So, at the end of the day, it is necessary to have a microsoft related email after all, in order to use all the features, in particularly skydrive. I guess not a big issue to have a hotmail. But maybe for the initial login to surface rt, I can create a login user id.

No, you guys got the wrong idea. The main thing is that you need to create a Microsoft ID, which you already have if you were using Hotmail or Outlook.com.

You can sign up for a Microsoft ID using other domains like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. etc. Just that you'll need another round of validation of that email account after that.

You can use all MS services as long as you have a Microsoft ID. It doesn't need to end with Hotmail.com or Outlook.com

I myself am using a Gmail domain login for my Microsoft ID.

i have all actually.

i ranked ipad 1st,followed by surface and third android tablet.if not because lack of apps on window rt i would ranked it 1st place together with ipad.

Yup.. that is what I am afraid as well. As not many existing apps developer want to release apps to Window. If I am not mistaken, Microsoft paid to Facebook and some other popular apps company to release apps to its platform.

Didn't buy, it's basically in the FIRST area where all the big name booth's are, you'll see an MS Booth with all the keyboard, mice.. and of course.. Surface and Surface Pro
