If I am using my MB for long hours, do I: a) Plug in the power cable with the battery inside b) Use it with just the battery and recharge when the battery finishes c) Remove the battery and plug in the power cable? Oh yea, how may of you with white MB's put a silicon cover over the keyboard? |

Got other gadgets that uses Wifi anot, like PDA and all. If got then you can use that to test. Either that or you take your MB to Starbucks to see if you can can connect to their Wifi.
With silicon quite hard to type rite? Its not smooth. |

QUOTE(sugarboi @ Jun 20 2007, 08:46 PM) Btw, I got another question. If I am using my MB for long hours, do I: I think option A would be the best bet... The battery will stop charging when it's full and the MB would run with power from the cable... Option B would lead to increased battery cycles, which will reduce the lifespan... Option C is possible, but make sure the power supply is stable & the power cable is neatly organized... You wouldn't wanna lose your work if there's a sudden power blackout or someone trips on the power cable... With magsafe it's so easy to accidentally detach the power cable, so you'd wanna think about that too a) Plug in the power cable with the battery inside b) Use it with just the battery and recharge when the battery finishes c) Remove the battery and plug in the power cable? |

A Macbook 2.0 GHz, 2 GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM running at 90 celcius/ 6200rp, normal ar or should I start worrying that something will melt?
*edit* temp went down to <60 celcius after reboot. Apparently I was running gazillions of widgets so that's why the temp went all the way to 90 celcius I'm planning to get a cooling pad from coolermaster but most of it says it supports 15 inch and widescreen laptops. So where does my Macbook fit it? This post has been edited by sugarboi: Jun 22 2007, 06:03 PM |

QUOTE(benQue @ Jun 22 2007, 06:32 PM) Naa... Not really left out, it was never a discussion about the price. Was just usability.Anyway RM189(wired) for the quality and design, it's worth it. Though I cant say the same for the wireless model, RM289 for a mouse is a little to much. Hope i got the prices right |

Hmm yesterday I was working on my Macbook Pro suddenly the screen went blank. Connected it to mains and the light showed green. Also notice that the icon above says no battery. Took the battery out and put it back in and still no luck. So battery dead?
Live in TTDI so assume best place to send is either 1Utama or Ascend at the Curve? |

Or you can do it to a whole folder. If you know the name you can open it in the finder by going to "Go to folder" (command-shift-G) and typing the full path name ("/Users/sugarboi/.secretfolder").another question. if i have some files i dont want people to see, how do i hide it on a mac? on pc, i usually just make hdden.. |

QUOTE(wjie20 @ Jun 28 2007, 12:18 AM) hey guys...i duno if this has been posted before but...has any1 felt that their MBP with 2gb ram has slowed down? There are three possibilities:my specs... 2.16 C2D and 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM when im photoshoping its lagging...not that bad but its getting worst i guess 1. It's your Harddrive. Either you've almost filled it to the brim and therefore photoshop is unable to efficiently utilize a scratch disk OR your files are fragmented and you need to run a defrag (I use iDefrag) - you'll need to use a boot disk of some sort. 2. You're running out of RAM. The universal version of Photoshop (CS3) is much more RAM efficient (see point 3 below). If you are running multiple filters on very large files; it's most likely this. I upgraded to 4 gigs of RAM particularly with Photoshop/Aperture in mind. Cheapest I found was at www.mcetech.com at US99 per 2 gig stick. 3. You need to run the universal version of Photoshop (CS3). The earlier version forces Rosetta emulation which would naturally be slower. |
