This might have been discussed before but I am reading threads in a reverse way from v17. Now on v14. I have not come across a post asking how to break in a forte 6 speeder engine.

I have looked through unker google but there are 2 different opinions. Some say you nurture it for the first 1000km, drive below 3k rpm.

Some say you drive like you stole the car. Shift to pedal shift, rev it to max above 6,let the car upshift itself till gear 4 or 5. Runs at gear 5 for a while before coming to a complete stop, then rev back from gear 1. This should be done like for 30km.

How do you guys normally do it?

Haha. I was reading through comments on the car, while looking for known problems so i know what to expect, how to fix it and where to fix it. I was also basically checking which SC to go to.

So guys, you all just nuture the car with below 3k rpm till 1st service?

Or you guys rev like mad for the first 30km after u get the car?

Another question guys.

I have not got my Forte yet, but I have been observing the car of my friends' for quite a bit. I observed that the car is bisu. ie, it does not have chime or sound to let you know whether the car is locked or unlocked after you have pressed the button on your key or on the handle. Is there any setting that I can do to get the 'chime'?

I am used to plotong's beep beep when I unlock my door and beep when I lock my door.

The car will come tomorrow. Very eager to see the car.

^ Whats the point of arguing? Don't like the chime? Go disable. Don't like the 'bisu'ness, go add. But make it a habit la pls, buckle up before starting ur engine, after locking ur door.

Just got my car from Edwin last Saturday. Basically no hassle in my purchase. Everything is quick and precise. Good SA. Recommended. Good offer, honest, no hanky panky.

I however am bothered about the figure on ODO. The figure shows 30km plus when I first get my car. I am not sure what happened but I want to believe he drives it to do BK and tinting. Also, during hand over inspection, I found a small spot scratch, which is not serious, therefore I did not make a fuss out of it. I am not sure if I am the only one but I found quite an amount of small small glue patched and lines on the exterior and interior, maybe due to the BK installation and interior due to tinting process. These are small problems which I think would compensate the possible bigger problem if I get it from a none trustable SA.

I drove 300km for the past 2 days. Very satisfied with the car. Left pull issue is very very very very minimal. Rattling not yet appear. Bumped in to a big hole with LOUD KOOONG sound on the first 5km of drive. Luckily no dent on rim and no damage on tire.

Add me to the owner list. 2.0 titanium silver. Welcome to the club.

Surely ODO will have 2x or 3x km.
New car need to send to JPJ for inspection and also registering of your car.
Unless the factory, showroom and JPJ office are side-by-side.

Hmm. The last time I got my plotong (with 13km on ODO) was from wangsa maju. If it is like what you said, the JPJ is just very near and no tinting or BK or what so ever.

Thanks for clarifying for me.

I got my car from edwin too last 2 months. My odo at that time around 30km+. Hw much did u add ur money for tinted?

Welcome to teh club!:p

Mine is SF 80. I added 1000 for the tinting. I come from plotong group without tinting. Any improvement or additional stuff is good for me already. Not much to complain about.

Tinting feels good. Still feel a little heat in the cabin after the car half a day under sunny day (went for lunch) just now. I did not take note on how fast the heat disipate as I was too busy explaining stuff to my colleagues.

I am not frustrated with my tinting.

The only bad thing that I must raise is the tire noise. This one is much louder than plotong. But what to do? 17" with low profile tires. Unless change to conti tires. Expensive and no budget. Will need to bare with it untill they go bald.

Mine had some too due to the bodykit installation. After sending for a good professional wash, it went away.

300km in 2 days? That's fast.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

Anyway, congrats!

330km to be exact. Went driving around the city, small roads, highways, up hill down hill (to check if BK will be scratched). Went short outstation trip.

A question, how long between booking n getting the car from edwin??i also planning to buy forte 2.0 from him
*
Considerably fast. I book my car on 4th March, about 9pm. My loan approved very fast. 2 days after that. Sign paper on 7th if not mistaken. Edwin say can pass the new car to me on 12th or 13th but I said I will come collect only on 16th. I asked him to complete everything by Friday night, so that no one go kacau kacau (I know I will kacau, try open door and sit in, touch touch logo and bonnet) my car if it is ready early.

I was inspecting the car on Saturday, buka plastic and all, those people can still go touch touch sit sit your car when you are doing those. New car bro. Even me have not sat in there yet so take your ass away.

Nah...don't worry about the purchase from Edwin or KS. They do deliver. They are brothers. Like blood line brothers.

Some of the guys here did not even meet Edwin or KS at all. Enquiry, sms. Payment, TT. Collect car, friends collect.

With this kind of confidence that some have in them, there will be no problem buying from them. They do the talk I must say.

Go buy from him. Make his customer base larger so that they can command more bargaining power, thus the future buyer will have better deal.

I think I have read this a thousand times before I get my car. "If you need a KIA, look for Motorman (Edwin) or Buy Direct (KS Loh)".

I am not promoting. You asked, I answer. Reading from what other member has experienced (bad experience), I am glad that I took my time reading through threads before I decide who to go to.

What would be the optimum tire pressure for stock tire? What I saw on the side of the door is that front and back is the same, 32 psi. What I experienced from the last car is that front is always 2 psi more than back. I think the same applies to all car.

After I pump 32psi for the front, the tire looks like it has not enough air. Still looked flat. Is this normal?

FC update. The 1st tank gone. RM88 RON95 for 425km. 80% HW 20% City Drive. ODO now shows 525 now.

If you are comfortable with 2 psi more at the front then you can proceed. Those stated on the doors are recommended tire pressure only. merely a guideline, not a rule.

the front tires is sagging because the weight of the engine is pressing down on them. normal.
*
Will try that and feel. What is all other fortezan doing with their tire pressure?

Looked through the website when some one wrote here about 'Toyota Forte'.

The car is hedious. I think the dugong looks better to be honest. The back looked like Almera from 45 degree, looked like city at the direct back. The front, just another facelift, nothing impressive. Sakit mata memandang.

Internal wise wa, at least they tried. But it still looked cheap, badly reorganised, and it is in black, konon-nye la.

I think they are just struggling to come out with something new. The Japs have come to an end. There can be no more improvement unless they make a drastic change, which will never happen unless they went bankrupt.

They can never scrap off the idea of 'i must do everything with home grown members', which they are so proud of. Heck, if u grow your team members from the same mould, how do you expect them to do something different?

This 'NEW' car is no where near the Forte that we are driving now. Please do not put the 'toyota' near 'Forte'. Sakit mata membaca.
