QUOTE(gigohlo @ Mar 15 2013, 08:01 AM) What you mean by cant feel much different? In what situations did you try? I installed my front strut first - then on ARB. After installed the front strut bar, cannot say its a wow factor, but can feel more stable.. But once installed ARB, really wow.. Dont actually feel like the car going to turn turtle when you go into a corner hard I think I have not yet do corner hard enough to test the potential. Thx for the sharing |

QUOTE(brainz07 @ Apr 22 2013, 11:05 PM) I went to Sri Kembangan SC for my 10k service..forgot to unplug the Firestorm..damm!! maybe u can try to press the pedal harder with your golden leg hehehe SC reset-ted my ECU..now feel no pickup like before installing firestrom or need to wait because of new engine oil?? i guess the ECU will adjust and learn our driving behavior, i tried that before and it works (P/S: i'm also Firestorm user). QUOTE(blunderboy @ Apr 23 2013, 01:05 PM) Lama tidak menulis dan membaca.. Too busy with work and spending my time elsewhere... I read some discussion about Firestorm... Ramai sudah psang... indeed, i'm Firestorm + K&N user, but haven't change plug yetFor those who already pasang the mercun, if you want to unleash the true potential, try to change your air filter to KN or Simolta or any high performance one plus change your plug to the Iridium type... You can feel the different and your ride will be smoother than before... More pickup ooo... Hehehehehehehe... |

QUOTE(bennedict82 @ Apr 23 2013, 02:43 PM) i bought it RM270 inclusive the cleaning kit.QUOTE(brainz07 @ Apr 23 2013, 03:57 PM) ohde, its true about my golden leg..i'm not that heavy leg type maybe u could try full/half tank of Bhp petrol (Ron 95) or Shell Vpower 97 ("Racing" i guess) and then go to highway press pedal kao kao with heavy leg I log a complain about gear 4 jerking during driving from static and then I heard from the KIA technician said that there are a lot error log from my ECU, that's why they tried to reset the ECU. Then ask me to come back if the prob still there.. my last 2 tanks was Bhp ron95. the 2nd tank was full load with 5 adults plus 80% luggage space, my 1.6sx still manage to handle the loads for 150km journey hehehe after that, i feel that the car become so powerful, unexpected result! QUOTE(bennedict82 @ Apr 23 2013, 05:51 PM) I never can achieve 10k within 6 months. Normally have to send to SC not because 10k mileage but due date of 6 months period. So if I install K&N filter, can I change engine oil only every 6 months. if that's the case, u should quickly go ahead with K&N |

QUOTE(danielwan @ Apr 25 2013, 11:10 AM) Just want to know.. for example, when i am slowing down and gear is dropping, the meter drop down really low. And I had to lift up a bit of my foot and re-press back the pedal. If I keep pressing the pedal while driving the car seems like really slow.. like wanna stop. Is it happened to anybody or it is a common for Forte? Just want to know.. hmm...for my driving habit, i will release the pedal when i need it to slow down...Just a smoother ride. Thats all when the gear drop to no.3 or no.2 (my estimation only, bcoz we don't see the gear number in auto mode) i can feel a bit jerk ("chok" in cantonese). i think what u experienced was the engine break, however i would suggest u go to SC for a checking, especially the gear/gear oil. |

QUOTE(danielwan @ Apr 25 2013, 02:08 PM) Thanks for the advise. Will surely check with SC once the mileage reach. actually don't need to wait until the mileage reach. Thanks for the advise. Really helpful. My Forte is only 2 week actually. Will give it ride for a couple of month first. you may go to SC for regular checking as preventive maintenance. in penang island we have Kia Jns sc which is very good, the boss recommend us go back for 18 point checking every month. of cos it is FREE |

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ May 7 2013, 05:09 PM) I have been driving a 2.0 for almost 2 months. Never regretted buying it. I am a bloody kiasi fellow so I have read through all the threads in reverse manner from thread V16 that time. I decided to place booking after I have finished V10 and some of the S'pore threads, international reviews, discussing with open minded friends. I did those and I know what to expect out of the car. You should do that too, because if you are expecting a BMW build, you will bound for disappointment. i have enjoyed reading your sharing My comments on the car:- Good 1) Very very fun to drive especially with the paddle shift (2.0 do not need to change to triptronic mode to downshift) 2) Lots of practical gadgets to play with (love the bluetooth connectivity, MDPS, chromatic rear view mirror, rear view camera). Don't know how to drive without them now 3) Safety (TC saved me once conciously) 4) Fuel consumption for me is currently 12km/l - 12.5km/l using RON95. 80% H, 20% C, with highway vroom vroom at constant 110 - 130km/h, daily 20 minutes light jam in total before and after work 5) Do not know why but the car boosted my ego (not sure if this is good) 6) Stable handling at high speed (maybe it is because the car is heavy) 7) Quiet cabin (barely hear engine noise from cabin at stagnant) 8) Cannot stop looking at it when I am at home and cannot wait to drive her back during off work 9) Lots of hidden features (not published) which might save you in some of the times Bad 1) If I were to do step by step car upgrade the next time (to D segment), I am not sure if any other brand car can give me the same gadgets, driving assistance and safety without poking a hole in my wallet 2) SpeedNavi GPS is not that great but can make it to PAPAGO 3) No auto up side window 4) Bloody noisy, hard tyre 5) Car tend to flex too much to my liking, affected the my braking style, but I fixed it with foaming 6) Rear absorber too soft to my liking but considering my parents and my future boss (my kids) sitting at the back, better dont touch it. Else can be fixed with the spring cushion at rm 38 (plug and play) There are a few mild mods that I will want to do (filter and plugs). All plug and play which most of the forumer here claimed that it gave possitive effect. If you need more push, go read our first page. It has all the reason for you to buy a Forte. At that price, maybe more expensive, you buy ToyVi & HonCi & Maz2 & NisAl. Those supposed to be good car (not to say problem free), but they are too honest. All of them are B segment with smaller internal cabin size, kosong car. I am glad I did not choose any of that. All and all, I will be having kids soon and I just want a safe car to drive in. Sh*t happens on the road and there is a reason why they call it accident. Lastly, your money, your car, your choice. quite regret i've chosen 1.6 instead of 2.0 |

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ May 8 2013, 02:37 PM) 1.6 I believe is good enough for my daily drive. I drive like unker anyway. If I have driven a 2.0 and I own a 1.6, the only thing I will miss is the paddle shift working without needing to change the lever and if kena cucuk once every 2 weeks I have a chance to run away. Anyway, you will need to give way to any of the VW (except Polo Sedan), the fast coming Peug and Preve (might be with turbo), the carzy driving P1 & P2 (not all but some realy is...). i'm still happy with 1.6 but i think if Forte come with 1.8 will be more balance for the power to weight ratio. |
