QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Aug 1 2013, 03:43 PM) wah, a review, too soon for me actually, but a quick one may be possible, i hardly use the RT btw. Plan to trash it out in the coming weeks for a full review.Surface RT goods Battery Life - 8 hours lighter than Pro as its arm architecture, RT will NEVER give you a blue screen Connected standby- even when machine is on stanby, you still get latest updates / news feeds/mails upon wakinf it up with 8.1 can join domain free lync / outlook / word / excel / powerpoint /one note (savings of at least 600 bucks here) bads needs the original converter for vga - oem ones doesnt work may be slower for multi tasking unable to use x86 apps / relies on store apps Surface PRO goods a complete replacement for laptop - its my work machine now lovely screen resolution able to use oem mini dp to vga converter to extend screen runs all program from you usual desktops / lappies plus all in store bads Max 4 hours battery life Heats up pretty fast Gotta pay for ms office Heavier Connectivity off when hibernating/sleeping to preserve battery. means apps dont get updated This post has been edited by mixologist84: Aug 1 2013, 04:35 PM |

QUOTE(Silverfire @ Aug 1 2013, 05:37 PM) Where can you get those cables for Pro? I found this IPMart but you still have to purchase the cable http://www.ipmart.com.my/main/product/Mini...php?prod=362306 1. cables for pro can get from Lowyat / Pudu / ebay (this is Mini DP to VGA) (20-30 bucks)And this forum link http://forums.wpcentral.com/surface-window...micro-hdmi.html says that the RT works with micro HDMI to HDMI cable. 2. i think you misunderstood, we have no problem with micro hdmi to hdmi . the problem is micro hdmi to vga and specifically extending via projector |

QUOTE(subrok007 @ Aug 7 2013, 10:41 PM) after play around rt at harvey norman, touch cover really suck. sometime u press also no respond or touch also no respond. But type cover feeling good as laptop keyboard. FYI type cover selling at rm409. Been using for about a month now, i have nothing to complain about touch kboard. But then again, it's individual user preference RT no so lightweight compare those nowadays tablet like ipad mini or ipad. But its really likely to replace laptop or netbook. Also a I'm really anticipating the keyboard with battery pack, once that's available, I plan to let go my touch keyboard. |

QUOTE(chinti @ Aug 9 2013, 12:17 PM) guys, im in a dilemma here. my dad wanna get me a tablet but im not sure to go for ipad mini or surface RT. advise pls, mostly use for reading ebook only, dn wanna get kindle coz cant do anything else. It depends on what else you plan to use it for. If you're a candy crush / clash of the titan person , then this is not the one. But there are good apps at the moment in the store and more awesome apps are in the baking tray. But if you are looking at a mini PC like capable device with productivity capabilities the RT marks the spot. But based on your post which on reading device, then RT fits your bill, bugger screen with better resolution. |

QUOTE(timetravelller @ Jul 15 2013, 08:52 AM) lately microsoft offer for lot company for selling surface rt at RM691, surface pro at RM750. so cheap? thats purely for education cust's only - students nd campus members.it is a std practice for all edu organisartions to pay a very minimal amount for softwares , and at times h/ware too. The thread that was opened was by a a person who has a lobang to procure the surface via edu organisation. Technically its not wrong but practically its not right |
