when u tailgate someone dun use auto mode, use manual mode...
normally use 3rd gear max, when it auto-shift to 4th gear, shift back to 3rd gear, so u can maintain 6-6.5krpm...
once u feel safe aldy, then baru use 4th gear... dun use 5th or 6th gear, ur rpm will drop like hell...

Can the KIA Sales Advisors whom are 'regulars' of this LYN Forte Thread provide some insights into this?
These are genuine users/potential purchasers whom are getting restless over this "5 YEAR WARRANTY" issue.

Hi All, this is the response from our trusty AZ Master SA, Mr. Loh Kah Sing.

Apparently all SAs LYN Accounts are banned (probably due to sales pitch posts on our car-talk thread, sigh..).

In any case, I thank him for taking the time and effort to Whatsapp me with his response to my query.

Below is his answer (copy & pasted from my Whatsapp):
===================================
On the 5 years warranty, Naza Kia Will send the warranty letter to the owners directly. If the owners don t get it after two months, they should call customer service at 26177666

Naza send thru normal post, sometimes it gets lost in the mail. If warranty claim falls within first two years, the letter is not required. Letter is only required after third year onwards. Do share this info with others in LYN

hi guys....silly question here...i have a 2.0 6 speed forte....2 years old

yesterday on NS highway a honda city (current gen) was beind me and after letting him pass i had a hard time trying to keep up with him...
seems like the honda city was very fast.... i was doing about 160-170 and he was still pushing forward like a real sports car

anything wrong with my car?
also anybody know the curb weight of the 2.0?

honday city's curb weight is 1,140 kg (from official website) so now i am wondering is it because my car is extra heavy?

This might have been discussed before but I am reading threads in a reverse way from v17. Now on v14. I have not come across a post asking how to break in a forte 6 speeder engine.

I have looked through unker google but there are 2 different opinions. Some say you nurture it for the first 1000km, drive below 3k rpm.

Some say you drive like you stole the car. Shift to pedal shift, rev it to max above 6,let the car upshift itself till gear 4 or 5. Runs at gear 5 for a while before coming to a complete stop, then rev back from gear 1. This should be done like for 30km.

How do you guys normally do it?

It depends if you have the courage to pedal to the metal. But I believe in his car, everything would be vibrating. 160-170 km/h on our Forte it's stable and comfortable. biggrin.gif
