QUOTE(bennedict82 @ May 7 2013, 11:07 PM) Highway speeding 100-140 (20 min a day)City driving 20 - 80 (10 min a day) Jam 0 - 30 (30 min a day) I accelerate slowly on all occasions, AC at comfy level. And I don't read tge FC direct from tacho. I do manual read, pump, read, calculate method. All the above are info for working days. 0800 go work, 1830 off work. Weekdays 95% highway. Nice info. Thanks. Need to clarify a few things. 3) No auto up side window - Oh, I thought I read somewhere says YES. Luckily you highlighted. Thanks. 4) Bloody noisy, hard tyre - Did you change them??? A lot better??? 6) Rear absorber too soft to my liking but considering my parents and my future boss (my kids) sitting at the back, better dont touch it. Else can be fixed with the spring cushion at rm 38 (plug and play) - Spring cushion??? Get it from where??? I own a City now. The car treats me well all these years and I'm a big fan of H. Still hesitate whether or not to jump ship. |

Good car that lasted me 5 years and still no problem till the minute I sell her. Miss it much sometimes. Hope that the new owner treats her well. I have not changed them. Still scouting for he best balance in performance + comfort + price. A colleague changed to PS3 and a friend change to GY Assymetry F1. Both has significant noise reduce. Performance do not know because I do not want to get behind other people's cockpit. Another friend who came from Kenari however says that the noise is very acceptable even after 10 months of driving. He even says it is not noisy when I asked for his opinion before I buy. I guess it is subjective. Spring cushion can get everywhere. Online also can buy. Just need to scout around. If the car is treating you well, no point pushing for a new car because he has she has. Unless the H is giving you problem, or you are planning to upgrade yourself be it practical upgrade, safety upgrade, status upgrade, self feel good upgrade. For me, it is all the above. |

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ May 7 2013, 09:53 PM) Ah...I was there for chasis foam too. Under the seats' road noise reduced, but boot very noisy now. Vibration wise, car became bumpier cz less flex. Handling definitely better. Cornering better, braking better. Yellow line less obvious but if go through the big yellow line from Kelana Jaya to Canon bridge, ass still pain. Will go do boot treatment next. may i know whether u do the whole car including door sill etc or only undercarriage center and rear foam? |

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ May 7 2013, 05:09 PM) I have been driving a 2.0 for almost 2 months. Never regretted buying it. I am a bloody kiasi fellow so I have read through all the threads in reverse manner from thread V16 that time. I decided to place booking after I have finished V10 and some of the S'pore threads, international reviews, discussing with open minded friends. I did those and I know what to expect out of the car. You should do that too, because if you are expecting a BMW build, you will bound for disappointment. i have enjoyed reading your sharing My comments on the car:- Good 1) Very very fun to drive especially with the paddle shift (2.0 do not need to change to triptronic mode to downshift) 2) Lots of practical gadgets to play with (love the bluetooth connectivity, MDPS, chromatic rear view mirror, rear view camera). Don't know how to drive without them now 3) Safety (TC saved me once conciously) 4) Fuel consumption for me is currently 12km/l - 12.5km/l using RON95. 80% H, 20% C, with highway vroom vroom at constant 110 - 130km/h, daily 20 minutes light jam in total before and after work 5) Do not know why but the car boosted my ego (not sure if this is good) 6) Stable handling at high speed (maybe it is because the car is heavy) 7) Quiet cabin (barely hear engine noise from cabin at stagnant) 8) Cannot stop looking at it when I am at home and cannot wait to drive her back during off work 9) Lots of hidden features (not published) which might save you in some of the times Bad 1) If I were to do step by step car upgrade the next time (to D segment), I am not sure if any other brand car can give me the same gadgets, driving assistance and safety without poking a hole in my wallet 2) SpeedNavi GPS is not that great but can make it to PAPAGO 3) No auto up side window 4) Bloody noisy, hard tyre 5) Car tend to flex too much to my liking, affected the my braking style, but I fixed it with foaming 6) Rear absorber too soft to my liking but considering my parents and my future boss (my kids) sitting at the back, better dont touch it. Else can be fixed with the spring cushion at rm 38 (plug and play) There are a few mild mods that I will want to do (filter and plugs). All plug and play which most of the forumer here claimed that it gave possitive effect. If you need more push, go read our first page. It has all the reason for you to buy a Forte. At that price, maybe more expensive, you buy ToyVi & HonCi & Maz2 & NisAl. Those supposed to be good car (not to say problem free), but they are too honest. All of them are B segment with smaller internal cabin size, kosong car. I am glad I did not choose any of that. All and all, I will be having kids soon and I just want a safe car to drive in. Sh*t happens on the road and there is a reason why they call it accident. Lastly, your money, your car, your choice. quite regret i've chosen 1.6 instead of 2.0 |

Front don't want to do because if accident, impact will transfer to driver. That is also the reason why Forte's front has 2 layer, for impact absorbtion. Did not do the door sill as I already feel that my car is already bumpy. Doing the door sill will further reduce the flex. Might be too hard for me. If this is plug and play ok la. This one once in is permenant. Cannot reverse. So I do not think I will want to do door sill. |

QUOTE(ohde @ May 8 2013, 02:03 PM) 1.6 I believe is good enough for my daily drive. I drive like unker anyway. If I have driven a 2.0 and I own a 1.6, the only thing I will miss is the paddle shift working without needing to change the lever and if kena cucuk once every 2 weeks I have a chance to run away. Anyway, you will need to give way to any of the VW (except Polo Sedan), the fast coming Peug and Preve (might be with turbo), the carzy driving P1 & P2 (not all but some realy is...). |

QUOTE(jeschong @ May 8 2013, 04:54 PM) Yes, bumpier is what I felt after 2 weeks of driving. Flexing allows the car to flex around on uneven road, therefore you feel less of the bumpy. When you foam your car, it became sturty, less flexy, and this non-flexy translate into bumpy, because instead of flexing around the uneven-ness, the car goes through in one 'shape'.his however helps cornering when you have less flexy. You feel less 'terbuang', hence more confidence. I like how it feel now when it goes over bumps in compared to before foam. This post has been edited by lingleeyen: May 8 2013, 05:29 PM |
