Ya, unfortunately or fortunately i tested pug 508 and i found that it's much better in overall driving experience, feel of solidness, power, handling, etc. I'm not really a car person, but the differentiation is significant enough to make meet think twice. Some more i think Mazda 6 selling quite well that my previous Mazda SA seems has less interest to feed me more information that i need, giving me soonest notification that i need, keeping the promise he made, therefore i cancelled. Anyway, the new SA that i approved is much better.

Anyway, both within my budget and have it's pros and cons. I still not decided to get which car. I'm not really in rush. tongue.gif

Usually people are patriotic, buy one brand and stick to it when upgrade. I know not all,but a large number do. For my dad,it was Volvo, from 121/122s/144/244.
It is very interesting to note, for a person who is not into cars, some of the driving dynamics of the 508 made an important impression to you. Important enough for you to consider this brand. Kudos to Peugeot!

Basically when buying a car we will consider driving pleasure, safety and of course also the interior, exterior and features, service support, maintenance, etc. The decision is not only driving dynamic alone, also more nice and fine interior, acceptable exterior and some accessories as well.

Even for my wife that know nothing about car, after test drive both cars, she straight away say 508 and insist 508, despite I try to tell her the pain we may need to go through due to car breakdown, higher maintenance and poor service from Peugeot.

Anyway, eventually I am the one who have to deal with this and not her. tongue.gif

As long as you prepared to deal with all the problems a continental car may typically face, then it's fine. Even a Japanese Toyota or Honda can break down the first day you get your car. See your heng suay here but the chances of modern cars breaking down is typically very very low.

DSG7 reportedly have a lot of problems especially affecting Mk6 Golf Tsi and Polo Tsi, but my family had the Polo Tsi for the past 2 years and no issues with the car at all.

Anyway, you got time I think. No harm waiting if you can wait, if you can't then see which marque give you the best bang for your buck and go with it.

You are right, if we want to drive conti, we gain the driving pleasure but in return have to accept some reliability issues. The mindset have to change.

I tested passat as well and it's top on my list in term of driving feel of solidness, power and handling. definitely better rhan 508, but its out of my budget.

There's the "ckd" version of the Passat. But 508 will be the bang for the buck buy, no doubt.

Once they know its insured usually SC will not spare the cost, same like private hospitals. This is how capitalist market is.

My wife and I finally made the decision to get the 408T this morning....Dark Blue.
will be getting the car in a week time, hopefully.    tongue.gif

We actually couldn't decide which to take.  208 3-doors?  Or 408T.  we were even considering the 508S.

But she prefer the 408T eventhough it may not be as fancy and stylish (interior and exterior) as the 208 3-doors.
She chose 408 for the space, comfort, full leather, etc etc...and of course, pick up.

oh yeah....now peugeot is giving free Ipad for 408 and 308.

the 10k discount no more?

MInd to purchase mazda6.

Hi Pug Lovers, I've been following this forum secretly for few months now and finally I decided to visit the Peugeot showroom today with the mindset of checking out the new 208 and end up spending more time checking out 408T instead. Few items which I might need your expertise and advise before I decided to set my mind for 408T. Appreciate if you can shed some light on the questions that i have below and thanks in advance:

1) Current promo given is (RM8k rebate + free mini ipad), is this the best offer in the current market?

2) How is the maintenance cost looks like for those who owned 408T since we only service the pugs every 10KM?

3) There is a lot of pug owners raise their concern about the after sales service provided by the SC is horrible in this forum. Do all Bluebox SC really so horrible?

4) 5 years warranty, good news or bad news? cause I read alot of comments i this forum that most of the new pugs got alot of minor problems and need to visit the SC to get
It fixed.

Appreciate if you can shared your valuable experience with your lions before I join this big family. Thank you! =)

Changed a pair of brake disc on the spot without going through the hassle. I wish they could provide nasi lemak though...not fancy of biscuits...

1) Not sure, gotta ask those new owner
2) Maintenance is slightly more expensive to Jap made to be frank, but is just around 10-20% more.
10K - around Rm300+-
20K - around Rm500+-
30k - around Rm500+-
3) There is still room for SC to improve, but not that horrible, at least they fixed most of the owners' problems here.
4) If you can get 5 years warranty instead of 3 years, why not? Ofcoz you can send to your own workshop to get it fixed if you wish to.
