I'm waiting to get my surface rt and currently looking for an sdxc card. Anyone know what the max speeds the rt can handle? Was thinking of getting the new extreme micro sdxc.

Dem rite.. I got no idea compare to ultra..  sweat.gif

my intention just to get the largest size and the fastest so can 'match up' the ssd speed.

HAHAHA. How much and where did you get your card from? Last I checked it was going for RM300.

QUOTE(Xirality @ Aug 2 2013, 08:57 PM)
I think extreme is faster than ultra.
*
Yeah, it is. Just wondering if the RT can even surpass Ultra speeds and reach Extreme speeds. laugh.gif

how much you bought those??where??
*
Haha. You're interested too eh bro? tongue.gif

I can't find them on the forums yet either. I know Digital Mall got sell, RM 3xx listed price for the 64 GB version. rclxub.gif

But I suppose since it exceeds their own rated speeds, it's pretty awesome. Just don't know if the surface can even reach the rated speeds. LOL

The Samsung Pro SDXC can be found on the forums and is a tad slower than the sandisk, at I think 70 Read/30 Write or something like that for about RM 240 or so. Baik beli Extreme. doh.gif

USB Hub support is inherent for anything that support USB properly, just that if what you plug in requires too much power, it might not work unless you get a powered USB hub.

True i suppose. laugh.gif

Get a portable HDD that cost around RM23X 1TB  brows.gif , sure imba storage available  laugh.gif .

Edit: btw, did anyone tried usb splitter to see if it works on at least 2 device plugin for RT?
*
Well, apparently the surface is even compatible with a 10 port hub and there's a video of it connected to 8 devices.

I massaged kaiwen, David and solar wing. All no stock yet for the micro sdxc extreme. sad.gif

Definitely! As of now, the only place I know to get currently the fastest micro sdxc is in digital mall. Haven't checked out LYP yet.

On the forums, there's the Sandisk Ultra and Samsung's SDXC, which has higher read speeds than the Ultra, but probably similar write speeds.

Apparently Sandisk made a new 80mb/s version. Saw it today at Lowyat. Currently the Sandisk mobile ultra 32gb goes for RM89. Unfortunately I only the SD 32gb 80mb/s being RM159.
*
Yeah, that would be the SanDisk Extreme micro SDXC, up to 80 read, 50 write. Sells for about RM300 or so last I saw for the 64 GB.

Got my suface rt today!

If anyone is out and about looking for San Disk's Extreme Micro SDXC, you can grab them in digital mall (pretty sure lowyat will have as well). The really fast ones are the 32 and 64 GB versions, the 16 GB version has a slightly slower write speed IINM.

32 GB goes for RM 169 and 64 GB is going for RM 330 at All IT. I've seen places that sell the 64 GB one for 300.

I got myself a 32 GB! rclxm9.gif

bro...IMHO...i think its better to buy a slower microSD at a cheaper price...can you recommend any microSD that can be put into the RT that is cheaper...the 32GB one..if 64GB microSD=rm3++...i think better straight buy 1TB hard disk...i dunno..it is just my opinion smile.gif
*
Haha. I know what you mean bro. That's why I didn't buy the 64 GB one and settled for the 32 which was cheaper. You can check out San Disk Ultra, the 32 GB and 64 GB are about 100, the 32Gb definitely below 100.

If you want something faster than the Ultra, Samsung Micro SDXC. look for kaiwen on the forums. She/he has it. But if I remember correctly, it's quite expensive. But you can always hit him/her a PM and ask. If you're interested la. laugh.gif

thanks for the info...care to give some review on the RT??can't wait mine to arrive
32GB for RM7x??cheapest available??btw the Surface can insert any SD card or need to be specific??
*
Haha. First I need to learn how to use this, still not used to the interface or Win8. Been on 7 for too long. tongue.gif

Any Micro SD can fit, up to Micro SDXC. Max capacity is 64 GB. As for the read/write speed of the device, I'm not too sure yet. Will find out a way to test it with my card and update. That is, if I can get the test done. tongue.gif
