going to dislike or biased thought against him/her.
*
Personally, I don't think he's harsh. Fact is, the truth itself is harsh.
If we want to improve and move forward, we need to highlight and recognize the weakness and limitation, emphasize how serious it is. If most people just, "it's ok la, it's not important", or "I can still live with it", etc. then... why they want to implement it?

When MS refresh Windows Mobile OS, I was really looking forward to see something "amazing" from them. Then came Windows Phone which is pretty much like an Apple introduced Product, restricting this and that, missing many "common" features. My first impression is... What HAPPENED to Microsoft?

Nonetheless, their deep Social Networks Integration is really good and there're quite a lot of good things they've done, but as others pointed out, some features, especially the "common" ones they didn't include, is simply... I don't know what to say... WP7 really lacks a lot of things, it's like they have totally NO experience in mobile OS, but actually MS have experience with Windows Mobile OS.
Moreover, in WP7, the contacts have limitation and looking at the restrictions, it seems like a database design issue; how could this be? Microsoft? A company which provides Microsoft Access and SQL Server? A company which provides database design courses?

Seriously, let's calm down and think for a moment.... if Windows Phone provides those "common" functions/features. They could've gain better FIRST impression (FIRST Impression is important) and done MUCH better.
WP7
Bluetooth file sending, that's just a simple features.
External Storage, Mass-Storage, another simple and basic feature for 'smartphones'
Relies on Zune....
But somehow they follow Apple's footsteps. Did you see that? iOS/iPhone was practically an iPod Touch with Phone Function and relies on iTunes.

Anyway, today's WP8 is MUCH better compared to WP7, but just saying, they could've avoided many of the issue earlier. Many times, it's the ignorance of user's request, just do a search for Bluetooth File Sending, there's a request filed officially and how long it takes for them to actually recognize it.

Wow, finally a comparison website. rclxms.gif
The 1020 seems to capture more details and is sharper, but seems like suffering from wb problem.

Obviously certain states will have earlier access to the stocks and being allocated with more stocks through official channel. But if you are talking about the AP set, then it is hard to say so.

RRP wise is the same nationwide bro. Just that some stores may have different promotional package.

Lumia device tend to have white balance issue, I dunno why is that so. But luckily that white balance can be tweaked with the preset 4 options. They said it has something to do with the OIS or somesort, but I just simply don't understand. Maybe there is someone care to clarify?

what Lumia are you using? Anyway, anyone will do. When you are using the default camera apps, you can do further adjustment via the setting button (the 3 dots there), that's where you can adjust the white balance that the app provide with preset 4 adjustments such as daylight, fluorescent, etc (couldn't remember the name).
One tips that Adam Lein from Pocketnow suggest is that you get a white card and adjust your camera accordingly to the above mentioned 4 white balance adjustment to get the accurate white color on the white card and there you will get the accurate color of photo shooting.

Thanks for the headup.
I had completely forgot about Windows Mobile.

Now, there is even less excuse for Microsoft's slow performance.

What a crap "comparison". Sure set everything to Auto and snap away to judge which camera has the better optic. It should be called firmware comparison instead lol. shakehead.gif

DPreview Connect is going to review Z1's camera in a few days time. In the meanwhile, let's bask in the glory of L1020. http://connect.dpreview.com/post/523489204...0-camera-review

yeah, for some reason, Sony Xperia team really should borrow some technicians from the Sony Alpha Camera team. The camera on the Xperia just sucks whole time, even the other competitors who use the same camera module from Sony can tweak the photo result better. I love Sony products, but when it comes to Xperia Camera, I just can only shake head.

Every Lumia since the 800, 900 has this white balance issue, just that WP8 has less of this hiccups.

Hmm... I always thought Sony likes to integrate their technologies and pack it up as one, just like the Sony Ericsson's K's series Cybershot. Perhaps in the future maybe?

What happen to the Xperia? I always thought the Z1/Honami takes good picture?

---
Fhaarkas's dilemma has always been part of mine back in the WP7 before I switch,

- lack of basic features, features that aren't used by many but happy to see it there.
- MSFT being NA-oriented, as well as all their other services, take their Xbox and Windows Lives Game DRM for example. laugh.gif
- Hardcore WP8 users felt like white rats.
- MSFT being slowpoke.
- WP team making dumb decisions?

To make you feel much more better when using a Lumia phone, like how Nokia would advertise their phones,

+ It's a camera with some smartphone functions.

---offtopic---
Allow me to post some of my past-WP7 phones, HTC HD7 was one of my favourite, it has a fake BoomSound and the kickstand was simply godsend. My wish with hTC is that they can restart the whole thing into a new HTC HD8, that would be great.
