can't compare bro, the only similarity of the THETA II and lancer's engine is the block itself, whatever that's inside is another story on its own, pistons, etc. the performance of the 2.0 is a really weak one altogether (power comes in late at 3k rpm onwards as anything below that feels rather flat)..other factors come into play too, the gbox, the ECU etc... what i can say is the 2.0 needs more boost on the low end
*
So bro, does this means the 1.6 6 speed has same low end torque with 2.0?

test drive liao luuu.. steering feedback precise and road grip is excellent for "cheap" B segment.. only negative is engine is slow to respond when pick-up after corner turning at traffic light junctions.. something like current new Swift punya power except Rio's 1.4 unit is refined and pleasantly quiet at low revs driving..

overall it's a very comfortable car ride for passengers also for driver.. rear seats has proper whole body support unlike shorter and undersized seats found in City, Vios, Mazda2, Fiesta etc.. the only B segment which I never encountered any claustrophobic for 1 hour journey drive to Genting on Chor 9 CNY..

Wahh very lucky la u Ah Bear..i 1st time saw it otr this morning only( bluish purplish)..it looks smart but the 17' rims made the car looks like one of the" hotwheels" vehicle laugh.gif

Well, you know when the time problems occur, the older will always say i had told you earlier time not to this not to what...bla bla bla. Might be true, they have better experience and they might even know more than me. Planning to use the car for 8-10 years @@, well my family don't really those car changer we press more on house, property since car lost its value every year. The only reason we change our car is safety concern since the car already quite many years.

I am glad to hear that Forte is good at balancing and handling, just curious some people do some changes at tire, not sure is size or type of tire for better handling ?
I think they change it becoz they can't tolerate the noise intrusion..as for me the stock tyre isgood enough to keep until its worn out..the noise only occurs on certain road..this i think is due to the road grade as well..furhtemore low profile tyres will emmit more noise but better on grip & cornering...if you want comfort can opt for the more comfort 16' rims..this i learnt to accept since my previous car tyres were more comfort based
You got the point, but issue shouldn't be occur after short period of usage, erm especially what i saw here that some of the owner talking about the dashboard sound, that will be frustrating when you have your car good in sound prove with low engine noise then suddenly this problem just destroy everything...maybe i am the type of perfection @@

I don't really care about the 2nd hand value, since i wont be changing so fast, and the price might be vary after 3-5 years. The maintenance fees do come into my concern, that will be quite heavy if i use this car for 8 - 10 years as mentioned above. Maybe anyone here with earlier batch can express more in this, like problem occurred or any other potential issue that common occur?
Really appreciate allĀ  the quick reply =D

No such thing. Nowadays, with high-speed cameras (reputedly costs RM250K+ of the Tax-Payers money), u can fly as fast as 250kmh and still get caught on camera.
So don't be a hero and try to out-run the cam.

A logical and practical response.
Anything more than 150kmh should be done only in a controlled environment (read: on track).
Of course I'm not sayin that you can't speed over 150kmh.
Just do it in short bursts, like for 2km distance or less. Then slow down to a more sedate pace and carry on te journey in a safe manner smile.gif

Betul betul..i managed 160 once...stabil & smooth..just to test the car once in a while so need to hantam..because everyday asyik stuck in traffic nod.gif

isn't that the kia forte is 5 years warranty? is there any hidden t&c?

How come they ask u to report? I think its delayed tactics to make u become put off & avoid them the hassle of making the report, suggest u to try other sc.

hi guys....silly question here...i have a 2.0 6 speed forte....2 years old

yesterday on NS highway a honda city (current gen) was beind me and after letting him pass i had a hard time trying to keep up with him...
seems like the honda city was very fast.... i was doing about 160-170 and he was still pushing forward like a real sports car

anything wrong with my car?
also anybody know the curb weight of the 2.0?

honday city's curb weight is 1,140 kg (from official website) so now i am wondering is it because my car is extra heavy?
hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

I suggest u to utilise the paddle shift..my 1.6 can eat one...

there is something call 'wipe' . not a must to wash as too many electronics and wiring around on modern car.

Seems like that is the only solution w/o damaging the circuits..now to look for those grime removal chemicals la after this...
