I think it's perfect for me who do coding in campus, don't wanna bring my Retina MBP 15 to campus lol

In term of the pen it's a great addition but if Photoshop optimized with pen input. I'm sure artist will appreciate it smile.gif

Do you mind if I put your review on first page?
*
Remember that if you want to use Photoshop with the Surface, you need to install these drivers to allow for pressure sensitivity detection
http://www.wacom.com/shared/downloads/driv...ualtouch-driver

You should probably put this link on the 1st post Xirality.

wonder is there any way to lower the heat? use about 10mins start to feel hot on my lap already
*
what are you doing? Intensive work that drives the CPU up obviously makes it a super hot plate. You could try lowering the max CPU performance which might limit the heat generated.

oh ya, then windows store? got lot apps o not? i saw review mentioned that lack of apps in store..
*
As mentioned, if you're a heavy Word, Power Point, Excel user, you're pretty much good to good with Windows RT, heck with the Windows 8.1 update you'll be able to get Outlook as well.

As for the apps, remember, it's never the quantity of the apps. It's wheter or not the apps you want are available or not. Basically you probably won't find most of the games from iOS and Android in the store first except for the major ones, so if gaming is more important than a fully functional Office to you than Windows RT is probably not for you.

On cool. I just found out can use USB hub with the RT. Did you guys know? sweat.gif
*
USB Hub support is inherent for anything that support USB properly, just that if what you plug in requires too much power, it might not work unless you get a powered USB hub.

hey guys wanna ask u guys are able to access password encrypted ext. hard drive on Surface RT? also what about playing files like .mkv, .avi? :/
Planning to get one since the price has gone down but these two are holding me back ><
*
You can read BitLocker encrypted thumbdrives on Windows RT.

I'm not too sure about video players for MKV or AVI, your best bet is to recontain the file in MP4 as long as the codecs are supported by Windows RT, which aren't much just the usual H.264 and AAC type of things.

Means Pro can install anysoftware like a laptop while RT just stuck with Microsoft apps market ?  sad.gif

How much is the pro price ? since I heard there are price drop.
*
Surface Pro is a NORMAL WINDOWS 8 NOTEBOOK, something which a lot of people still don't understand.

As for the price drop, unfortunately, The only Asian countries that have the discount seems to be HK and China, I guess it's selling too well in Malaysia and Singapore for a discount then? tongue.gif

So, at the end of the day, it is necessary to have a microsoft related email after all, in order to use all the features, in particularly skydrive. I guess not a big issue to have a hotmail. But maybe for the initial login to surface rt, I can create a login user id.
*
No, you guys got the wrong idea. The main thing is that you need to create a Microsoft ID, which you already have if you were using Hotmail or Outlook.com.

You can sign up for a Microsoft ID using other domains like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. etc. Just that you'll need another round of validation of that email account after that.

You can use all MS services as long as you have a Microsoft ID. It doesn't need to end with Hotmail.com or Outlook.com

I myself am using a Gmail domain login for my Microsoft ID.

With the current i5 surface pro, there's already enough grouses to keep it from being "successful" eg high price, low batt life (4 hours), etc etc. Some more want i7? blink.gif
*
Yeah, that's true, even now people complain about the price, totally forgetting that unlike the iPad you're not buying an appliance but rather a full PC! If it was a core i7 and reaches RM4k then people would complain even more!

You are right, ALL windows RT devices comes with Office Home & Student Edition, it's what makes Windows RT attractive for people who needs Office in an ultra portable, long battery life scenario.

Hmm.. looking at the Malaysian Surface website, I think the RM2799 price for 128GB should be permanent now.

https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-my/

Cause it says Pro starts from RM2499 which was the price for 64GB during the PC Fair

Planning to get Surface.

My question:
Is it safe to plug in full day while at work at office?
Will it over charged?
Will it affect the battery life?

I intend to plug in full day at office so that when use at home i have full battery.
*
It's ok to keep the Li Ion battery plugged in all day, it's what I do. Just remember to cycle it from full to low battery warning a few times.

I need some advice from RT user.  I am thinking of getting RT for my wife because she need something like a laptop that use Microsoft Explorer which is the only browser support by Kenanga Investment Bank mobile remisier platform.

So the question is whether the RT have full Explorer with flash or Java support that will be compatible?
*
Windows RT has Flash support unless the site is blacklisted, but does not have Java support. Also, you mentioned a bank which only supports IE, it might be using an Active X plugin which also won't work on ARM devices. As others have mentioned do test it out at a demo site first (remember to run in incognito mode when testing your bank login!)

Will Surface Pro be enough for Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC? I use them mainly for retouching photos and exporting bulk photos, not doing any designing.
*
I guess depends on how big a picture you edit, since the Surface Pro only has 4GB of RAM.

I should wait until Surface Pro 2 comes out? Will it come here the same time it is released for sale? I might get it as my Christmas present

Will it ever get here? Probably, before Christmas this year? It would be as big a surprise as the Sony PS4 launching in Malaysia before Japan! tongue.gif
