Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator.

Hi, I just bought a MBP recently. It has been a while since i last use mac(Ibook, 4 years ago) so can anyone help me out with this?

I successfully converted all my emails to entourage. The first two days it was working fine. Then after that, a week now actually, i can NOT send any mail out but i can still receive. I doubt its my setting as my incoming and outgoing stmp is the same.

Can anyone help me out on this? pls. thankkss

my sis actually screamed so loud thinking that she got a free ipod shuffle inside the box.
hahah.
anyways, how do i install vista?
i suppose my black macbook of the older spec is able to support it, no?
*
The old MB's came with 512 mb of RAM right? If so, I don't think Vista would run very nicely on it. 1 gig should be ok though... How are you planning to run Vista? Bootcamp or something like Parallels?

for macbook, whether it's new or old version, it's still same-same.. Processor speed ain't that important for normal user. nod.gif

256mb or 512mb is the min spec for vista. My machine only 768mb ram, vista works smoothly. biggrin.gif I still prefer winxp thumbup.gif

Btw, you need to dl bootcamp from apple site. Well, you can try VMWARE fusion for virtual pc. Currently it's beta. Free for the beta (not like parallels, which got expire date eventhough it's still a beta software) icon_rolleyes.gif

Sometimes SSL (Secure Socket Layer) blocks outgoing emails. Try disabling it in your account settings. My Gmail works fine with SSL, while my Streamyx email requires me to disable SSL.

One piece of advice though, from my experience, Entourage is very slow. Apple's Mail is works much better.

Yea, good idea to upgrade your HDD when it's new. Wont need to go through the trouble of reinstalling everything and transferring your files over later.

So, that means I can DIY the rams. From what I understand, OS X is already installed in the current HD rite? So when I get a new HD will they reinstall OS X for me or I also have to DIY that?

I just got my MB and a wired mighty mouse. Why is the mouse still so laggy when I already cranked the sensitivity to the max in system pref?

What surface are you using the mouse on? Try using a proper mouse pad.

I get really bad lags too on my Mighty, I just restart my Macbook and switch off then on again the mouse. (mine is wireless)

Using it on my table surface. Thing is, when I plugged in my PC's Logitech mouse, its super sensitive unlike the mighty mouse

*edit* just restared it. I think there is a slight difference. Going horizontal seems fast but when i try to move the mouse horizontally, it feels laggy.

You will definitely need a proper mouse pad. I had the same problem until I got the mouse pad.

I'd still prefer PC mouse over the Mighty Mouse.

Until you get used to it, Mighty Mouse is really "mighty" !! The accuracy, buttons, the very very useful scroll wheel, and not forgetting the design rclxms.gif

Check your System Preferences under "Dashboard & Expose". You can also reassign your shortcuts there.
