Can a MB be left on and running for 24/7 without any serious effect?

So, that means I can DIY the rams. From what I understand, OS X is already installed in the current HD rite? So when I get a new HD will they reinstall OS X for me or I also have to DIY that?

I just got my MB and a wired mighty mouse. Why is the mouse still so laggy when I already cranked the sensitivity to the max in system pref?

Using it on my table surface. Thing is, when I plugged in my PC's Logitech mouse, its super sensitive unlike the mighty mouse

*edit* just restared it. I think there is a slight difference. Going horizontal seems fast but when i try to move the mouse horizontally, it feels laggy.

okay this is not a very uncommon problem..got myself a macbook the 5999 one during the last pcfair and i kept it dormant for quite a while and now once i took it out the problem is i can't connect my baby through airport and now terpaksa go to the cyber cafe to type this post out ahaha so what actually happened? WEP password or modem compatibility crap? laugh.gif

Try to disable all the security features on your airport and see if it makes a difference.

Btw, I got another question. If I am using my MB for long hours, do I:
a) Plug in the power cable with the battery inside
b) Use it with just the battery and recharge when the battery finishes
c) Remove the battery and plug in the power cable?

Oh yea, how may of you with white MB's put a silicon cover over the keyboard? sweat.gif

Got other gadgets that uses Wifi anot, like PDA and all. If got then you can use that to test. Either that or you take your MB to Starbucks to see if you can can connect to their Wifi.

With silicon quite hard to type rite? Its not smooth.

A Macbook 2.0 GHz, 2 GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM running at 90 celcius/ 6200rp, normal ar or should I start worrying that something will melt?

*edit* temp went down to <60 celcius after reboot. Apparently I was running gazillions of widgets so that's why the temp went all the way to 90 celcius

I'm planning to get a cooling pad from coolermaster but most of it says it supports 15 inch and widescreen laptops. So where does my Macbook fit it?

After bout an hour of movies, my MB is around 55-60 celcius. 70 is rather high i think. Whats your fan speed?
BTW, anyone here has problems where by while watching a movie the audio doesnt sync with the video?
I watched the same episode of CSI on my PC. It was fine. I tried it on my MB with Quicktime and the audio was about 2 seconds slower. I tried it with VLC and it was bout 1 second slower? Any idea what's causing this problem? Doubt it's the file..

I saw RM 200 at a shop at Digital Mall. At least thats what is says on the price tag la. Is there any other 'non-standard' cable ar that does the same thing? whistling.gif

Try to crank up your fans using smcFanControl. Might help.

If I want to use my MB for a very very long time, is it advisable for me to remove the battery pack and run it using the power cord or leave the battery pack there and just plug in the cable?

How do you double click to open an app? What I do is right click then choose open. Can't I like just double click it to launch the app?

Erm, you can.

If you are using the trackpad, try going to the settings and set the double click speed to be slower. Then it is better.

Fixed. Thanks. rclxm9.gif

What games do you guys play on your MB's? I'm playing Age of Mythology just for the sake of it.

How do you guys cool your MB's apart from cranking the fans to its maximum speed? I already did that. Whenever I play Age of Mythology for like 2 hours straight, the temp soars to 90 celcius and the game lags massively and I am forced to quit it. I tried raising the MB by putting a few books beneath it but cant seem to notice a difference in temps.

Can you please take a picture of it? I'm still not sure how it should look like. Never made anything before myself but there's always a first time. =)
